Sathya Sai Baba fully silenced, even maltreated and imprisoned?

Posted by robertpriddy on April 16, 2011

The battle over Sathya Sai Baba (and his wealth) has broken out in full and the Indian press are reporting it. At long last, after numerous pointed warning by dissidents, the total unaccountability of the Sathya Sai Central Trust is being broached by the media and challenged by interested parties up to ministerial level, and even in court! Information about the resources of the trust and all of its various activities is sparse in the extreme, it is uncertain who holds the reins of power within it, and even who are members and who are not! (One news outlet confidently reports that John Hislop – former head of the US Sathya Sai Organization – is a member, but he died over a decade ago!)

But note that the journalist cannot get the simplest facts right - SB did not break a leg two years ago, he suffered from a major hip joint collapse and botched surgery in 2003!

Sathya Sai Baba has always been at the core of cover-up activities, both as regards the murders under his own nose and the four executions of former students by the Puttaparthi police on his younger brother’s orders which he condoned (being the supreme ruler of Prashanthi Nilayam township) and as regards the years of sex abuses against young men and boys, which came out in force only after 1999 when the Internet made this possible. Now, however, he is himself the victim of a cover-up, if the many accusations that are now flying in all directions are to be given any credence.

One well-informed critical source in India has informed me that “Former trust members and ex-MPs are openly threatening to expose the entire sb charade if they are not adequately “paid off”…politicians are descending to grab whatever their grubby hands can….while sb aides are hoping to make a fast buck and make a run for it…and sb trust members and close family are involved in a bitter fight….all this is out in the open…and a public interest legal petition has been filed in an Andhra court to ascertain the facts of the whole dirty affair…”

That it is a “dirty affair” and that grubby hands are out to grab what they can is no surprise to those who have had the opportunity of observing closely what goes on around Sathya Sai Baba (such as myself) and many ex-devotees who have – like myself – been swindled by Sai Baba’s various trusts (see Sai Finance and Deceits and further deceit documentation here).
The secrecy and unreliability of the entire Central Trust operation is illustrated somewhat by the following outlookindia news report:-

Sathya Sai illness: his words to devotees

Posted by robertpriddy on April 14, 2011

This is what all followers are told to believe fully. His doctors, especially Dr. Safaya, certainly doe not credit his god-guru’s words, however. Backed by the massed doctors, it was proclaimed that Sai Baba needed rest. He is still getting rest too, if lying in intensive care on a ventilator while being pumped of lung congestion and pumped with medicines and sustenance (because he can’t eat) can be called rest.

Yet why so many Sai Baba devotees are so worried and distraught as to try to force entrance to the hospital to see their Swami in his incapacitated condition and so on shows only that they are very badly informed about what Sai Baba has said on diverse occasions. It is common for most devotees to disregard anything that does not fit with their pet beliefs, as I experienced countless times in my 18 years as a leader in the Sathya Sai Organization. However, perhaps they are beginning to see that their doubts about the omniscience and omnipotence – so often proclaimed proudly by Sathya Sai Baba – are justified? Whatever the case, their behaviour is farcical in view of Sai Baba’s lifelong repetitions of his assurances that nothing in this world is real and one should not concern oneself with mere ‘passing clouds’ but only be devotes to God.

Sathya Sai Baba doctors neglect the poor

Posted by robertpriddy on April 12, 2011

LATEST NEWS: Not long after my blog (below) was posted, my main contention about the inability of the doctors to recognise the import of Sai Baba’s 16 days in hospital with multiple organ failures continuing was confirmed by the latest announcement ‘Docs fret over Baba’s sluggish recovery’ (see Deccan Herald:-  http://www.deccanherald.com/content/153058/docs-fret-over-babas-sluggish.html). The patient’s condition remains critical – he cannot eat and is on heavy medication to maintain his vital parameters, so now the sluggish pace of improvement is admitted as worrying the doctors, including Dr. Safaya as “not satisfactory”.

The cohorts of massed doctors neglect their usual patients the amount of time, energy and money that is being lavished by so incredibly many doctors – from India and abroad – is an affront to the majority of the populace most of which cannot afford one-thousandth of the treatment value Sathya Sai Baba is getting. See the following, and my comment afterwards:-

Comprehensive Update on Swami’s Health – By Dr. A. N. Safaya. This was recorded at the Super Specialty Hospital on April 5, 2011 at 14:00 (IST) by the Radio Sai team
A team of senior and reputed doctors from this Hospital is working on Him. It consists of 1) Dr. P. K. Dash 2) Dr. R. Iye 3) Dr. Neelam Desai They are assisted by Dr. Prakash Nair, Dr. Shinde and Dr. Rita. Dr. Krishna Das and his team consisting of Dr. Rajan Anand, Dr. Patnaik and Dr. Ranga are doing a wonderful round the clock job of watching over the conditions of Swami in the intensive care unit. The other doctor involved is Dr. K. S. R. K. Prasad from the Department of Ophthalmology.
Besides this, a large of number of about 14 to 15 doctors from outside have been consulted, who have been either flown-in or have come by car to this place. I would like to particularly mention the following: 1) Dr. P. Venugopal, the former Director of AIIMS, New Delhi and a famous cardio-thorasic surgeon of the country
 2) Dr. Ashok Seth, a famous cardiologist of the country from Fortis Escorts Heart Institute, New Delhi 3) Dr. Sandeep Dewan also from Fortis Escorts Heart Institute, New Delhi, who is very well known intensive care specialist
 4) Dr. Amit Verma again from Fortis Escorts Heart Institute, New Delhi 5) Dr. Subash Chandra from the Department of Cardiology, Manipal Hospital, Bangalore 6) Dr. Uday Muthani, Nephrologist in the Parkinsons Foundation, Bangalore 7) Dr. Ravi Mehta, Intensivist of the Fortis Hospital, Bangalore 8) Dr. Arun, Nephrologist, Vaidehi Institute of Higher Medical Sciences & Mallya Hospital, Bangalore
9) Dr. Kishore Babu, Nephrologist of Vaidehi Institute of Higher Medical Sciences & Mallya Hospital, Bangalore 10) Dr. Mudgil, Gastroenterologist from UK 11) Dr. Narendra Reddy, Endocrinologist from California, US. Deccan Herald, 10 April: Senior gastroenterologist Nageshwar Reddy flew in spesially from Hyderbad to treat the jaundice adding that they still had hopes of recovery.”

