Professor Haraldsson’s flawed scrutiny of Sathya Sai Baba

Posted by robertpriddy on December 31, 2012

PRELIMINARY NOTE The latest edition of ‘Modern Miracles’ by Erlendur Haraldsson is a travesty of investigation and suppression of many testimonies of fraudulent materialisation and countless other deceptions. Haaraldsson’s failings are dealt with in the following web pages:-

Erlendur Haraldsson, Ph.D – A Parapsychologist Fails To Admit Badly Flawed Data

The  book ‘Modern Miracles’  by the parapsychologist and Professor Erlendur Haraldsson (previously published as ‘Miracles are my Visiting Cards), has been cited many times as an endorsement of Sathya Sai Baba as a genuine ‘man of miracles’ due to its weight of testimony about his materializations and diverse explanations on that Haraldsson and Karl Osis could find no proof of his faking. That Haraldsson also included proofs of the falsity of Sai Baba’s claim to have resurrected the US millionaire Walter Cowan from the dead was overlooked entirely by all Sai devotees. Also ignored was the defection and critical testimony of the once declared ‘soul brother’ Krishna Kumar who lived together with Sai Baba for a long period in his early manhood. I met Haraldsson in Bangalore in 1988 and was with him when he first presented his book to Sai Baba at Prashanthi and since then my wife and I have been together with him in the ashram and on several long visits to my home in Norway. As the following mails demonstrate, we began to diverge on a serious issue in our attitudes towards Sai Baba, which eventually caused me to question Haraldsson’s silence on what he knew about – and really thought about – Sathya Sai Baba. Having invested his professional prestige in parapsychology and in being as objective as possible, Haraldsson nonetheless grew evidently more and more loath to go properly into the emerging testimonies about sexual abuse, sleight-of-hand and other fraudulent ‘miracles’ as well as SB’s deep murder involvement. The embarrassment to his reputation for probably not having carried out sufficiently detailed critical investigations, not least due to his being partially charmed by Sai Baba and many of his followers. To be vindicated for a deep interest in researching such a controversial and even ridiculed discipline by finding a person who seemed to ‘materialise’ objects was surely preferable to finding it another highly unlikely and specious claim bringing his parapsychology into further disfavour.

eh-to-rpriddy@onlineAs the exposé grew and testimonies flooded in on sex abuses and all manner of other untoward behaviour by Sai Baba, it became important for me to know why Haraldsson was so reluctant to report in detail the allegations he had heard and told me he believed. I came into a considerable moral dilemma as to whether I should make known what he was refusing to speak out about.  I eventually decided that I must confer with some of my most trusted professional friends on this, including the academic Alexandra Nagel, who had researched Sathya Sai Baba in considerable detail. The e-mails now released for the first time below show the nature of my concerns their views on the matter. At the same time, fanatical defenders of Sai Baba were doing their utmost to destroy my reputation as a truthful person through massive Internet activity and stalking, not least occasionally using Haraldsson as a figurative stick with which to beat me and others! (A recent example was Dr. O. P. Sudrania’s hypocritical comments on SB obituary in The Telegraph, The Guardian and elsewhere). I considered most strongly that the public has a right to know the truth about Sathya Sai Baba’s sexual molestations, which Haraldsson openly admitted must be true – but only to me.  To help researchers understand the full background for my exposure of Haraldsson’s failure to report anything negative about Sai Baba’ person and behaviour, despite his scorn for what he called Sai Baba’s rude, thoroughly ignorant prima donna behaviour, a coarse villager whose words cannot be trust at all I did not take the step of going public with his frank e-mails about SB’s homosexuality to me (click on inset thumbnail) on the matter until 2011, only after several further efforts to get him to understand the damage his book and subsequent supportive efforts to Sai Baba were causing. Until this date (2012) he has not shown the slightest interest in the human damage caused by Sathya Sai Baba, calling those who gave their all to Sai Baba ‘fools’ especially his sexual and fraudulent activities and had refused to write what else he knows and thinks about Sathya Sai Baba (i.e. a coarse and rude villager whose words cannot be trust at all). In May 2002 he paid one of several visits at our home when he made clear that people he had interviewed in India has said that Sai Baba was a homosexual. This included an elderly close servitor of Sai Baba in the 60s and 70s called Major Talwas, who told him directly that Sai Baba used boys for sexual purposes!

More very revealing e-mails originally sent by Erlendur Haraldsson to me, Robert Priddy,  express his true view on Sathya Sai Baba’s personality and his homosexuality. Read them by clicking here.

I have done my level best to inform him of developments, but he avoided reading most of my documentation and changed the subject time and again in conversation because he was not interested in testimonies or much else that showed the extent of SB’s deception, fraud and criminality. I gave him a DVD of ‘The Secret Swami’ but he told me he could not be bothered to watch more than the opening bit! Now I hear he is planning a revised book on Sai Baba… it is only to be hoped that he pulls himself together as a researcher, orients himself properly and comes forth with his fuller evaluation of the entire Sai Baba phenomenon, not just the alleged miracles. His failure to detect the way SB always misdirected attention with a typical magician’s trick to cover his movements before palming objects (also seen on numerous videos) shows that his claimed study of these techniques to have been sadly lacking or forgotten at the crucial time.  That he could not find anywhere that the trinkets and other objects Sai Baba ‘materialized’ while they are sold all over Andhra Pradesh and were delivered surreptitiously to his interview room by a known individual should be addressed by him, as well as numerous other precautions that could have been taken. (See for example Gogineni‘s, Professor Beyerstein‘s and Premanand‘s criticisms).

