Hindu Tantric guru Shankarananda comes dirty!

Posted by robertpriddy on December 29, 2014

UPDATE ON SWAMI SHANKARANANDA OF THE SHIV YOGA COMMUNITY: The ashram is facing closure and a major legal process, probably including a class action (according to the Mornington News of 31/3/2015. This comes after months of increasing exposures of the guru (real name Russell Kruckman).

Originally this blog stated: Yet another exposure of a sex maniac Hindu guru, Shankarananda of the Mount Eliza Yoga ashram, Australia. Despite his claims of celibacy it appears he couldn’t keep it in his pants. And stories about at least 40 devotee women having sex with him are now coming out, to which he has been forced to admit! Sounds like quite a harem scene this dude had set up. It is but the latest in an unending line of sexual abusing gurus like Swami Nityananda, Asaram Bapu and son, and pedophile Sathya Sai Baba. The self-declared fornicator will however continue as the “Spiritual Director of the Shiva Ashram” and will still be handing out ‘wisdom’ and ‘teachings’ (for what they are now worth. or ever were) and “Swamiji has asked us on his behalf to reiterate his message for the year of holding the feeling – that is, stay away from enmity, and keep returning to love.”  This ego-centric sex maniac wants to be forgiven in spades and to be considered fit to counsel his victims and teach his perverted religious values to the vulnerable believers and seekers of an otherworldly wisdom and imagined state of eternal bliss that one can be 99.9% certain does not exist!

Further, in a statement by Stephen and Vani of the ashram state that ‘the Committee has legal advice that based on the information known there is no basis for any criminal complaint.” Let us hope that some victims get better legal advice and find that he can be prosecuted, no doubt he has acted under false pretences and collected donations on that basis, among other things. Such a proven deceiver and liar cannot be trusted in any respects. He deserves punishment, not more love! Meanwhile Shankarananda writes in a letter to the community: ”

I had a carrot in my ear. Truly. When contemplating Baba’s life, I was most engaged by the dramas of the succession. I profoundly underestimated the impact of his tantric sexual activities. And my own. I recognise at last their disastrous effect.Shankarananda

So he learned it all from his own guru, the ‘Baba’ he refers to! This shows the inherent filthiness of most Indian guru traditions, a fact that is becoming more and more widely recognised, especially in the world at large but also in India too. “I vow to stop this behaviour. Indeed, it has been stopped already. I want to make amends to those who have been hurt. I want this all to be done in an atmosphere of love and generosity of spirit, not vilification on either side.” Indeed, he wants it all to be wine and roses without any disruption of being worshipped as a wise godman! The cheek of it. But as he surely knows, there are always plenty of gullible people who fall for the trickery and ‘mystery’ (read deceitful secrecy) of such Indian gurus (perfected by their forerunners and handed on down through millennia).

In the Complete Works Of Swami Vivekananda, volume 3, on page 452, you can read that we have to choose our Guru with utmost care: “The Guru must be without a touch of taint, and he must be Akâmahata – unhurt by any desire – he should have no other motive except that of purely doing good to others…” Where is any such person practicing as a guru in India? I cannot find one, past or present, among scores I have studied in depth!

Tsunami Calamity anniversary and Sai Baba

Posted by robertpriddy on December 26, 2014

TODAY marks a decade since the massive earthquake struck 100 miles off the coast of the Indonesian island of Sumatra, triggering the biggest tsunami ever recorded. A final death estimate of this vast tragedy around the world – mainly in 13 countries on two continents – was 230,273, with 45,752 missing presumed dead.

Sathya Sai Baba blamed the 2004 tsunami disaster and all such disasters on “moral lapses”, while he held God (which he constantly claimed himself to be) was exempt from ALL responsibility!

These are some of Sai Baba’s totally unscientific moralizing statements about natural disasters and how they are caused by human actions! This is part of the huge millenia-old religious delusion that attributes all good things that happen to a loving Godhead Creator, and all bad things as having other causes, especially human! The Asian tsunami disaster of 2004 was most certainly caused by major undersea volcanic action resulting from the tensions built up by the collision of tectonic plates, an exclusively physical event.  These collisions have been happening as long as the landmasses and oceans of earth have existed and long before humanity evolved on earth. So how could human being be in any way responsible for them? Amazing that otherwise reasonably educated people still worship Sai Baba after knowing he spouts such sheer superstitious nonsense! His self-claimed Omniscience, Omnipotence, Omnipresence and Omnibenevolence and being the Incarnation of God on Earth, Saviour of Mankind and Avatar of the Era). The same goes for all other preachers of  a Creator God’s compassion for mankind.