This is the panel of doctors from outside who are being consulted by our native doctors team who are working round the clock – every minute and every second – for the love of Swami. At this point I should mention that we are grateful to the Government of Andhra Pradesh for sending a team of doctors – four specialists headed by the Director of Medical Education, Government of Andhra Pradesh, to look into the treatment of Swami and suggest any improvements which they think could be incorporated in the overall treatment. (from http://www.saibabamauritius.org/content/comprehensive-update-swamis-health).

Hope of recovery maybe ‘lives eternally’, but no human body does. One can virtually hear the countless Sai Ram’s and Om Sai’s these devotee doctors exchange before every other observation they make during “every minute and second” of the many days they work for ‘the love of Swami’. The rose-tinted outlook marks every pronouncement, also for the sake of the devotees are showing through deluded comments that they believe Swami cannot die before the various (and conflicting) dates he has given. There is a cult of denial about almost everything concerning Sai Baba in reality, especially his old age mental, moral and physical degeneration pending his actual death. This has evidently affected the reports given out by the doctor teams and surely also the actual judgements of the devoted doctors time and again, with their belated discoveries of one organ ailment after another… and all after 6 months of reported malnutrition and general illnesses about which nothing was done as far as the public can discover. I pointed out his condition at his birthday celebrations in November 2010, which was visible to all who watched the videos of his wooden unresponsiveness and depressed face, but the believers could not believe their eyes’ evidence due to their denial and powerful group press and personal self-indoctrination. One cannot imagine a neutral and full professional examination of Sathya Sai Baba by his doctors… if they were to suspect HIV infection or AIDS, for example, would they even dare to broach the subject (in view of the massive testimony of his sexual abuses which they all are bound to deny, also in their self-interest)? The many sex abuse testimonies and related discussions are all covered at  Sai Baba sexual abuse allegations (ARE YOU IN HEAD-IN-SAND DENIAL OF DOCUMENTATION?) What about ‘The Secret Swami’ & U.S. State Department Warning against Sai Baba or Isaac Tigrett’s belief in the sex abuses?

So with expense no object, extra doctors were flown in from here and there by plane and helicopter, thousands of man-hours of work (which has shown no results comparable to the cost) and massive outlays in employing 5000 extra security police to protect the hospital, its staff and its environs. All this is tax exempt and all imports are duty-free, so a further burden is offloaded onto the public. These are the facts about a massive self-publiciser of his supposed ‘selfless’ help to the poor and needy, which the huge majority of the Indian press is afraid to confront with the known, documented, negative facts because of the influence over it through money and corrupt politicians’ power that Sai Baba’s mini-empire’s various tentacles have generated.

As devotees themselves know and are increasingly complaining, those with a chance of becoming super-rich and powerful, a relative, ashram head and Andhra politicians are gathering like vultures over the place for what they must actually think is a likely meal soonish! The entire set of events is part of a gravy train with the greatest publicity machine in India soaking up donations to be used on many Sai Baba promotions, museums, temples and any number of white elephant projects (mandirs built up and torn down within a few years, like the Sai Ramesh Hall, Brindavan, and the almost deserted jumbo-jet capacity airport which no buyer will touch). Then there are the handouts to those who need nothing, like 5 spanking new Japanese cars to fat-cat VIPs within Sai Baba’s circle and many other reported bribes, not least in connection with the massive and extensive cover-up to the highest levels in government and the judiciary of the 1993 police executions within Sai Baba’s bedroom apartment on the orders of his own brother and other members of the ashram and Central Trust. Some devotees – especially fanatical attackers of all critics – claim while knowing better that what I state in the above is not documented. This is disproven by following the links given in the above and as follows;-

The various murders issues are fully covered at the following page:- Source materials on the Prashanthi Nilayam police executions in 1993 in Sathya Sai Baba’s apartment DARE FOLLOWERS EVEN LOOK?