A  friend in Denmark (now deceased) who was disillusioned with Sathya Sai Baba after having centered his life fully on service to the Sai Baba organization always wanted to know any important facts from me, so I mailed him to put his mind at rest about the sexual allegations… that even EH believed Sai Baba to be an active homosexual and with young boys and men. There is a scan of that mail on the right, click on thumbnail to read it.

EH-e-mail-2002-to EddieHelshøi

My efforts to get Haraldsson to answer pertinent questions as to what he knew and to publish how he really evaluated the behaviour and personality of Sathya Sai Baba (very different indeed from the impression his book and articles give) are illustrated by strictly private mail exchanges from 200, posted in public for the first time – click here to read them.

Indictment of entire political, judicial and law enforcement system in India begins

Posted by robertpriddy on December 29, 2012

IBN-BraveheartAfter twelve years of Sa Baba dissidents pointing out the enormous failure of Indian justice, our evaluations are again justified by the latest huge scandal around the infamous gang rape and murder (and not least the initial passive reactions to it by diverse Indian officials). We have widely documented direct cover-ups at all levels and the rejection of a petition (involving many affidavits testifying to sexual and other crimes by Sathya Sai Baba), by a succession of Prime Ministers up to an including Manmohan Singh (Sai-worshipping man of non-action on sexual crime) and not least by the Supreme Court of India of in quashing a major petition backed by many affidavits against Sathya Sai Baba, even destroying their records of the petition itself! Even the ex-High Chief Justice Bhagwati, a total worshipper of the controversial guru, admits having carried out his Lord and master’s will in everything!  Fortunately, the massive healthy reactions of the main public show that the attitude in India has undergone a sea-change and at last been made into a serious public issue as a result of the gang rape and murder in the current tragic and very highly profiled case.

TV presenter Sagarika on CNN-IBN interviewed the ex-Commissioner of Police, Delhi, Ved Marwah about the horrific rape case , a case they agreed “must become a test case, must become a turning point, it must become the instance whereby the system changes..”

Ved Marwah said: “What has happened shames every citizen of this country and it has touched the heart of every country…”  It also expresses the “pent-up anger which is coming out against the visible organs of the government.”  He agreed it is a “very, very serious issue and all these issue need to be addressed and, unfortunately, if we go by the past history, the various committees and commissions and recommentations… very little action has been taken.”

He continued: “This case has put the spotlight on the shortcomings of our administrative system, our political system and the indifference of the general public to this sort of violence…” while he also views the events as “showing that the average Indian citizen is still very much law-abiding (and) it still wants its criminal justice system to deliver justice effectively.”

Among women protesters, the presenter continues, are those saying that “Crimes against women are not women’s issues, violence against women are not women’s issues, these are humanitarian mainstream political democratic issues…” it has equally to do with “men, male politicians, male police officers, male jurists, all have to get involved in this issue…” also “every male police officer and every many and boy in this country should be equally responsible for ensuring  the safety and respect for women in our society.”

Let it be realised that it is first and foremost those lax appeasers of rapists and abusers who are in powerful positions in the government, judiciary and police etc. in India which are the real culprits behind the current state of affairs, not the main populace. They learned the horrific state of affairs concerning physical and sexual abuse of children in India when the Ministry of Women and Child Development of the Government of India released a major report by independent researchers including Save the Children and UNICEF showing that over half those questioned had been victims fo sexual abuse. India’s Minister for Child Development, Renuka Chowdury, called the findings disturbing and said it was time to end the conspiracy of silence surrounding child abuse, but little or nothing was done, as is so evident now.  The Sai Baba exposé can indeed endorse the view that “very little action has been taken” in sexual abuse cases since we have seen the despicable techniques of bureaucratic run-around imposed on those who appeal under the Right to Information act.  The defence of Sai Baba against sex abuses in a formal signed statement by the former Prime Minister A.V. Vajpayee and High Chief Justice Bhagwati (both his devotees) was not based on the slightest investigation of the evidence, but simply asserted as an opinion! See the way a complaint against that proclamation was treated by Indian officialdom. Sathya Sai Baba was actually declared an Indian ‘national treasure’ by the Hindu-nationalist government ruled by his devotees, even though most Hindus have never recognised Sai Baba as a genuine pundit or ‘avatar’. His involvement in ordering the execution of four of his devotees in cold blood by the police was totally hidden by the police, causing an uproar and demand for a CBI investigation. That neared its conclusion but was quashed without further notice by the government. That was perhaps the most dishonourable and cowardly action taken by any Indian Prime and Home Ministers in the modern era! Now Manmohan Singh has to utter his condemnation and promises of reform because it is a national crisis… but he has already repeatedly shown his direct endorsement of one of India’s most widely accused pedophiles and murder accomplices! The same goes of Sonia Gandhi and any number of other prominent political figures in India who attended the funeral of Sai Baba last year.

