Sathya Sai Baba Discourse (25/12/1996) corrects ancient history

Sathya Sai Baba, the well-known claimant to be the Father who sent Jesus to earth (No less !) gave a Discourse on Christmas Day 1996 where he ‘vouchsafed’ some hitherto undiscovered alleged ‘truths’ about Christianity and Islam. His ‘message’ turns established history upside down and inside out, for which we all must be truly thankful as there is nothing like getting right to the bottom of things, is there? My old friend  editor V. K. Narasimhan had enough remaining faith in Sai Baba to omit the most embarrassing statements from the official journal Sanathana Sarathi, and so neither was it printed in the official version in Sathya Sai Speaks, Volume XXIX. On page 393 the excerpts given below were referred to as follows:- “Bhagavan gave a brief account of the Jewish concept of the creation of the cosmos and referred to the birth of Jesus as the son of Mary and Joseph.“ The discourse was captured in full by the American filmmaker James Redmond, who was for many years Sathya Sai Baba’s official videographer. The following direct quotations (in brown text) were transcribed from the video as simultaneously translated by Professor Anil Kumar (Sai Baba’s court jester and worse) though some of the most hilarious errors were not included in the version published by Sri Sathya Sai Towers Pvt. Ltd.

James Redmond continued to sell Sathya Sai Baba videos for a considerable period after 1996, but eventually closed his engagement down and these videos have not been commonly available since the early 2000s. The material has also been reproduced from the video and commented wisely upon by Brian Steel , the former author of a large and accurate Sai Baba compendium published by Samuel Weiser Inc., USA.