Sathya Sai Baba illness worsens

Posted by robertpriddy on April 11, 2011

As expected by those who are not deluded into thinking that Sathya Sai Baba is an omnipotent God whose words must always somehow come true – such as his various predictions of age at death (anything from from 92 to 96), he has relapsed. Multiple organ failure is the term – now even his liver is damaged, and he has contracted jaundice… while his kidneys are still not functioning well enough to take him off dialysis, nor his lungs adequate without ventilation. All this can be read about as follows:-

Sathya Sai Baba health issue – media reports overview

Posted by robertpriddy on April 10, 2011

Numerous reports about Sathya Sai Baba’s illness, health condition and prospects flood out each day from India papers and medial outlets, mostly repetitive and of no ‘news’ value. Meanwhile, few are reported outside the Indian sub-continent, the god-guru not being newsworthy and largely or wholly unknown to the great majority of the population in developed countries. Those who believe all or some of his claims and are followers of one degree or another outside India are hungry for reliable, documented news about Sai Baba, his condition and what is going on around him. Here I make available scans of the more interesting and reliable reports and comments to illumine the matter in its various aspects.

NEWS AS OF 13TH APRIL: I posted a later blog (here) in which my main contention was about the inability of the doctors to recognise the import of Sai Baba’s 16 days in hospital with multiple organ failures continuing due to their being devotees who believe in the invulnerability of Sai Baba before his various predicted years of death in his 90s. My doubts about their judgement were again confirmed by the latest announcement ‘Docs fret over Baba’s sluggish recovery’ (see Deccan Herald:-  http://www.deccanherald.com/content/153058/docs-fret-over-babas-sluggish.html). The patient’s condition remains critical – he cannot eat and is on heavy medication to maintain his vital parameters, so now the negligible pace of improvement is admitted as worrying the doctors, including Dr. Safaya as  being “not satisfactory”. Despite this, the rose-tinted assurances by the devotee doctor Safaya have begun again (April 14th).

Sai Baba: health condition prompts succession struggle

Posted by robertpriddy on April 7, 2011

LATEST – THE END IS NEAR The latest of a series of increasingly worried – but more realistic – reports seems that the great myth about Sai Baba living into his 90s, as he has predicted – so he “I can finish My Task” is about to be blown apart.

EARLIER UP-DATE 15 April, 2011: The patient’s condition remains critical – he cannot eat and is on heavy medication to maintain his vital parameters. The import of this condition with multiple organ failures after (now) 18 days in the most intensive care possible was hinted at by an earlier announcement that ‘Docs fret over Baba’s sluggish recovery’ (see Deccan Herald:- http://www.deccanherald.com/content/153058/docs-fret-over-babas-sluggish.html) where his minders admit his slight improvement as being “not satisfactory”. He was also found to have liver damage and jaundice. See latest blog on his condition here.

Reports from 7th April stated that there is no change in Sathya Sai Baba’s condition from the day before. In short, stable – but not without the respirator and the kidney dialysis. That Indian government officials – and even Sathya Sai officials – are so concerned about the succession question and what will become of the huge assets controlled by the Sathya Sai Central Trust rather indicates that they are cynical as to the chances of Sai Baba’s recovery. Large numbers of devotees evidently believe that the illness is only a test of themselves and their faith designed by an all-powerful Godhead and/or that he is taking on the cosmic karma of humanity and similar ideas which he has been inculcating in them for many decades. Various close observers and investigators through the decades have considered him some kind of ‘split personality’ regard him as a normal human being on the one hand – a coarse and ignorant villager – who is however often the instrument of unknown forces that they believe exist and intervene in human affairs through mediums, channels and persons of unusual psychic and intuitive abilities.(striking comparisons have been drawn between his behaviour and the famous and powerful monk, Rasputin).

Scans of parts of two news outlets give a glimpse of the turmoil created by the apparent demise of Sathya Sai Baba long before he reaches the age of 92/93 or 96, when he has various (and contradictorily) predicted he will “leave the body”. If he dies soon and under the conditions which now beset him, it will be a far cry from the alleged yogic control of reaching ‘mahasamadhi’ or moksha of paramahamsas such as Yogananda or saints like Shirdi Sai Baba did (whose identity Sathya annexed in his early days… a very different figure with quite different and mainly Islamic teachings).

Sai Baba’s Karma & Retribution

Posted by robertpriddy on April 7, 2011

A veteran of the Sai Exposé from it’s earliest days, Hari Sampath, has provided this report and his own reflections on Sai Baba’s current situation: It is reposted here, showing as it does his foresight in the matter (08 August 2007). One may or may not agree with the views below, but many do – many more than is generally realised, as is shown by the number and quality of prominent devotees and office-bearers who have resigned from the Sathya Sai Organization, and not least by the over 1500 persons who have signed a petition for Sathya Sai Baba to be brought to justice (which can never happen in India where his money and influence have so far been decisive in blocking all court petitions).

Sathya Sai Baba’s extremely negative karma accumulated for long has been slowly catching up with him and approaching fruition. The countless victims of this fraud, victims of false promises, sexual abuse, cheating, deception and every known act of Adharma had been put to physical , mental, emotional and spiritual misery for a lifetime, and the combined effect of these people’s misery is certainly recoiling back on the colossal fraud Sai Baba.

Most people will remember that in the early days in the 1940′s an old saintly man was brought to sb by his disciples. This man was considered a Guru locally, and had 2 stumps for his legs and was carried around by his disciples. Sai Baba publicly scolded him for that and instead of expressing even basic human sympathy, chided him for being a burden on his disciples by being dependent on them to be carried around. Now the wheel has come a full cycle and the poor, accursed wretched soul Sai Baba himself is being carried, wheeled around, and dependent on his personal staff for even performing basic physical functions.