Sai Baba ashrams: Christmas not remotely as it was

Christmas Morning Carols at PN

Christmas Morning Carols at PN

The propaganda site by saibabaofindia.com shows a long drawn-out video of the foreigners’ choir on Christmas Day in front of the temple, the site claiming that over 300 choirsters from many countries were present. However, at no time does the video show more than 15 to 20 Caucasian men, plus perhaps 30 to maximum 50 Caucasian women. The choir is interspersed with ethnic Indians and there is plenty of elbow and leg room as the participants are spread out to give the impression of a larger assembly. In the background a large number of  Indian visitors – mostly apparently villagers – are seen. The temple compound is not at all full and there is no crush… far indeed from the jam-packing of some former Christmas days. The video relies much on old footage of Sai Baba from over 10 years past – well before he became lame (i.e.  2002). In short, the numbers game is still being played for all it is worth… as if that will convince devotees that all is well with their movement and organization! On the temple facade, a large image of Jesus (left) is matched by a similar sized one of Sai Baba (right), as if Jesus had ever been widely accused of serial pedophilia and involvement in getting his any of followers executed!

Not exactly a world shaking event!

Brindavan bhajans – Not exactly world shaking!

Meanwhile, at Brindavan is virtually deserted now. A tiny handful of devotees still stay in Whitefield and very few people attend bhajans, which are only on Sundays (otherwise recorded bhajans can be heard daily). One can but ask what there left now for Sai devotees to live for, really… after most of them focused their entire lives on Sai Baba’s person more than the works he advised, but he is truly gone, gone, gone with the wind!

Sai Baba and Santa Claus

Prashanthi Nilayam - light in the darkness?

Prashanthi Nilayam – light in darkness?

Those who rule at Prashanthi Nilayam have this year called on the Sathya Sai Organization of  New Zealand to decorate Prashanti Nilayam for Christmas. (It’s cheaper that way!). The  result so far is a gaudy and tasteless importation of Western Christmas symbols in neon lights, a parody of attempted multiculturalism. One can but suspect that – behind all the mere talk of brotherliness and universality ad.inf. , the main goal of the powers-that-be in Prashanthi is to attract as much money from abroad to help top up the rapidly depleting coffers and keep the gravy train for corrupt Trust members and others running. All reports and photo/video glimpses of Puttaparthi and the ashram show that it is virtually a ghost town, so now they can only call on the ghosts of Christmas Past. See the short video clip (2Mb in wmv download) of Santa Claus in years gone by worshipping at the feet of Sai Baba (What do any Western children there make of THAT absurdity?)

Foreign visitors this year are unlikely to exceed a few hundred and so far no former leading foreign officials or devotees are visible among the mostly elderly men and women which are practicing for the usual Westerner’s choir. It is pathetic to see these unwitting and most likely very well-intentioned foreigners who are unaware that Sathya Sai Baba most undoubtedly was a serial molester of boys and young men and was deeply involved in bringing about the execution of four of his devotees in 1993! That they have been duped and know little or nothing of the utmost duplicity of those officials and their helpers involved in sustaining myths about Sai Baba only reflects their ignorance of how India really is and to what levels of double-accounting and face-saving nationalist Hindu pride can go. Not surprising there are so few visitors for there is virtually nothing to go there for any more other than a tropical holiday to meet old ‘brothers and sisters’ and live well cheaply while surrounded by a society of the poorest of the world’s poor. (‘Silent Night’ is on the programme, but there is only an eternal racket of one kind of another at Prashanthi Nilayam, the ‘Abode of Supreme Peace’, where surrounding shops play loud and strident bhajan music by day, dogs fight in the night and so forth).

I include a comment made on yesterday’s blog about Christmas at Prashanti:-

Submitted on 2012/12/24 at 7:50 pm

Thank you for yet another interesting update, Robert. I presume the Satish Naik you quote is the same who uploaded 66 YouTube videos up til now, all hailing Sai Baba as a great avatar. (For an unintended double entendre title see ‘Baba and Banking’ by Prof. Anil Kumar e.g.) And such a ‘nice’, heartfelt warning mr. Naik gives regarding ‘the demeaning comments that are being posted in reply to the videos on Swami by miscreants who failed to understand the glory and magnitude of Sri Sathya Sai Baba…’, by the way. Being critical is equal to being a miscreant, is it?

A certain E.D. knows how to handle this intricate matter of comments. She runs a blog called ‘SathyaSaiMemories’, no comment allowed whatsoever, and reports the following from Christmassy Puttaparthi today:

UPDATE ON THE CHRISTMAS ACTIVITIES
24 DEC 2012 On my arrival since late November, the vibes in the temple have been wonderful. The darshan could not have been better and there was a peace and a respect that really touched my heart. I could not have been happier… But Christmas time has brought in the crowds big-time with many village people from all over India. There are about 10,000 OR SO I AM TOLD… This has added a touch of chaos to the ashram, and has rather dampened the spirit of Xmas this year for the few foreign visitors who are here.

It is a pity as we only have two days in the year in which to celebrate the Christian religion and it’s traditions, and this year this has been brought down to the bare bones… The choir has worked hard and I am sure they will sing their hearts out this afternoon. The decorations around the ashram have been lovingly created to make a festival of lights that is truly breath-taking. The inside decorations are not like those of the old days when Swami was here physically with us but they are nice all the same.

I could be wrong, of course, but judging by the contents of her blog, I think she is an Early Devotee from the West, herself, one of the very few still going and staying there. Do notice how she is playing the numbers game you explain in your blog (a crowd of about 10.000 …), then bashes the many Indian village visitors who constitute this vast number at the same time, because they seem to be spoiling the bare-bone Xmassy feeling by their chaossy presence. Life must be hard in post-baba prasanthi, indeed.

