I was 80 as of September, 2016, & am healthy and still with unimpaired mind and memory, untroubled by beliefs I once held and investigated until they collapsed, so that wider and deeper understanding took their place. It is liberating to defend the facts and truth that have been made known to me. Barry Pittard has paid tribute to the courage and humanity of Basava Premanand, the best known Indian rationalist, who has just died of cancer. For many decades, Premanand stood up to the powerful forces in the Indian government, political and justice system that protect Sathya Sai Baba.