So many thousands of people , promised “divine cures” and stuck to wheelchairs etc , having been cheated by this fraud and even abandoning conventional medical treatment for disabilities like Dorothy/Pink Twins among many others, people without physical vision, hearing, paralysis, mental ill health, and so many other types of physical disabilites, had been cheated deliberately by this false messiah of deception, and Sai Baba’s karma has caught up.

Now he is reduced to a gibbering, senile, drooling, old fool, in a pathetic condition in full view of the world. He is dependent on his staff even for eating food, going to the toilet etc, what a cruel fate he has invited upon himself. His situation is so pathetic that he has asked his devotees to pray for him and also conduct healing yagnas etc.

The hand that promised to lift a “range of mountains” can’t even cut a cake now or wear his dress properly when it slips !

The feet that promised to walk across the skies is unable to even hobble across the hall for a few feet !

While I do feel somewhat sorry for this pathetic condition, I also realise he has inflicted many many times more on innocent sincere seekers of God, who trusted him and were promised solace from all problems, only to be cruelly cheated for the most selfish of reasons by Sai Baba. At least God has been kind in dealing with Sai Baba in that there are people to attend to him and he has material comforts, but then these folks are also doing so so that they may share the loot gathered over years and for their own selfish ends.

Its got to a point that even the SSO officials and gangsters are sick of waiting on him hand and foot, and apart from the outward civil behavior in public, I know that in private they are quite rude to Sai Baba knowing he is an exhausted incapable senile old man, and also he had been putting many of these officials through his spiritual/divine bullying for years, now they are happy to get back at him. I believe these personal staff sometimes don’t even respond promptly to Sai Baba asking to go to the toilet, resulting in even bed wetting at times. How terrible and sad. Just like an old, aged senile relative being barely tolerated because of his bank balance and hopes of being remembered in the will and legacy.

These people are just hoping Sai Baba dies soon, but I don’t think he will die soon, because afterall the god of death is Dharmaraja or Yama, who himself wouldn’t want to come anywhere near sb soon to put him out of his misery, such an extreme case of adharma is Sai Baba.

I in fact feel that Sai Baba’s misery has just started and after losing his legs and one hand, soon he will lose his hearing, speech, eyesight and mental sanity, one by one, and his misery will be shown to the whole world, and he will be exposed for what he truly is : the retribution for a lifetime of massive fraud, debauchery, trickery and self seeking, for name and fame as God, resulting in an old age drooling, gibbering, legless, blind, speechless, paralysed and broken, and humiliated old wretch.

His life will indeed be a message to humankind. And it will end only when God finally acts mercifully to put him out of his misery.

It was not said lightly that “he whom the Gods want to destroy, they make him mad first”, and we would see this too.

Hari Sampath

Sathya Sai Baba on illness and death

Posted by robertpriddy on April 6, 2011

The sick degenerated man

Despite the detailed statement by Dr. Safaya on all the steps taken to treat Sathya Sai Baba’s multiple illness condition, his all too reassuringly diplomatic style does little to dispel the seriousness of the guru’s critical condition. It is understandable that he would not paint the doomsday scenario for Sai Baba as the devotees who are massing in Puttaparthi, round the ashram and even threatening the security of the hospital are so fanatical, deluded and distraught that it seems Sai Baba’s own teaching is entirely disregarded by them! But the evidence he gave suggest nonetheless that Sathya Sai Baba’s life is hanging by a thread and his longer-term prospects are grim. Many a time, Sai Baba has reacted to the death of close servitors with most cheerful and directly pleased comments. One should be glad that the sentence of life is over, and suchlike. Those who choose to believe in the statements of this guru need a bit of reminding of some of them perhaps (see image)

Despite Sai Baba’s occasional sensible remarks, his actions visible and completely contradict (as so often to those who have still eyes to see and have rejected ‘blind belief’ – See Sathya Sai Baba in Word and Action)

The blind believers include many Indian VIPs, but the great majority of devotees are poor and largely uneducated villagers whose lives are partly ruled by religious fantasies and many superstitions. This is seen in the report by a local journalist (from Anantapur) – one who apparently himself lives within the limits of the Sai Baba mini-world community where the belief that Sathya Sai Baba is a hugely world-famous figure and is worshipped by most of the important people in foreign countries. What a delusion… he refers to “billions of devotees around the world” who see him as “God walking on earth”. This is a fantastic and deranged statement. Probably Elvis Presley – who died decades ago – has more fans still and quite a few who think of him as a god too! The estimated number of Sai Baba followers (and anyone who shows even mere curiosity seems to be counted as one) by reliable sources are far, far lower – see here. The number of foreign followers has decreased all the time since the many testimonies of sexual abuse by Sai Baba were released around 2000 and many office-bearers and prominent persons resigned.