Merry Christmas in Puttaparthi 2012

‘OMNIPRESENT’ HINDU DEITY WANTED TO CASH IN ON CHRISTMAS

Sathya Sai Baba Xmas cash-hype

Sathya Sai Baba Xmas hype

Sathya Sai Baba Xmas hype

In the latter years before the failure of his heart, lungs, kidneys, liver and brain, Sathya Sai Baba did his utmost to attract Westerners to visit during Xmas using massed Santa Clauses – children and youth dressed up in the style of the famous Coca-Cola Santa advert series and cavorting about in tasteless fashion, as numerous photo, Xmas cards and not least very long, very boring videos from Sai Radio demonstrated. In his infamous Christmas Day Discourse of 2000 he showed what an unforgiving and dishonest person he really was, accusing those who reported on his sexual abuses as being paid to do so and being ‘Judases’ (as if he were the fabled Jesus Christ Almighty!)

Amusingly, he added, “There are some jealous and petty minds who do false and imaginary propaganda. I take no note of this”– but he noted it right there!  (See his damning message and further evidence here)

Among any amount of false conjecture in his usual Christmas Day harangues that Sathya Sai Baba claimed to be fact about Jesus, he further demonstrated in 2001 his true spirit by calling his critics ‘verily demons’… not what Jesus taught people to say according to Christian history and theology. Yet he had the sheer arrogance to proclaim that he was the Father of Jesus who sent his son to earth! See scan of 1972 Christmas Day proclamation that Jesus foretold the coming of Sathya Sai “Baa-baa” etc.

christmas-puttapartiAnd what will happen this Christmas? Click on thumbnail image (right) to see. Someone called R. Satish Naik is trying to raise hopes that something will, but we can be sure it will be a very minor gathering and no doubt more boring than ever since interest in SSB has dwindled to such an extent. The writer of this attempt at morale-boosting reckons that 3000 foreign devotees will visit. This is surely another case of the famous ‘Sai Baba Numbers Game’. (i.e. Think of a number, multiply by 10… that is the answer!).

We are told: ‘New Zealand to decorate Puttaparthi’, as if the nation were to be there! And “All the devotees of New Zealand are very excited for being blessed to decorate Swami’s Abode and about 300 devotees would be on this job from a week’s time. Devotees from various other countries would also be visiting Prashanthi ,which includes about 50 Youths from Australia, close to 900 devotees from South Africa and so on.” They will constitute ‘a good number of QUALITY devotees’… no mention of who evaluated their quality (rich, incorruptible, not pushy, docile, well-behaved… not like the lower quality of most followers?). No explanation of  ‘a good number’ either. Indeed, at the 70th birthday a group from New Zealand led by Mr. Arthur Hillcoat were informed by Sai Baba that he wanted 5,000 service workers (‘Seva Dal‘) from their country present in 1996 at the Birthday. But at the 70th birthday, by far the biggest foreign contingent came from the USA – 750 persons in all. New Zealand could only produce a mere handful even then…

Apropos Sai Baba’s ‘infallible knowledge’ and New Zealand, he told them at an interview on November 6, 1995:- “All coming from the French Bomb tests is over New Land.” [You mean New Zealand, Baba?] Yes, New Zealand. The mutton eat the grass, the cows eat the grass, all contaminated. All butter, cheese, curds and other dairy products all contaminated. Many witnesses in New Zealand. In New Zealand a glass of wine is better than a small teaspoon of milk. Fish in the oceans is contaminated. In Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Japan, and China, if people eat fish they will get cancer. Early in October Baba told the New Zealanders that the bombs have weakened the earth’s crust and will cause a chain of volcanic eruptions. There could be up to 8 more bombs. All oceans are contaminated. [This has now happened].”
So much for Sai Baba’s ideas about what he is said to have called “New Sailand”! What a self-defeating clown Sai Baba could be!

The deadly exciting programme for those who risk visiting 'Heaven on Earth'

The deadly exciting programme for those who risk visiting ‘Heaven on Earth’

Note how the fact shines forth through the hyped account that devotees have left in large numbers, and how the aim is now to pray to Sathya Sai Baba to bring back those who left him (i.e. known in Sai circles as “miscreants”, which includes all who did not like his massive breaks of faith, massive untruths, inordinate boasting, misuse of donations, genital oiling and other pedophile acts or that he was evidently behind the infamous 1993 executions of four intruders!). Interestingly the writer of the mail attacks ‘groupism’ among the heads of Sai centers (and ego) among devotees and also raises a warning finger:  “The POSITION is given you by Swami, only to let you know that you have a long way to go in service path”. In other words, things have evidently not changed, in-fighting is rife and self-appointed moralists imitate Sai Baba’s constant denigration of followers! This will make for some ‘merry’ Christmas (laughter and fun were never remotely part of any Prashanthi celebrations anyhow).

Genital oiling by Sathya Sai Baba

Posted by robertpriddy on December 20, 2012

For those who may still not be informed, the sexual activities of Sathya Sai Baba need to be held up for public scrutiny again and again.  It is an undisputed fact that Sathya Sai Baba took down the trousers of many young men and boys, including his students, intimately handled their genitals and rubbed a fragrant oil – also sometimes the ‘holy ash’ vibuthi. Numerous young men from the West, as well as various students, reported that SB also rubbed vigorously so as to (try to) cause an erection, often while or after kissing them voluptuously on the mouth. The reports make very clear that this was Sai baba’s way of ‘grooming’ boys and young men for possible sexual relations with him.

