Sathya Sai Baba’s inferiority-superiority complex

Posted by robertpriddy on June 12, 2011

The ignorance of Sathya Sai Baba about so many things has, amazingly, been covered over and buried wherever possible by his officials and servitors. Yet it was well known to people like V.K. Narasimhan (his editor of his journal) who removed a lot of Sai Baba’s worst blunders… but., strangely, let a number of sheer absurdities pass too! (See below). Sai Baba left school early and never went to any college. Countless students know what Raman Sharma – now a professional academic who was a student and ‘form boy’ with Sai Baba in the 1990s – wrote about this yesterday. They were not allowed to mention any such things or even to surf the Internet to find criticism of Sathya Sai Baba, but then the majority knew in advance most of what has been revealed by dissidents since 2000:-

“One thing repeatedly stressed was never to contradict Sai Baba, along with the remark “you don’t know to whom you are talking…” In any sort of discussion SB always had the final word. His devotees also do things in a similar manner (i.e. devoid of logic) and whenever they seem to be on the wrong side of any discussion, they always end it with “Swami Knows best…Swami is God…etc” Of course it was fun to argue with SB as he had very little knowledge on scientific subjects and would try and reason out his arguments in a most illogical manner. I think SB had an Inferiority complex of not being well-educated …so he did try to speak on science which was very amusing and gave us ample opportunity to laugh to our hearts content. Such behaviour on his part was considered as “feigned ignorance” etc by teachers who had implicit faith in Sai Baba. (by Raman Sharma)

The kind of inferiority complex which many person unfortunately develop due to lack of education and intellectual achievements has, in many known historical cases, been accompanied by a superiority complex. The inferiority itself is often instrumental in giving rise to the feelings of superiority… a psychological compensation reaction or ‘mechanism’.So that there can be no doubt that Sathya Sai Baba was very far from having omniscience (i.e. knowing all and everything), a few examples of his documented statements can serve here. There are plenty more throughout his discourses and recorded conversations.

The earth must have always been lopsided, then, as these natural events have occurred for countless millennia

So think how much magnetic power is
stored in sports,
rock and show venues!

and from then on he could never walk unassisted and soon was bound to his wheelchair

Another deceit! He continued to give padanaamaskar and Lord it until the sickness unto death took him

The superiority complex of Sathya Sai Baba
hardly needs documenting, it surpasses all megalomania of any previous claimant. It is a classical ‘god complex and Messiah complex’ (see here on Wikipedia). Even if you believe far less than half you hear of him, you are in deep trouble. Will he go down in history as the Saviour of Mankind from global disaster (as he claims) and human evil? If so, he would necessarily displace Jesus Christ and Christianity, Jehova and Judaism, Buddha and Buddhism, Islam and Allah and Whoever and Whatever? One must certainly hope not. His many deceptions – so firmly demonstrated on the Internet – and his bogus “universal religion” are accepted by a long line of Indian Presidents and Prime Ministers – and also by those of today and much of the Indian Government! It is an enigma… for can they truly believe in the following words of Sathya Sai Baba? They must… or else they’d have to view him as suffering from a megalomania.

I am all deities in one. You may endeavour your best for thousands of years and have all mankind with you in your search. But you cannot understand My Reality.” US ed. of Kasturi’s Sathyam Sivam Sundaram Vol 3 page 315)

There was no one to understand Me until I created the whole world” (Official biographer N. Kasturi’s direct quote in ‘Pathway to Peace’ p. 64.)

Sathya Sai Baba said in 1968: “This is a human form in which every Divine entity, every Divine principle, that is to say, all the names and forms ascribed by man to God, are manifest… You are very fortunate that you have the chance to experiences the bliss of the vision of the form, which is the form of all gods, now, in this life itself.”(Sathya Sai Speaks Volume VIII. page 99f)

God can do anything. He has all power in the palm of His Hand. My Body, like all other bodies, is a temporary habitation; but, My Power is eternal, all-pervasive, ever-dominant.” Christmas Day Discourse, Bombay 1970. ed. of Kasturi’s Sathyam Sivam Sundaram Vol 3 page 136)

On previous occasions when God incarnated on earth, the bliss of recognising Him in the incarnation was vouchsafed only after the physical embodiment had left the world, in spite of plenty of evidences of His Grace. But, ponder a moment on this Sathya Sai Manifestation; in this age of rampant materialism, aggressive disbelief and irreverence, what is it that brings to It the adoration of millions from all over the world? You will be convinced that the basic reason for this is the fact that this is the Supra-worldly Divinity in Human Form.” (Sathya Sai Baba 17/5/1968. Sathya Sai Speaks Vol. 8, p 100)

If I had come as Narayana with four arms, they would have put me in a circus, charging money for people to see Me. If I had come only as a man, like any other man, who would listen to me? So I had to come in this human form but with more than the human power and wisdom.” (US ed. of Kasturi’s Sathyam Sivam Sundaram -Vol 3 page 309)

Further, on the task of the revival of dharma, he says “… who has to take it up? It was said that I have taken up this Form in answer to the prayers of sadhus (noble souls) and others… I have come, because I felt I had to come. I resolved upon this… This campaign will succeed, it will not fail. The welfare of the world will be ensured through the fostering of the Godly everywhere, and more particularly of these ancient reservoirs of the ancient wisdom of this land.”(Sathya Sai Speaks Vol. 3, page 205)