Illness: It is worth remembering some other statements by Sathya Sai Baba at this time:-
Many foreigners often ask Me, Swami, how come you look so young and energetic even at the age of 75?’ I tell them that the three P´s in Me are responsible for this. They are purity, patience and perseverance. If you develop these three virtues, you too will remain young and energetic always.” (Sanathana Sarathi May 2000, p 143)

And perhaps this explains a lot – at least to those from whose eyes the scales of belief and rose-tinted glasses have fallen:-

“It is not only unbridled passion which damage the health of man. Living on Ill-gotten money also causes ill-health to some extent. Living on earnings got by unjust means causes many unknown diseases to take root in us.” Gems of Wisdom Quotations from Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba – page 176 – 178

That Sathya Sai Baba has collected much money under false pretenses is a fact shown by testimony and documentation. That he has misused the money given to him trustingly on self-glorifying pomp and even on giving five brand new Japanese cars to his already well-padded servitors like Dr. G Ventataraman is a published fact (see Donations to Sathya Sai Central Trust misused by/for directors etc.)

Further, Sathya Sai Baba has encouraged people to believe that the stones in rings and other setting which he seems to ‘materialize’ are genuine gemstones, often calling them diamonds. All those which have been assayed by professional jewelers have proven to be cheap paiste gems. Believer recipients think this is miraculous Grace of God and dare not get the stones valued… they fear negative karmic consequences! This applies as much to top politicians who sport greed Sai Baba rings as to all the others. In my case the green diamond eventually was certified as a cheap synthetic sapphire – its brightness enhances with green tinsel paper behind the stone. ). Ask yourself, is this not false pretenses and outright, calculated, deception? Well, no one has ever produced genuine proof that a single gem supposedly ‘created’ by Sai Baba is a genuine and very valuable gift (see here). Believing that they are genuine, countless devotees have then donated large sums of money in thankfulness to this God Almighty. That is his big con trick. He also pretends to ‘materialize ‘ brand-name watches, but sometimes they have been donated previously by visiting groups! See this Close-up photo of Sai Baba ring materializing?

Sai Baba’s life on thread – battles over his wealth?

Posted by robertpriddy on April 5, 2011

See Sathya Sai Baba on illness and death with Dr, Safaya’s latest statement reported

I have predicted that – as Sai officialdom always does – the facts have been glossed over by Dr. Safaya and all the other believers in Sai Baba’s omnipotent powers. Sai Baba’s condition has been critical and doctors have had to ‘fight to save his life’. That he is on continuous kidney dialysis is a telling sign that his system is not likely to enable him to survive long. Malnutrition in old age is usually connected to mental degeneration or old age depression, signs of both of which have been visible in him since his 85th birthday celebrations where he appeared as an unmoving almost wooden idol. Whether they are successful or not time will show, but it is a sign, perhaps, in that the vultures are gathering already: his nephew Ratnakara (TIMES OF INDIA) is reportedly trying to take control of the Sathya Sai Central Trust and even to ‘step into Sai Baba’s shoes’! The Sathya Sai Central Trust has also reportedly obtained signatures from at least two of Sai Baba’s relatives (Deccan Chronicle).. A recent report from various Sai ‘authorities’ is that Sai Baba’s condition has stabilized again and that he is showing sings of some improvement. One must evaluate this on the background of the turmoil surrounding the doctors and officials who have even been attacked by suspicious and fanatical devotees trying forcibly to get immediate access to Sai Baba (who is in intensive care still on a respirator and continuous dialysis!).

Signs of a degenerate old aged depressed ill person?

Despite the medical bulletin, sources in the government maintained that Baba’s condition was stable and there was no need to worry. “His condition is stable as it was two days back. He is showing signs of improvement,” the official said. Devotees, meanwhile, thronged the hospital and also Prashanti Nilayam, the Baba’s residence. Some wept uncontrollably while others were seen anxiously inquiring about his health.Hotels, shops and other petty kiosks downed shutters and groups huddled in street corners as the police increased security and put up barricades at sensitive places. At the hospital, irate devotees demanded that they be allowed to see Satya Sai Baba. Protesters argued that they wanted the doctors to come out with the truth. The devotees also turned their ire on the media and asked newsmen to leave the hospital area and OB vans were forced to leave. They alleged that the media was unnecessarily playing up Baba’s illness and had made such claims in the past too forcing the hospital to issue daily bulletins. “I am still confident that he will recover. I told him several times to take care of his health. He did not listen,” said Amma Sai Eramma, a Russian devotee of the Baba who has settled in Puttaparthi. DECCAN CHRONICLE

Comment: Such devotees believe him to be totally omnipotent and to be taking on the cosmic karma of all humanity! The indoctrinated sheer unreasonablity of it all alone ‘boggles the mind’.

On April 2nd, an interesting event was reported by the Deccan Chronicle:- Meanwhile, tension prevailed at the hospital on Saturday as Satya Sai Baba’s relatives argued with doctors after they were denied permission to visit him. The doctors told the relatives that phlegm had accumulated in Baba’s lungs need to be removed as he was unable to spit it out. But the relatives turned suspicious about Baba’s health and argued that they be allowed to see him. They wondered why they should sign the papers when the Baba was said to be safe.

Comment (One usually well-informed contact we have reports that this was possibly under false pretenses. According to his information, they thought they were signing permission for doctors to operate, but the actual wording may also have involved their handing over any rights they may have had to dispose of Sai Baba’s massive financial empire. The truth of this report cannot be guaranteed, but it may help to stimulate any officials who could investigate the matter)

Sai Baba's "level of consciousness" improved? One can but laugh - he who has ever boasted he is ever totally superconscious! Not in any known dimension!