All such things, known to many of the ashram residents to be fact, were long covered up by a number of top leaders in the Satya Sai Organisation! In most countries with a reasonable system of law, the touching of genitals under such circumstances is illegal, being punishable other than when done by a doctor on prior consent of the patient. These genital oilings were undisputed facts, even among Organization officials. Both the former European Central Coordinator of the Sathya Sai Organisation, Thorbjørn Meyer and another Danish Sai VIP, Jørgen Trygved admitted on National Danish TV News that these oilings take place (both men are now deceased). Thorbjørn Meyer  called this act by Satya Sai Baba an “age old Indian oiling ceremony” (http://www.saibaba-x.org.uk/11/dane.htm#oiling). Thomas Meyer, a son of Thorbjørn Meyer, informed me that his younger brother was oiled on the genitals by Sai Baba, also while under the age of consent at 14 years!  He was also instructed not to tell his father! Thorbjørn Meyer never deigned to explain why a number of victims of these strictly unlawful interventions have been subjected to the molestation “ceremony” several times, and were never even asked if they wished for it or if they knew what it may or may not have signified. One student from Sathya Sai Baba’s college at Prashanthi informed the exposé that Sai Baba kept a sponge in a dish under his chair in the private interview room, so he could seem to ‘materialise’ oil just by squeezing the sponge previously.

Devotees of Sai Baba believe that it was done to control sexual feelings and/or to raise the mythical ‘kundalini’ or sleeping serpent which supposedly can raise a person to an enlightened and blissful condition (only very temporarily). Trygved stated that this oiling reduced the sexual energies of young men. A well-known author, Paul William Roberts stated in his book ‘Empire of the Soul’ that he was oiled by Sai Baba “on the chest” – but much later admitted in e-mails that it was on the perineum, i.e. between the gonads and the anus. He also claimed it had a great blissful effect on his consciousness.

Those would-be “spiritual leaders” never explained how the oil works its magic, how they know anything about it or why has ever reduced a testosterone level.  Nor can they say why women have been wholly excluded from these supposedly stupendous blessings from the ‘living Avatar’. No one has been able to produce even a fragment of documentation for this ‘anointing’ from Indian scripture or any reliable historical sources. On the contrary, sexual interference has not place in Indian scripture, see Kushwant Singh’s opinion (brief video clip)

Here is what an authority on Hindu mysticism has to say about the matter:

Regarding this “kundalini raising” matter, there is NOTHING in the literature I’ve ever seen from the Hindu, Buddhist or Taoist tantric traditions or Hindu shaktipat guru traditions – and I have read widely and extensively in this literature – about “raising the kundalini” by sexually molesting male youth. It is a bald lie that Sri Ramakrishna initiated Narendranath (Swami Vivekananda) or anyone else in this manner. The accounts all state quite clearly that he would touch the disciples on the chest or head. He wasn’t taking
them off in private to massage or suck the penis or have male youth do the same to him. I have an extensive library of many rare Buddhist, Taoist and Hindu works (in addition to a huge collection of works from western mystical traditions) and I’ve NEVER read anything that would suggest that what SSathya Sai Baba is doing to male youth has been done by ANY other spiritual master in any tradition. Again, I wrote my M.A. thesis on the cross-cultural phenomenon of shaktipat or “energy empowerment” and I’ve never seen any document that alleged that the “kundalini” or vital force or subtle energy could or should be awakened in this manner.
The question exposing the faulty logic here is that, if the kundalini could be raised in this manner, why isn’t SSathya Sai Baba providing the same service for less attractive young men, or older men, or any females? Barry, please feel free to send this posting to anyone on your list who is either sympathetic or critical of SSathya Sai Baba. It’s time for the truth to be told about this matter of the kundalini and Sathya Sai Baba.
Best wishes to all, Dr. Timothy Conway. Santa Barbara, CA USA.

Prema Sai predicted coming

Posted by robertpriddy on December 17, 2012

Prema Sai Baba's predicted arrival

This was the official ‘story’ which will now need much adjusting!

Remaining devotees of Sathya Sai Baba await his return as a new incarnation, Prema Sai Baba. There is much confusion as to when this may take place, all calculations having been thrown into complete disarray by the failure of Sathya Sai Baba to live into his 90s. Despite specious claims that he DID live to be 96 if one reckons in terms of lunar years, he clearly stated  in 1960 “I will be in this mortal form for 59 years” and in 1961 “I shall be in this body for 58 years more”. (Sathya Sai Speaks Vol. I –  p 198 & Vol 2 – p. 92). He also made several other incompatible predictions of his lifespan.

It has variously been stated that the rebirth will take place either immediately, one year later or else eight years after Sathya Sai Baba would  ‘leave the body’. However, in a book now circulating called ‘Sai Thy Kingdom Come’, the author – a not entirely literate Indian – speculates that Sai Baba will reincarnate (most like in 2014) and live in his Sathya Sai form again for 7 years! Read an analysis of this book by Sreejith Narayan and it’s basis made in 2014 by clicking here. Also see Narasimha Murthy’s claims on Souljourns video about Prema Sai

SBdeath_2022On the Richard Bock film, Aura of Divinity, made in the 1970s, the commentator asserts that Sathya Sai Baba has said that he will be reborn as Prema Sai eight years after his leaving the Sathya Sai body. Since the entire international dating system is claimed by Sai authorities and traditional shastris not to apply to Sai Baba, it’s anyone’s guess when this is supposed to occur.

