Sathya Sai Baba Deceptions Exposed

Exposing major deceits by guru Sathya Sai Baba in India, incl. murders cover-up & widely alleged sexual abuse

Sai Baba God Incarnate needs Duke of Edinburgh endorsement?

Posted by robertpriddy on October 14, 2009

There was a furore when The Guardian published an article about how one of the many thousands of young recipients of the Duke of Edinburgh Award wrote the name of Sathya Sai Baba instead of his own. Perhaps most extraordinary was the zeal with which the Sai Baba authorities posted a major web page enthusing over how Sathya Sai Baba had received a Duke of Edinburgh Award! Why would the self-proclaimed Creator of the Universe, God Incarnate, and the Deity of All Deities (claiming to be the Father who sent Jesus too!) need the endorsement of an award scheme intended to encourage young people to do enterprising things? It is bizarre in the extreme.

Radio Sai, run by Dr. G. Venkataraman [Deputy Chairman of Sai Baba’s international organisation] was made to remove the false propaganda after an intervention by Mr. Peter Westgarth (Awards’ Chief Executive Officer). However, the Sathya Sai authorities under Venkataraman soon re-inserted the offending propaganda on its site in a supposed ‘archived’ page. [Note: the link to this page of Radio Sai archives as shown below is, however, temporarily unavailable]

Why, one wonders, are they so determined to show that this supposed ‘Omnipotent God Incarnate‘ is approved of by the Duke of Edinburgh, based on a falsification of the name of an award recipient! This somehow defeats the imagination.

SAI-SinghIt appears that the Indian Government, whose Prime Minister is a foot-worshipping devotee of Sai Baba, has plans to get his guru whitewashed by the UK, which process was started years ago by Sai-devotee ex-PM Vajpayee when Blair was in Downing Street.

Prince Edward, the Earl of Wessex in his capacity as Trustee of The Award is visiting India. It was announced in the Court Circular that on 12 Oct The High Commissioner in New Delhi, Sir Richard Stagg, gave a dinner party for him. The British Foreign and Commonwealth Office has most probably prepared the ground with the Indians, suggesting that some sort of rapprochement may be reached with the Indian authorities to get the Sathya Sai Baba cult public royal approval. The Foreign Office is perfectly capable of using the Earl for its own ends of getting the Indians alongside politically and economically in terms of inward investment to the bankrupt UK economy. The signs are that the Foreign Office appear to accept the argument that to criticise Sai Baba is to insult India.

It will be interesting to see what comes of these shenanigans… will Sathya Sai Baba be praised by Prince Edward, by the FCO, or will he be given a special award by the Duke of Edinburgh? Seems unlikely… but one never knows!