April 5th 2.40am. “Government-appointed Dr Ravi Raj earlier allayed fears of Sai Baba’s devotees from India and abroad saying his health was improving and there is no immediate threat to his life. His blood pressure was said to be normal but urea count in urine was high necessitating dialysis.

COMMENT: This is of course in direct contradiction to all the bulletins – of the ‘critical condition’ and ‘doctors fighting to save his life’ – issued in the previous 12 hours. One wonders if wishful thinking is so contagious that Government doctors catch it!

“We all believe that he will be fine,” said Arvind Sharma, an alumni of Sri Sathya Higher Secondary Sai School, Puttapurthy. “After all, there are instances in Shirdi Sai Baba’s life when he left his body for a while and then came back,” said Sharma. Sathya Sai Baba has called himself Shirdi Baba’s reincarnation. The area around the hospital is under heavy security blanket and Around 5,000 cops are deployed. DGP Aravinda Rao, who visited the hospital, said Anantapur DIG Charu Sinha is looking after security measures. Additional police checkposts have been set up at Prasanthi Nilayam and the hospital to ensure that devotees or others do not create a commotion. ” Times of India

From fiction into fact Many of the unconfirmable and uncontrollable rumours are an important part of the basis of belief for many devotees I have met through two decades. The Sai movement thrives and expands on the basis of rumours about Sathya Sai Baba, his doings in the flesh and in the spirit, every fresh bit of hearsay is eagerly awaited in the Sai movement and is devoured whole – hair and all – with unquestioning acceptance and uncritical servility.

One can already begin to speculate on what will be concocted as his ‘famous last words’ or as a parting deathbed miracle by those around him who have spread false stories and rumours on a massive scale (like people walking through walls from the interview room direct to Australia and another to Mecca!). So be prepared for unreason and deceit to break lose yet again! Though all his official believe fully he was once Rama and Krishna etc., it is unlikely that such final miracles as a golden chariot descending from the heavens to pick him up will be observed, but one never knows with so many gullible religious devotees and uneducated peasants (note: most Hindu believers credit the myths of the Ramayana and Mahabharata and Srimad Bhagavatam as gospel truth).

Comments from Indians showing the absurdity of the whole Sathya Sai Baba cult and his claims are being posted as never before on various Indian news sites. One hopes that this will be the beginning of a most necessary sea change in religious superstition in India.. though there is probably further to go there than in any other country on earth.

Sathya Sai Super-speciality Hospital

Posted by robertpriddy on April 4, 2011

sshospital

Under the heading ‘Give Help Without Publicity’ in his journal Sanathana Sarathi October 2003, p. 295), Sathya Sai Baba said in a discourse after an earlier speaker had spoken extensively about the achievements of the Sai hospital: I always advise the doctors not to publicise what we do in the hospital. There are several wonderful things that are happening. [All Sai Baba's words are in italics] Whereupon he goes on at great length about supposedly marvellous achievements of the hospital in two individual cases! This yet again shows the complete discrepancy between Sai Baba’s word and deed within the space of two sentences. He knew too that this went out through huge loudspeakers set all around the ashram, and that it would be printed and air-mailed to tens of thousands, posted on various of his official websites and also sent out repeatedly on his own world-wide radio! What a pathetic parody of true spirituality! His wily chutzpah, evident to the level-headed, does not penetrate the thick cocoons of blind faith in which so many devotees imagine themselves protected from untruth. ‘Give Help Without Publicity’ is completely hollow hypocrisy.

Sai Baba’s braggaddocio about his loving selfless service – literally claiming it to be thousands of times more than anyone else does seems overdone from one who claims to be the father and mother of all beings, the creator and sustainer of the universe! The Sathya Sai Organisation and many of his followers parrot him without ever a twinge of criticism in countless articles, books galore, on dozens of websites, in films (often exhibiting public service by his followers), in repeated photo exhibitions (to which all centres in the world have to send details and pictures of service activities), in constant self-serving radio broadcasts (Radio Sai) and in hiring the most expensive venues in big cities (New York, San Francisco, London, Melbourne etc.) to propagate and propagandize beyond all decency.

Sai Baba also mentioned about boys nightly sharing his bedroom, as he has previously stated is a fact – one which is also well known to ashram residents and regulars. He said: “These boys from the hospital sleep on the ground floor while I stay on the first floor. They discuss hospital related matters. I keep telling them, ‘Do not speak about them anywhere outside’. Yet he had just sat through one of these boy’s long glowing account of the achievements of the hospital! Such brazen duplicity shows Sai Baba’s strong desire to have information about ‘His‘ hospitals spread loud and far. The official Radio Sai website – run by his trusted follower and cover-up agent – Dr. G. Venkataraman – trumpets such propaganda continuously.

In that discourse, Sai Baba also waxed large about having personally allowed the use of an injection costing Rs. 80,000.- to save one patient’s life. He said, Any amount should be spent to save the life of the patient. I shall bear the expenses… Yet how indeed can he pay out of his own pocket, who has no pocket? Using such huge sums on single injections is virtually an affront to the millions of poor in India who can’t even afford the simplest proper medicines or treatments. His super-costly and over-opulent hospital buildings declare rather much the same message. He also said: One patient from Nepal had his heart on his right side! Our doctors have shifted it back to the correct location. I told the doctors that no one needed to be informed about this. People may accuse us of praising ourselves. But it is he who praises himself and informs about it as publicly as he can! When hypocrisy becomes so transparent it is a parody of the balanced truth.