[ Up-date June 2014: It was claimed (by Isaac Tigrett) that Sai Baba returned in a ‘subtle body’ to hold discourses as Kodaikanal, but this was denied by the Prasanthi Council and also was considered not so by Sreejith Narayan, though his sidekick the bogus ‘the author of scholar’ Waris Faridi believed it. (Neither were present to the event)]

Yet more awkward, Sathya Sai Baba clearly stated that he would be reborn in Doddamalur, 20 kms. due North Mandya District of Karnataka, as reported in most pro-Sai sources. However, he also told his biographer Kasturi, while driving with him past a small village called Chandrapatna in Karnataka State (some 38 kms South West of Bangalore), that he would ”take rebirth” there and that Kasturi would be his mother! Kasturi told this in a lecture for foreigners in January 1985 where I heard him. It was also published somewhere by Kasturi).  Further:-

The Second Coming of Christ, no less!

“Sai Baba speaks of a trinity of Sais. He would live to be 96 years, until 2022; eight years after his death (in 2030) the third Sai, Prema Sai will be born in a village in Mandya district of Karnataka. The three Sai’s will embrace the three major religions of the world — the Shirdi Baba Islam; Satya Sai Baba Hinduism and Prema Sai Christianity. It will be the second coming of Christ.”  from book review in The Tribune, Chandigarth, October 4, 1999. ‘About the other Sai Baba’ by P. D. Shastri (see http://www.saibaba-x.org.uk/7/W/P.D.%20Shastri.htm)

However, other writers had previously reported Sai Baba repeatedly said the future birthplace of Prema Sai would be Gunapalli (or Gunaparthi) on the banks of the River Cauvery. To try to remove doubt, Sai promoters now claim that Doddamalur will be renamed Gunaparthi (or Gunapalli?) after the birth. But Gunaparthy already exists, apparently, according to an MSN report  Such is the nature of rationalization in denial!
(Here are the news outlets which confirm some conflicting reports:-

gunaparthy2-

 Gunaparthy
 Doddamalur

Once again it is a case of “take your pick” and believe what you want. That there are takers and convinced believers of every such published rumour is certain! There are, moreover, persons who claim to be Prema Sai already, and one can bet ones bottom dollar on there being many other claimants as the years roll by! Avatars and saints literally abound in India, virtually all originally self-announced, it is one way out of India’s constant crushing poverty, with the prospect of a great fortune and all the worldly benefits it brings with it to a community that can boast a true avatar. Sathya Sai Baba demonstrated this for all his many copyists. What about Chandrapatna, then… will that also be renamed, we wonder? All quite typical of Sathya Sai Baba’s shifting fantasies to feed the rumour mill that made him what he was!

Donald Taylor wrote “A way in which Sai Baba has met a potential challenge to his authority is to thwart any discussion about his successor… By defusing the problem of succession, he also defused the problem of authority. All authority remains firmly in his hands as long as he lives. Anyone else who claims this authority in Sai Baba’s lifetime will be recognized as a usurper or imposter.” (Charismatic Authority in the Sathya Sai Baba movement” 1987, Tavistock Publications, pp.119-133)

85th Birthday: Golden Age, Prema Sai Baba

Golden Age discredited
UPDATE as of june 2015! PREMA SAI IS FOUND IN DODDAMALUR, SOUTH INDIA – A 4-YEAR OLD BOY. This will upset Narasimha Murthy’s applecart unless he and his cronies can somehow readjust their narrative to include and embrace this discovery. Of course, it is all hoo-ha, typical Hindu guru delusion and manufactured divinity.

Sai Trust in the footsteps of Sathya Sai Baba

Posted by robertpriddy on December 15, 2012

The Sathya Sai Central Trust continues in the footsteps of Sathya Sai Baba and those of its own former directors who were either caught in embezzlement (and dismissed by Sai Baba himself, such as Colonel Joga Rao and Head of ashram Narayanen). One of the few former Telugu-speaking volunteers and donors to the Sai Trust, is Srikanth Uppuluri – who also worked for Radio Sai and later saw through the deceptions of entire set-up. He contrasts the love of Sai Baba by countless genuine people with the sheer cynicism (hidden by the cloak of charm and apparent concern) of Sai Baba himself. People were, for him, instruments of ‘His Will’, and there were no lengths to which he would not go to induce people to work for him, his name, fame and fortune, in one way or another. Uppuluri’s blog today shows this with grim clarity (click on image to see blog)Uppuluri. Supporting his view that Sai Baba used criminals to forward his ‘Mission’ is the following information I obtained before I was entirely cut off from the Sai movement.

