Sathya Sai Baba Deceptions Exposed

Exposing major deceits by guru Sathya Sai Baba in India, incl. murders cover-up & widely alleged sexual abuse

Waris Faridi of San Antonio Sai Center on the attack

Posted by robertpriddy on June 14, 2014

Among the many deluded persons who believe that Sathya Sai Baba will resurrect himself is one Waris Faridi. One would expect that a self-proclaimed Sai devotee would show at least a minimum of civility towards those who do not accept his delusions. Not so, for he sent the following comment to me on my wordpress blog site as follows:-

Sai baba already has emerged and made his 1st public appearence in Kadaikanal for several days with 150 people present .

You all fallen devotees are about to fall flat on your face so bad that you will knock all your teeth out.

Since I do not adhere to Sai Baba’s many pronouncements on how one should also “speak softly and sweetly”, or that criticism of other is a great sin, or that one should respect all faiths, it was no problem for me to reply to him as follows:-

As is the general rule with such rancourous devotees of SB, Mr. Waris did not reply, for what could he say that would not show him up yet further?  He is presented as ‘a scholar’ but has no Ph.D., has not published any articles or books one can discover, and he misspells two words within one sentence and writes another ungrammatical one. We may well assume that his scholarship was not at university level and his studies were limited to religious reading and suchlike because he gives talks on a wide variety of spiritual subjects including Meditation, Advaita, Esoteric Buddhism, Vedic philosophies, Theosophy and Sufism.  He is listed as ‘Vice President of Sathya Sai Baba Center in San Antonio, Texas’. He not yet 60 – much is younger than I, but – with his Sai Baba ‘spiritual’ pretentions, he is old enough to know better than to blot his own escutcheon by his ill-founded and shameful taunt towards me and Sai Baba dissidents. Nor is it ex-devotees who have fallen, but the self-proclaimed Deity of Deities, Sai Baba whose ‘divine downfall’ disillusioned them and which is now known to the world at large.
Waris J. Faridi has been religiously indoctrinated and a strict Muslim from birth, but also got involved with other religious movements including theosophy (another deeply flawed and failed ‘spiritual’ fantasy teaching which their proclaimed ‘Maitreya’, Jiddu Krishnamurthi, had already exposed for  what it was, based on Madame Blavatsky’s sick imaginings and fictions ). It is clear he had never had the benefit of a scientific or humanistic background. Further, like so many others, his knowledge of Sai Baba was evidently absorbed mainly from others than the man himself as he states on-line:- “I never got an interview, but I did have some very strong and powerful dreams. Especially there was a period of time between ’88 and ’90 that I had the most dreams of Him and they were all very powerful dreams.”

Had he been at a few interviews, he may have had a better idea of the man and his many failings… but the fascinated and already convinced devotee has low chances of seeing the light and realising the depth of deception and crime. He had many powerful dreams, he says, but so did I (over 300, all recorded immediately – some key dreams reported in my book ‘Source of the Dream’). These dreams, however, are self-generated through concentration on the guru and all involvements with his sphere, the details of which eventually become apparent when one has had sufficient insight into and involvement with a wide rang of psychological disciplines and has begun to take a critical standpoint. The human brain has the most phenomenal capacity to create entire mental wonders subconsciously… as even a too large dose of morphine medicine can demonstrate. Unfortunate people come to confuse mental imaginings with reality.

I actually got bored with the interviews and many personal contacts I had with SB through 18 years, and my perceptions of Sai Baba suffered greatly when I afterwards understood his techniques and saw though his many subtle deceptions, having been jolted out of my faith and trust by the deep confidences of one of his very closest servitors, his troubled journal editor, V.K. Narasimhan. Alas for all believers in Sai Baba, there is no one among their number who can deal with the facts about Sai Baba, not a single person who demonstrates evenness of mind, ability to think critically (about anything religious or practically any figure claiming sainthood, holiness, divinity) and the capacity to discuss with opponents in any reasonable manner whatsoever. This has not happened ONCE since the exposé began its work in 1999 in response to many calls on the Internet by sexually abused Sai Baba followers to publish their testimonies of his venal sins. Their minds, having once formed a belief in Sai Baba or his miracles or clever but wily and easily spoken words about love and brotherhood, their minds adopted the tenets of self-indoctrination and blind faith (relying entirely faith, wishful thinking, hopes and fantasies by using the so-called ‘heart’ – or playground of the desires, including enmity, violent desires, hate etc. – while denying the rational intelligence of the ‘head’). The continuous reinforcement of the thought-dulling rituals of prayers, bhajan singing, writing countless ‘hold names’, meditation, gossiping about God with other equally or yet more gullible ‘brothers and sisters’ (while banning all who demur from their circles) causes a brain gridlock… the belief-laden cognitive circuits get so reinforced that no new insights of a reasonable nature can interrupt them. Sai Baba’s teaching about how to live and behave – though often in severe conflict with itself and also with many of his actions – is impossible to live up to. It demands 24-hour worship of God, total self-sacrifice in doing work for him or his organisation, and subsisting on an utter minimum oneself (which he most demonstrably did not adhere to himself!). One should not have other friends but God (i.e. for his followers that meant Sai Baba), one should be entirely chaste (unless married and even them most abstemious), while his serial homosexual abuses of young men and minors are impossible to deny seriously as they have been attested by many dozens of his former devotees. The result for those entrapped in that cultist sphere is that they live in a continual haze of uncertainty and confusion about their chosen Godhead and their own status as good or bad devotees, unless they are sheer dilettantes and just do as they like regardless (which I can attest for 18 years as a leader in the Organisation that many are!).

Waris Faridi is a supporter of the deluded Shreejith Narayan who predicts the return of Sathya Sai Baba in human form in his fanciful and fact-denying book “Sai, Thy Kingdom Come” As well as the even more fanciful and way-out Isaac Tigrett who has unwittingly played the fool as a self-appointed right-hand executive of Sathya Sai Baba’s ghost.

Any one of us who have had interviews or other extended contact with sb, can attest to the fact (as you did) that he can get repetitive and boring, is out of touch, a narcissist, and completely incorrect with facts (as I realized during my years of translating his discourses direct from Telugu to English). It is the blind faith of the devotees, filled to the brim with projection, that gave sb fame (and more victims of sexual abuse).

Months ago, we heard from frenzied devotees that the ‘return’ would likely be June 28, 2014. We can all agree to join in anticipation of the ‘event’ (though for different reasons). Yes, let us wait & watch eagerly! Watch this blog for the updates, whatever they may be!

So true, all you said above, Robert. The poor believers will have to be disappointed yet again, but still retain faith and have hope for the future – just like the rapidly declining Christian believers still await the return of their master over 2,000 years later.