Further: Thousands of students have received education in our university totally free of cost. But we have never publicised the fact.” Thereby he unrepentingly blazoned it! It is NOT true that he has not publicised this before. It has been mentioned constantly in discourses and in many interviews. Further, several people who have applied and were asked to pay fees – or were expected to donate accordingly – have disputed the truth of this.

The SSSIHMS, Puttaparthy (Sathya Sai Institute of medical Sciences) is but a relatively modest contribution to the massive health problems in India, especially for the peasantry. of the peasant populace. The close servitor of Sai Baba – a veteran and prestigious Goenka prize-winning economic journalist V.K. Narasimhan – told me he considered it to be a huge waste of the money donated, rather being a flagship to promote Sathya Sai Baba himself and his various eclectic doctrines. VKN thought the money could have been better employed as prophylactic medicine and out-patient clinics for huge numbers of the poor, such as in ensuring that all received necessary vitamins and simple medicines, rather than in performing a limited number of very high-tech. operations. Narasimhan was slowly weaned from his original scepticism because of the praise and attention Sathya Sai Baba poured on him (he was very prone to flattery as an old age widower), taking him on a tour of the wards. There has, however, been public controversy about its clinical cleanliness and claimed results, especially by Sara Pavan – a doctor who left his post in Australia to work there but who came into conflict with the principal of the hospital and was suspended. The degree of filth found and the re-use of old syringes were among the reasons given for strictly avoiding becoming a patient there. It is not open to independent health inspections by regulatory bodies, nor are its admissions made available as it is a private undertaking. It provides services to Sathya Sai devotees in India and from abroad (who visit for the purpose of operations etc.) and who either donate or are charged with a bill. It is reported – and certainly likely that this hospital’s services are permitted to persons who Sai Baba wishes to bring into his fold.

The Staff Buildings at the Puttaparthi Hospital A former friend of mine from the USA, a retired engineer, attended an interview with Sai Baba in the early 1990s where a person asked why the hospital accommodation had stood empty for nearly 2 years. Sathya Sai Baba had replied that it was to give time for the snakes and scorpions to leave. One suspects that this was untrue and that other reasons – inefficiency, corruption and the like were the cause. Apropos, Sai Baba has said:-

Many sit here near to me. But are they dear? There are scorpions and snakes near to me in Puttaparthi. Are they dear? No!” (Sathya Sai Speaks new ed. Vol. 25. Ch 9, p. 94). Perhaps he was (also) referring to the many who wished to get some kind of sinecure or benefit from the hospital – like free accommodation, who would not have waited indefinitely for this… but that is rather a far-fetched reason for such a huge waste of resources involved in letting a major complex stand empty and unused for so long.

Sathya Sai Baba on ventilator & dialysis (in Super-speciality Hospital)

Posted by robertpriddy on April 4, 2011

Around 1800 GMT today (April 4. 2011) there are media reports () such as on NDTV that Sai Baba’s condition is critical. The grapevine from India conveys to me that his body is not responding to any treatment, and some say he is dead already. One source says he died during heart surgery. All this may well be rumours… but I have predicted that – as Sai officialdom always does – the facts have been glossed over by Dr. Safaya and all the other believers in Sai Baba’s omnipotent powers. Sai Baba’s condition has been critical and doctors have had to ‘fight to save his life’. Whether they are successful or not time will show, but it is a sign, perhaps, in that the vultures are gathering already: the nephew of his deceased younger brother Janakiramiah, one Ratnakara,(TIMES OF INDIA) is according to my informants trying to take control of the Sathya Sai Central Trust and even to ‘step into Sai Baba’s shoes’! The Sathya Sai Central Trust has also reportedly obtained signatures from at least two of Sai Baba’s relatives (Deccan Chronicle). (One usually well-informed contact we have reports that this was possibly under false pretenses. According to his information, they thought they were signing permission for doctors to operate, but the actual wording may also have involved their handing over any rights they may have had to dispose of Sai Baba’s massive financial empire. The truth of this report cannot be guaranteed, but it may help to stimulate any officials who could investigate the matter).

UP-DATE A recent report from various Sai ‘authorities’ is that Sai Baba’s condition has stabilized again and that he is showing sings of some improvement. One must evaluate this on the background of the turmoil surrounding the doctors and officials who have even been attacked by suspicious and fanatical devotees trying forcibly to get immediate access to Sai Baba (who is in intensive care still on a respirator and continuous dialysis!).

Yesterday we could read on Bernama.com: “He continues to be on CRRT (Continuous Renal Replacement therapy) system to help functioning of the kidneys. “The vital systems are not adequately responding. The condition of ‘baba’ is critical,” said Dr A. N. Safaya, director of Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Medical Sciences in Puttaparthi.

This shows that one dialysis was not enough, it has to be continuous. So much for all the tricky talk about ‘Sai Baba is better’. The fact is: Sai Baba is worse… if actually still alive. Time will tell.

Another report from NetIndian states: “The doctors’ team was still attending on Sai Baba to save his life, he said.” This is evidently getting closer to the truth. Perhaps the authorities’ policy is to break the news slowly, bit by bit?

See also sify.com He continues to be on CRRT system to help the functioning of the kidneys,” a health bulletin issued by the Director of the Sri Satya Sai Institute of Higher Medical Sciences said. “The vital systems are not adequately responding. The condition of Baba is critical. The panel of doctors treating him are doing their best to make the system to respond,” it said.

