85th Birthday: Golden Age, Prema Sai Baba

In the run-up to yet another birthday celebration of the guru most widely-accused of sexual abuse, fraud and even murder involvement in India – who famously claimed he would appear on the lunar sphere -, let us look at what some of his many lunatic fringe followers make of his claim that he will ‘take rebirth’ in the form of ‘Prema Sai Baba’! All this kind of thing attracts loonies the way honeypots attract flies… and not least the foot-worshipping devotee Prime Minister of India, Manmohan Singh, who will attend the bash  and the female devotee President Pratibha Patil (who will appear on the Ladies Day granted by Sai Baba at his ashram, where ladies are otherwise treated as non-entities).

Here is what one Sai fanatic (Nirmal of Vancouver) writes, who also believes in Prema Sai says about the promised Golden Age:- “Baba’s is an unfolding gospel. He adds to His revelation daily. We sit, mere spectators, watching and waiting for the golden moment to arrive when He announces Himself to those in the world who remain unaware of His Presence on Earth. Talk circulates of an impending economic crisis, during which the leaders of the world turn to Baba as the only one who can solve it. Miracles occur such as Ganesha statues drinking milk. Food animals such as salmon and cod disappear from the Earth’s oceans and whole herds of cattle are infected with disease and must be destroyed. To what extent are these evidences of Baba’s activity in pushing and pulling the world towards some unknown consummation? We cannot know until Baba unfolds for us the whole of His Plan.” [The writer of this in 1997 – see scan on right – seems to hint that he himself may be Prema Sai! ]

But there are others who claim to be Prema Sai already (see eg. below), though his birth is supposed to come well after Sathya Sai departs this earth. No doubt others will claim to be Prema Sai in the future and, if he has some of the requirements at least, will surely have a large following, that is quite simply the name of the game in India:-

World transition – love and light? Rumours circulated by Sathya Sai Baba at regular intervals of big changes coming (sometimes very disastrous ones! See here) keep devotees in suspense, fear and/or hope for the future. They seem incapable of looking back across all the failed predictions and direct lies Sai Baba has perpetrated over the decades. For example, the New Zealand devotees, Poppy and Arthur Hillcoat, visited Cherepovets, Russia) last May. Poppy said she saw Rita and Robert Bruce just before leaving for Russia, and – as reported on the Russian Forum was told by them:

“Yes, exactly they are. At the conference Rita and Robert conducted a one-day workshop of ‘parenting school’ and a workshop on ‘family and marriage’.
I do not remember exact titles. And it was Rita Bruce whom Swami told about practically instant transformation of people’s consciousness after his 80th anniversary.”

Indeed, devotees are still deluded by these promises, and still believe in an immanent golden age, I recently received a mail from a son of the Danish Sai Organization leaders Thorbjørn (deceased) and Marianne Meyer (the brother of that son was genitally molested by Sai Baba when 14 years old). He has reverted to belief in SB and ended his mails with:- “Within the coming 2 years all will come into the light and truth“! This delusion is not uncommon, I have met devotees through the years who have insisted that Baba has told them – in one way or another (including showing them maps and/or models of a changed globe)- that a great cleansing upheaval of earth will come very soon, that many countries will be physically affected, and that this heralds the Golden Age (in which truth and righteousness triumphs etc. etc.). One can only pity such confused and helpless dupes…
