Sathya Sai Baba crying (video)

“Tears should be shed only for God and not for anyone else. Whatever one’s grief one should not shed tears.
Tears may flow out of joy or enthusiasm or ecstasy, but not from a feeling of sorrow.”
[Sathya Sai Speaks Volume 28 – Ch. 10, p. 113]

Sathya Sai Baba one shedding tears from his journal Sanathana Sarathi

See the short video clip from his 85th birthday celebrations in which he breaks down and cries during the ceremony. (Click here – 3.9 Mbs This video clip was extracted and compiled from a very long – boring – video). Sai Baba has spoken of “cleansing yourself with tears of repentance”
(Sathya Sai Speaks Vol. 11, p. 295) and that divinity is won “by tears of repentance” (Sathya Sai Speaks Vol. 2, p. 106). If that were so, Sathya Sai Baba evidently needs to shed a great deal of tears, considering what he has done in breaking trust and abusing followers… Anyhow, the evidence is that he cries a lot. Since he claims to be God and that tears should never be shed for anyone else, then he would consequently be crying for himself! However, it is reported that Sai Baba broke into tears each time he heard himself referred to as ‘Sri,Sri,Sri Sathya Sai Baba’! THAT is hardly being totally unaffected by praise or blame!

There have been numerous reports that Sathya Sai Baba sits and cries a lot. I first heard this in 1988 when Professor Gokak (deceased) told a Hawaiian devotee (Ms. Kanta Devi) we knew well who visited him daily how he was very worried because Sai Baba was “very depressed “ and cried each morning he visited him because he had a hairline hip fracture and could only sit in his chair all day. This was shocking and impossible to understand at the time because it conflicted with everything written and said about Sai Baba and how detached he is from everything, from all pleasure and pain. We had simply to put it out of mind as it seemed wrong somehow… so indoctrinated were we.

Next time we heard of Sai Baba shedding tears was at a ceremony to commemorate his dead brother, Janakiramiah, who was foremost in organizing the execution by police of four intruder devotees in Sai Baba’s bedroom in the infamous 1993 event .

…He immediately started talking about how Rama felt when his beloved brother Lakshmana fainted on the battlefield. Rama said, “How can I ever find a brother like you? It is not possible!” Swami went on; several times His voice cracked and fathered, and two or three times He had to stop mid-sentence because He actually started to sob! It was a heart-rending moment, the closest Swami has ever come to outright, real crying.”  (see here)

The next time Sai Baba’s tears were reported was in the following e-mail sent to us:-

“Just got back from Swami’s holy ground Parthi. Swami is in top condition and does his best in such old age to help his village people who still struggle from poverty and lack of water. According to Swami’s close friends, he has become very emotional recently, often sitting in tears. It can be a little difficult for ordinary people to understand.
Swami has problems in moving, has had five fractures in 2003, 2004 and 2005, and only one was cured.”

That Sathya Sai Baba sits and cries so much illustrates the absurd dishonesty of his years of boastful claims to be unmoved by any pain or pleasure! His tears are clearly not those of ecstatic joy as entire demeanour reeks of depression and decline. In the birthday evening video (excerpt 8 mins)  one can see how he is more like a wooden idol than a living Divinity. How come that this supposed self-proclaimed infallible and ever youthful Avatar is in such a state? There will as usual surely be no answers from his staff or followers… all they can do is try to pretend that it is some kind of miracle of showing his humanity (well, it is not showing divinity)!

Sathya Sai Baba died 5 months later still aged 84 (in his 85th year). It was reported that he cried early on during his hospitalization too. His crying at that age casts a strangeand revealing light in his statement made many years earlier when he was in the best of health:-