Earlier I wrote here: The improvement in Sathya Sai Baba’s blood analysis and reduced breathing difficulties mean that he is better. But note: NOT entirely better… he has to be kept on a ventilator for breathing difficulties and problems with his sputum. Further, a major fact that was held back has now emerged – he has had to have kidney dialysis too and was suffering from lack of nourishment. Failure to eat proper food is a typical symptom of old age where lack of interest in life and degeneration of the faculties set in. In any case, the days are long gone when Sai Baba would order the doctors away and say that his purity would ensure speedy recovery. He is now powerless and ineffective… rather what Americans call a ‘basket case’ and what Indians call being at ‘the fag-end of his life’.  (and on-going events April 4th show this is all too true)

No doubt the devotee director of the Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Medical Sciences, Dr. Safaya and other devotee doctors, put a positive spin on what came out so as not to alarm the many who were praying at the ashram. I suggested that would be done, knowing how censorship of information by his minders is always used and how Sai Baba says always to look at everyone and everything through rose-tinted spectacles. The Sai Baba coterie has always had a very tight control of all factual information – especially much so since the many allegations of wrongdoing emerged on a massive and increasing scale since 1999 when David Bailey first opened the can of worms. Believers in the literally megalomaniac claims by Sai Baba (God Incarnate, Deity of all Deities, Creator of the Universe etc.), as his ashram, hospital and college staff have to be, will always be unable to see the facts relating to him as they really are unless forced to in some cases by emergencies they must face themselves, as in this case. Judging by the current international media, the world at large is relatively unaware of Sathya Sai Baba and his unsurpassed claims of ultimate greatness and superhuman divine powers, or his grip on the minds of the highest leadership in India. Not so in India, where only the most courageous journalists and news media dare ever publish anything negative about this power-broker and his cadre.

It is high time for a reassessment of the claims of Sai Baba, now that his repeated prophecies about his own invulnerability to aging and health problems have exploded, leaving him wheelchair bound, degenerating visibly and even blubbering when praised with the words ‘Sri Sri’ at his own birthday (he has previously decried crying as something one should do under no circumstances – as reported by his VIP devotee Jegathesan see here). One can pity him for his condition, but not for his deceits and abuses.
About rumours – spread widely and wildly by Sai people, though not by most critics, see here.

SATHYA SAI BABA IN ICU – HEALTH NOT GOOD

Posted by robertpriddy on April 2, 2011

UP-DATE 15 April, 2011: The patient’s condition remains critical – he cannot eat and is on heavy medication to maintain his vital parameters.

Sai Baba: health condition prompts succession struggle

Sai Baba’s life on thread – battles over his wealth?

According to a news outlet, Sathya Sai Baba had to be moved to an Intensive Care Unit due to his worsening condition. His devotee doctors’ rose-tinted pronouncement that he is fine and “will soon be giving darsan” etc. remains to be proven. This contains a fair dose of wishful thinking, if former behaviour by his minders is to go by.

Meanwhile, the official Sai website states that “the more rest that Bhagawan gets, the faster will be his recovery”
FurtherIn view of this, we earnestly appeal to one and all to continue offering prayers of Love emanating from the Heart.

One must wonder why these prayers are so necessary if rest is all that he needs? Did a doctor advise this? It will seem utterly demented to non-devotees – i.e. the vast majority of all people. ‘ (and lacking in ‘True Thought emanating from the Head’)

Then it implores in capital letters: “PLEASE DO NOT send e-mails to each other based on all kinds of unfounded rumours, of which there are more than what we need.

One asks, ‘which rumours do they actually need then?’ But why can’t the authorities specify what they regard as ‘rumours’. Do they lack the stomach for that? Do they include the countless fantastic rumours on which all the miracle stories thrive? Or the ‘rumours’ spread in discourses by Sai Baba himself about his own health and countless other false stories about himself (not eating, never sleeping, always weighing exactly 108 Kgs. and hundreds more?) The Sai literature does certainly have “more than what we need”. But one cannot fail to consider that they really men what I and other serious critics are writing. We do not write rumours, only facts. Not one “rumour” can be shown in my blogs, not anywhere! Study the actual text as religiously as one can…

One can read: “Baba was recovering slowly after being implanted with a pacemaker but his health took a turn for the worse yesterday. Cardiologists from Bengaluru are treating Baba. The devotees are naturally worried with the news. They are gathering large numbers in Puttaparthi and offering prayers for speedy recovery of Baba.”

The above report is 4 days old, it appears.

Prayers by devotees ‘God Almighty Himself’ (i.e. Sai Baba for them)have in the past been patently of no account in improving his health. Thousands reportedly prayed constantly for him to heal himself after his botched hip-joint job – he had said he would be walking fully within days and ignored doctors’ advice – but got worse directly and has been wheelchair bound since then.

The guru is known for having said that he does not take account of his own health or cure himself – he is instead concerned only about his devotees. In this he is, as usual, self-contradictory – for he reported that he had cured himself of other illnesses – a severe kidney failure in Mangalore in early days, and a much more severe set of heart attacks from which he appeared to cure himself in front of a large crowd on Shivarathri Day in his Prashanthi Nilayam ashram in 1963.
