With all the information you are taking the pains to spread around, I can say it is a personal choice to embrace ignorance and blind faith if people decide not to verify their beliefs and read what is available. Years back, I too would immediately turn a deaf ear and close down information that would be anti-ssb.

When Easwaramma died, SB did not bother to even visit her funeral and attributed it to Vedantic thought saying “what is there to see in a body?”. Such was an example that he set and also declared that his life was his message? If indeed his mother was also possessed of this great Vedantic thought, perhaps she would not have breast fed him or brought him up. After all what is their in a body or life? Bodies come and go!
All this callous nature towards his own mother makes me wonder if he was even her son or the son of his father’s keep ?

With the main objective of establishing himself, Sathya Sai Baba cared little for others and worse even hurted and treated others very badly in order to accomplish what he wanted.
How else can one explain the methodology behind the unconventional rags to riches story – with no education, no work and for one who came with nothing, went away with a 40,000 crore empire?
He was called a people’s man….but in reality he was a pain in people’s neck. People who worked with him or even remotely associated with him heaved a sigh of relief when he died. It was not Good- Bye, it was Good Riddance.

I read this and I feel terribly happy I am no more involved in his organisation and that I do not have anything to do with him. I mean, how in the world did we believe a barely educated poor villager born in the 1920s in South India could ever have the solutions to the world’s problems ?!

Indians themselves – instead of leaving exposure of Sathya Sai Baba and his cult up to major media like the BBC, DR, SBS, Times of London, Telegraph, Guardian, etc., etc. – will need to expose the insidiousness of the Sathya Sai Cult. Now that so much work has been done, it should make their job easier. Because until more recently, when there has, at last, been widespread Indian media exposure of the Sathya Sai Central Trust’s corruption, the going would have been extremely uphill, leading to job loss, threats to life and limb, upheaval in the extended families, etc. It has been tremendously hard for overseas former devotees and other critics, requiring huge amounts of work and personal sacrifice. Nevertheless, it is a very sad commentary that only a few in India like Basava Premanand and Hari Sampath have had the courage to stand up and speak out.

This was Sathya Sai Baba’s strategy to become a household name himself by latching on to the popularity of another. How that person became popular was inconsequential to him.
To lead a life of goodness requires far more courage, perseverance and struggle.The sacrifices of the good and devoted never meant anything to him.
To him all that mattered was success, no matter the method.

Saibaba of Shirdi was a Muslim but most if not all of his present day devotees are Hindus. The area is a very crowded area and therefore served the purpose of the extremists – which is to cause damage at very highly populated spots frequented mostly by Hindus. Among the public in Hyderabad the general opinion is that Sathya Sai Baba is a charlatan whose doors are wide open for the rich but not for regular people. Other than his deluded followers no one else believes that he is a reincarnation of Shirdi Sai Baba.

It is well known that a person who is being sexually abused by another will often times enter into a corrupted relationship with the abuser. This is very pervasive in the Sai Baba case; in fact, it is so pervasive it could almost be considered some kind of a sex cult. It is this aspect that is so damning to India as a country and a culture, to have these behaviors going on and nothing is being done about it. This almost implicates almost everybody who comes in contact with this evil. Sai Baba lied to everybody and seemed to enjoy do it.

Interesting material indeed. But seems strange that students (4 who is dead and 2 who’s survived) claimed have no intentions against SB directly. It is really possible to suggest that with such claims they just wanted to escape terrible prosecution. As it known, some of them (if not all) were close to SB before, which means – under sexual usage and with full knowledge about cheating and other fraud going on. After all – Could they really have no intentions against sb personally? Strange…

The background for their attempt to see Sai baba (which all agree they intended, whatever else) was that the organiser of the whole episode, Vijay Prabhu, who was not in the temple grounds when the knife fight took place was the security chief og Prashanthi Nilyam. He attested later that he the aim was to inform Sai Baba about the corruption and many bad things done by the clique around SB, including Radhakrishna who was his valet and closest servitor at that time. Prabhu was excluded by Radhakrishnan and his gang from even meeting SB and he believed fully that SB had given him signs (in answer to his mental questions, I suppose) that he should carry out his plan. As to the others involved, it is reported that at least Mahajan was being sexually abused and so each of them would have also had different motives, though it was told by boy relatives who were allowed in the crime scene – to SB’s sister and Eileen Weed on the night of the murders – that the intruders had no intention of harming Sai Baba. Sai Baba actually contradicted his younger brother and others who claimed it was an attempt on his life, saying that no such thing was intended.

Great stuff, Robert. In hindsight the motto ‘My life was one big massage’ seems more apt to describe Sathya Sai Baba’s life style than Ghandi’s ‘My life is my message’, especially in light of his non-stop need to have his calves rubbed (and other body parts massaged higher up?) by nimble teen boy hands…

I was living in Parthi and remember well, the day that the announcement came that sb would no longer be allowing padanamaskar. Most devotees were in depressed turmoil at the change. It is true that it was strictly enforced by the security around him, for some months. His feet were zealously guarded and no one was allowed to touch his feet during darshan or functions. Who knows the reason? Could have just been a painful ingrown toenail he wanted to protect! Or could have been reaction of the negative rumors online at that time. Fact is, after awhile everyone seemed to have forgotten and the feet-touching made a revival and all went on as it did before. We all commented about it amongst ourselves and thought it was a strange reversal but figured, “The Lord has answered our prayers!”

I have looked at the BBC’s “Secret Swami” again and, in my experience, people do not lie about these kinds of experiences. Not a single person ever lied to me about abuses that may have occurred. So any kind of a statement that people may make that they wanted these things to happen is a delusion on their part. And, of course, now look at the situation that we have where there is massive child sexual abuse taking place and massive domestic violence also. I only hope the Indians wake up to the fact that people do not want to be fondled and molested by anybody, especially somebody like Sai Baba. I remain convinced that this is evil trying to take over the confidences of people so they can be easily exploited.
