THE SATHYA SAI ORGANISATION’S FAILED THREATS AND COURT ATTEMPTS

The fact is, all of the top Sai leaders who have gone to court against exposé activists have consistently failed. Representatives of the Danish Sai Organization tried to stop the film ‘Seduced by Sai Baba’ by litigating against Ojvind Kyroe (Øjvind Kyrø) three times and failed in each instance – and also the Sai Baba ‘VIP’, Jorgen (Jørgen) Trygved – the very rich managing director of the big firm Superfors – threatened action through a top Danish lawyer against the head of Danish National broadcasting, at which the latter shrugged ironically and said ‘I am shaking with fear!’ So Trygved was advised by his top, expensive silk to drop proceedings as he had no chance whatever!

The International Chairman of the Sathya Sai Organisation, Dr. M. Goldstein, threatened action against the BBC prior to the showing of ‘The Secret Swami’ and failed. The documentary shows him personally at what should be close to his very worst (but one never knows what’s worst)! They threatened compensation litigation too (see http://www.exbaba.com/ but it never came about! None who have threatened litaigation have dared to carry through.

Then the name-calling leader of the Australian Sai Organisation, T.S. Ramanathan, posted criminal and civil actions against Barry Pittard – basing them on a totally wrong assumption, that Pittard was sending out e-mails to devotees to inform them about their Lord and Master’s sins. It was an empty bluff from Ramanathan which failed to scare Pittard for obvious reasons, and his threat soon faded away without further comment!  Then Ramanathan – himself a lawyer – threatened to go to court to try to stop the nationwide Australian broadcaster SBS showing ‘The Secret Swami’. The SBS producer laughed when she spoke of the threat and said “let them” (sue). Mr. Ramanathan got nowhere near to litigation!

The BBC documentary still stands legally unassailable, also despite major efforts to quash the broadcasting of it by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation. despite legal threats and a meeting with CBC officials by the very rich devotee, Dr. V.P. Singh, Central Co-ordinator of the Sri Sathya Sai Baba Organization of Canada. Over 400 devotees complained to CBC by phone but were ignored in the interests of free speech and complete trust in the professionality and fairness of the BBC journalists. That is how weak the Sathya Sai case is. The documentary shows Sathya Sai Baba telling a fat lie to the public – that he had ‘brought up’ out of his stomach a golden lingam weighing three tons. Really?

Yes, the fact is that Sathya Sai Baba and his Sathya Sai Organisation are virtually powerless to hinder free speech by the free media of the world, though they can suppress every murmur of dissent within their ever more tightly closing ranks and also – by virtue of their financial clout and corrupt power – can apparently control much of what comes out in the Indian press. This is the self-proclaimed Almighty, All-Powerful, All-Knowing, Incarnate Saviour of the World who sent Jesus to earth and is worshipped by all deities as the Creator of the Universe! One has to smile!