I learned from IAS officer V. Ramnath and V.K. Narasimhan that the man who was chosen as the overall leader of the Water project and its finances, Mr. K. Chackravati (or Charkravathy) had been forced to resign from his post as an Indian Administrative Service official (a government post) in 1981 (i.e. ‘sacked’) and leave the post he had held for 20 years because he was caught out in major embezzlement! He became the registrar of the Institute of Higher Learning and then secretary of the Sathya Sai Central Trust, the fulcrum of Puttaparthi and also took over as head of the Prashanthi Nilayam ashram. He is no doubt rolling in millions. Meanwhile the Rayalaseema Water Project suffered from numerous failings involving embezzlement, unfulfilled but paid contracts and, not least, failure to provide water to most of the villages listed. Now the Sai Trust is trying to re-work that water plan since it has been an abject failure (the ground water level sank drastically even before it was completed. The great all-potent Director of the World must have caused it (note: not Mr. Chackravati).

Sathya Sai Baba occasionally visited infamous villains in their home? One small example: In 1995, Narasimhan told me how SB had some time earlier taken him in the car to visit Mr. Reddy from Madras, an alcohol and crime king. SB received a donation of one crore Rupis from him to the Rayalaseema water project, and announced his name, including those of other criminals in the Hillview Stadium on his 70th birthday (especially Bangarappa, whose name and contribution were also included). Mr. Reddy was shot down in the street and died six weeks later. A high-ranking source in Customs and Excise, Mrs. Dolly Saxena of Delhi, told her circle of friends how she had been harassed by shadowy police sent by top government officials. Her innocent son had been made the victim of terrible abuse of the ashram after the horrendous murders because he had been under the supervision of Vijay Prabhu, the supposed mastermind (though never charged by the authorities). The poor boy was suddenly taken by the police in Puttaparthi, was incarcerated, and had to be treated for the trauma later. Mrs. Saxena examined the Sathya Sai Central Trust’s affairs and discovered several transactions with black money, including from no less a criminal than Dawood Ibrahim, formerly one of India’s biggest mafia bosses, arms and drugs traffickers, who lived in exile in Dubai.

Sathya Sai Trust latest news (12/2012)

Posted by robertpriddy on December 14, 2012

SaiTrust_statement A Telugu news channel Sakshi TV had a special feature. It appeared that it was from recent birthday on Nov 23rd, 2012 . Reporters were asking questions and being answered by Trust members. Trust members were answering how sb declared that everything belonged to the people, governed by the Trust, so there was no incompatibility between the document and the function of the Trust.

But does everything the Sai Trust has belong to the people? Considering the revelations of embezzlement and fraud by the Sathya Sai Central Trust, and its extreme secrecy and cover-up activities, it seems highly unlikely that this is so.

At the Press Conference video, a Trust member comments that they have no present plans for the Yajur Mandir, including making excuses of why it has not been open to the public (which was, incidentally, promised after sb’s death, to be opened on Guru Purnima, then changed to birthday, of last year). Excuses include the logistics of the decision of what would be locked up and what would be on display, how to ferry the devotees in and out of cramped quarters, etc. The Trust member first states, “We have no plans.” and then ends with a noncommittal, “We’re thinking about it.”

The Sathya Sai Central Trust was involved in the cover-up of infamous bedroom murders in 1993 and of the sacking of several of its members by Sathya Sai Baba (Colonel Joga Rao, former ashram head Narayanen and others).

The Secret Swami’s Hidden Truths Still Emerging

Posted by robertpriddy on December 7, 2012

The tide has turned and Sathya Sai Baba’s undoubted sexual misdemeanours and many worse things have come to light more and more, so that all sensible persons consider that many others suspicions may well be justified. All in all, though, there has been a dearth of people still somehow involved in Sai Baba who dare to tell what they saw, heard and knew about what really went on behind closed doors or out of sight to the majority. Especially where anything to do with the sex abuses, murders, corruption, finances, setbacks to projects, failed predictions, broken promises, plus any number of other untoward matters. The law of complete unaccountability was and remains absolute throughout all of Sai Baba’s various declining institutions!

Fortunately, though, one key person who was formerly a 100% believer has come forth to tell of many matters which no follower was allowed to mention, even if they knew of them.  Eileen Weed (aka ‘Divya’) was a very correct and conscientious devotee who learned Telugu and lived for years at Prashanti  Nilayam between 1984 and 2002 and knew the female side of Sai Baba’s family, living with Venkamma for years and caring for her constantly until her death. She has published many of her letters from 1984 onwards to her parents (who were disaffected 5 years before she became so herself). These illustrate the many trials of faith that any follower on the spot had to undergo… a faith which she has completely overcome as a result of her  accumulated observations as to how the ‘map and the terrain’ diverged more and more and not least her work in translating a large number of Sai Baba’s confused discourses from 1999 to 2003.  Her contribution to the exposé are now many and invaluable in further unravelling the mass of deceits and crimes committed by Sai Baba and his people (see list of links to her information below). Here are some snippets not found elsewhere which indicate the wall-to-wall deceits of Sai Baba defenders:-

Here we see how Divya and all around her during the infamous 1993 executions of four devotees accepted it without question as the necessary work of the Avatar (Sai Baba).

