Sathya Sai Central Trust self-revealing propaganda

On the left is the text of an article – presumably based on a press release by the Sathya Sai Central Trust. The remarkable thing about it is that it amounts to a public admission of the truth of what dissidents have claimed since around 2000, that the Trust had lost credibility and was under a crisis. It is an attempt to reinstate the trust that donors so unfortunately misplaced it the Central Trust, but which was very largely destroyed after the death of Sathya Sai Baba.
Indeed, the very figure whose name it bears lost trust on a massive scale in recent years, and not least also his corrupt cronies like the nationally discredited former Board member, P.N. Bhagwati and the embezzling Colonel Joga Rao among several other board members. The flow of donations from devotees deteriorated gradually and greatly and the Trust is now desperately trying to recreate a positive facade so as to get back into the free money. Through the vicious battle for supremacy of the billions, not least between the subsequent winner of that dirty war, the nephew R.J. Ratnakar, and the other relatives of Sai Baba who were then dispossessed entirely, having also been threatened with murder! So how should one suddenly trust people who did such things? It would be a huge mistake to believe their propaganda knowing of many illegal money transfers and secret transactions underhandedly made (court cases against the he current institution just disappeared and bribery is known to have been an instrument Sai Baba and co. widely employed). The article mentions that the trust is now “embracing transparency”, admitting unwittingly that it never did before, as we have always emphasised as a known and despicable fact in any alleged charity. Despite now publishing general figures annually – the Trust is still largely non-transparent – for example, no donor can access the accounts and no minutes of board meetings are at all accessible. Marketing the profiles of the Trust members as people holding prestigious positions earlier will hardly change the situation, such a large honey pot attracts wasps of all kinds. The trust is appointing professionals now, meaning it never had them earlier? Though cash donations are refused now – it affirms that they operated in cash earlier. Considering the Trust’s known methods, it is likely that they paid dailybhaskar for this article. |
