Sathya Sai Baba health issue – media reports overview
Posted by robertpriddy on April 10, 2011
Numerous reports about Sathya Sai Baba’s illness, health condition and prospects flood out each day from India papers and medial outlets, mostly repetitive and of no ‘news’ value. Meanwhile, few are reported outside the Indian sub-continent, the god-guru not being newsworthy and largely or wholly unknown to the great majority of the population in developed countries. Those who believe all or some of his claims and are followers of one degree or another outside India are hungry for reliable, documented news about Sai Baba, his condition and what is going on around him. Here I make available scans of the more interesting and reliable reports and comments to illumine the matter in its various aspects.
NEWS AS OF 13TH APRIL: I posted a later blog (here) in which my main contention was about the inability of the doctors to recognise the import of Sai Baba’s 16 days in hospital with multiple organ failures continuing due to their being devotees who believe in the invulnerability of Sai Baba before his various predicted years of death in his 90s. My doubts about their judgement were again confirmed by the latest announcement ‘Docs fret over Baba’s sluggish recovery’ (see Deccan Herald:- http://www.deccanherald.com/content/153058/docs-fret-over-babas-sluggish.html). The patient’s condition remains critical – he cannot eat and is on heavy medication to maintain his vital parameters, so now the negligible pace of improvement is admitted as worrying the doctors, including Dr. Safaya as being “not satisfactory”. Despite this, the rose-tinted assurances by the devotee doctor Safaya have begun again (April 14th).

Mr Priddy!
there is another issue here with baba!
I have followed, a bit, for years, his sayings, writings; he is not in favor of things Western. he does not like movies, media, technology, and other things from the western world.
So here he is, on a life-support system. Probably as “western modern medicine” as one can have.
[I wonder myself if he is just now an old man trying to die, and "they" will not let him! "multiple organ failure" does not look good.]
the Irony!
—if he recovers, eventually, and he lives for his stated 8 to 11 more years, he will have to “Admit” that he was saved by a modern western medical system!
[this "medical salvation" might have to be often repeated, as the months and years pass by!]