Getting to the truth of Sai Baba

Posted by robertpriddy on December 5, 2012

Sathya Sai Baba used the old, old religious con trick, namely, that facts have no significance beside the higher, divine truth, and so can safely be ignored (mostly when inconvenient or damning). The supporting doctrine that there is something amounting to The Truth, ineffable and so beyond human knowledge – is itself a parody of all reasonable philosophical and radical ideas of truth. It was the key to enforcing the cover up of all facts negative to him and his activities in his ashrams – which were all inevitably deeply involved in worldly dealings. The Sai Organization’s ban on all non-positive thoughts and ideas was used to distort actual matters and presents half-truths. The insight that ‘a half-truth is often worse than a lie’ holds true! Exclusively idealizing Sai Baba and itself the Sai Organization made false propaganda, because of the incomplete information and heavily slanted presentations. Sai Baba officials and copied  (and still copy) Sai Baba’s avoidance behaviour, and this soon became largely self-induced and self-sustained by officials and most devotees too. Fed by a flow of indoctrination and misinformation, this developed a kind of brainwashing of a physically non-violent but thereby yet more effective kind.

Time and again, it appears that, where Sai Baba was involved, the ‘bottom line’ in any major incident could not be accessed except by determined investigation, careful digging and correlating information critically from as many sources as were available. The very effective cult of tight wraps on information around Sai Baba, about what he did when not visible at darshan, about his many failed minor and major plans, misled all devotees into believing that things were just fine! Today there are many old-timers who even believe that his prophesies will be fulfilled, ignoring the fact that most of his unfulfilled prophesies referred to his own lifetime, not least that a reborn Vivekananda would run his ashram after his death. The individual SB named, Nalin Sedera, rejected the claim and, of course, has nothing whatever to do with the current Prashanthi Nilayam. The hope-entrapped devotees put their faith in that mockery of intelligence that he will be reborn as Prema Sai, which propaganda served as a way of ensuring that no one living could claim to be his successor. Despite that, there are already claimants, and the future will almost certainly see any number of Prema Sai impostors… there are fortunes to be made.

The converse of all this is growing disaffection among those who feel most suppressed by it, while the ‘outside world’ that happens to observe it independently of the required rigid assumptions, finding its questions unanswered.

Sathya Sai Baba and Jesus

Posted by robertpriddy on December 1, 2012

It is always worth reminding the public how incredibly misinformed Sathya Sai Baba was about other religions. His ‘teaching’, supposedly so pure and compassionate, actually blackened those who criticise, spread negative news or raise doubts as committing ‘the worst of sins’, even when there are valid grounds and openness is justified. Thus, on Christmas Day (of all days celebrating a forgiving and compassionate person), Sai Baba doomed his critics to unredemption, even throughout any number of future births ( see his infamous Christmas Discourse, 2000). He even called dissenters ‘Judases’ implying that he was Jesus-like. (He was surely also quite unaware of the modern Biblical research about Judas, Jesus’ closest disciple, who it emerges did not ‘betray’ him at all but followed Jesus’ plan and the rules of the Romans in so doing.) Though I am far from being a believer in any religion, it is only fair to contrast the religious doctrines Sai Baba relied on to recorded and researched facts about Christianity.

Here I repost what former followers Brian Steel discovered had been erased from the published material by all Sai Baba editors. Tony O’Clery also commented on this discovery, saying that the much-revered ‘voice of the avatar’, Sai Baba, was nothing but that of a confused and ignorant person, basing this on the published discourse Sai Baba gave on Christmas Day in 1996. Though his ideas of Christianity are found among many backward Indian peasants (which is his background culture) it is still perplexing to any slightly educated person the Sai Baba’s ‘omniscient’  hodge-podge could be so wrong and surpass many an infantile school essay for laughability:-

“Sai Baba again is proved a fake out of his own mouth. From Brian Steel’s site. The 1996 Christmas Day Discourse (also videotaped and sold by James Redmond) Here are some of the statements (as they were interpreted on the spot) which this amazing videotape registered:

1. “Three hundred and fifty years B.C., before Christ, Jews lived. However, among Jews, there were religions such as Islam and Christianity. People of that land, they are all Jews. That land is the birthplace of both the religions, Islam and Christianity. The Hebrew language was very prominent. This Hebrew language is more or less equal to our Sanskrit.”

2. “Christianity is not just 2,000 years in its origin. It was there even before Christ, 350 years. There the divinity is explained very clearly.”

3. “The name and the fame of Jesus Christ have spread far and wide. Here, at this moment, there are two schools of thought. The first group of thought – Roman Catholics. There is another group that fought with this group. This group is called Protestants. As they protested, they are Protestants. So among Jews there are these two groups: Catholics and Protestants.”

4. “The difference of opinion has increased day by day. This led to Jesus, whose life was in danger. Jews there in Jerusalem did not permit Jesus to go there. Like this, religious conflict and fighting was ever on the rise. There were 250 schools of thought, divisions there. They also monopolized certain countries. Because of so many groups there, they all attempted even to harm Jesus. Romans on one side. Catholics on the other side. Luther on another side. There were so many groups that went on changing. All these differences are based on violence, and that led to madness.”

5. “Because of this attachment to group affiliations, naturally there was conflict and fighting. Religious affiliation leads to ego. This led to confusion among them as to what Jesus said right or wrong.”

O’Clery reflected: “Doubtless, the Sathya Sai Organization editors saw that Sathya Sai Baba had had a bad day. They thoughtfully cast into oblivion SSBs extraordinary statements on Christian and Jewish history, but readers of their official printed version will never know that he made these statements because all they will see in Sathya Sai Speaks, Vol. XXIX is a brief editorial note on page 393: [Bhagavan gave a brief account of the Jewish concept of the creation of the cosmos and referred to the birth of Jesus as the son of Mary and Joseph.]”

There’s plenty more where that came from!