The claims of Sai Baba to enhance himself were endless and beyond all limits. See this small example, just to show that I am not exaggerating:-

Prayer overpowers nuclear ‘melt-down’?
There is an interesting story in an interview on Radio Sai with Dr Deepak Anand (Fleeting Moments Lasting Memories, May 2012) where he reports an amazing incident of Swami hearing and responding to the intense prayers of many people. FM_LM_120_DR_DEEPAK_ANAND_PART_02.mp3 (about 33 minutes from start)

Basically….Swami was sitting in total silence for a long time (I think, in the interview room but don’t know the year) and then asked the students present about the significance of that day, what happened on that day? He then revealed it was an anniversary of the day the atomic bomb was dropped on Hiroshima. He went on to say that, at that very moment in Osaka in Japan, thousands of people had gathered with candles lit, and “they are all praying to Me that such a catastrophe, should never befall any other nation… I listened to their prayers and I came!”

Hearing this, I felt more strongly that Swami’s illness in 2011 was indeed connected with the earthquake in Japan. Long before the 2011 disaster, He had responded to the fervent prayers of people calling out on the anniversary of Hiroshima and, I believe, He had then made a promise to them, which was fulfilled in 2011.

Prashanthi Nilayam Christmas 2014

Posted by robertpriddy on December 23, 2014

Pilgrimage to Prashanthi Nilayam Christmas 2014. Sai Ram,
In December you received the wonderful news from Dr. Thayaparan that Bhagawan has blessed a Canadian Pilgrimage to Puttaparthi in December of 2014.”

Pilgrimage to see the decorations and lights? This Dr. Arumugam Thayaparan is the Chairman of Canada Sai Council. He announces that Bhagavan has decided that Canadians are to visit the ashram this Christmas. Whether he believes that Bhagavan has resurrected, or is still with us ‘behind the scenes’, he is careful not to say how Sai Baba communicated with him – perhaps through Ratnakara and Co.,  who badly need income and will never turn down funding from anywhere (and Canada is well to do and still has a fair number of devotees).”

Thayaparan’s plan for Xmas 2014 is almost entirely decorative, as the pdf put out from Canada’s chapter of the Sai cult shows. The designed decorations forl the venues are shown in great detail. What poverty for a spiritual message! Seeing that devotees believe that no one can say anything new that Sai Baba has not already said, and that they are neither allowed to – nor are capable of – thinking outside the SaiBaba box, there is nothing original they dare say that does not parrot Sai Baba in one way or another. So the main message is made to be four colours:-

“We present the Canadian flavor in our Canadian Christmas theme colors of Red, White, Gold and Silver. Each color brings in its own importance and blends in with our Dear Lord’s message of life.

RED – the color signifies LOVE.  “Where there is Love, there GOD is certainly evident. Love more and more people, Love them more and more intensely: transform the Love into service, transform the service into worship: that is the highest sadhana.”

Dr. Arumugam Thayaparan, Canadian Chairman of Sail Cult in Canada

Dr. Arumugam Thayaparan, Canadian Chairman of Sail Cult in Canada

WHITE – the color signifies PURITY.  “Love is enough to realize the Supreme. Love which moves, flows from one heart to another, from one place to another, from one person to another and ultimately reaches the destination which is called the GRACE of GOD. Such love is Pure. “

GOLD – the color signifies STRENGTH & RADIANCE.  “It is only when man cultivates humanness that society will shine with radiance and the nation and the world will progress. Humanness can be promoted only through spirituality and not by any other means. Just as a seed can sprout only when it is planted in the soil and watered, human values can grow only in spiritual soil.”

SILVER -the color signifies SERENITY. I must tell you of the paramount importance of LOVE. LOVE is God: Live in LOVE. You can see the moon only with the help of Moon Light; you can see God only through the rays of LOVE.”

-Sathya Sai Baba”
(source – heading of  – The main photo of that site shows Jesus (with a twin goatee beard) beside Sathya Sai Baba. Makes those who know what Sai Baba really was and did think that the two were really totally incompatible and worlds apart. Note also that Sai Baba did not identify those colours as symbols of the four qualities that is claimed above. He did however say that you can see the moon only with the help of Moon Light, which is a classic blooper so typical of his ignorant glibness (for Sai devotees who know no better, it is the sun that makes the moon visible).  Of course, the four named colours are taken throughout the world to  symbolise a very wide variety of differing and often opposing ideas, feelings, values, conditions etc.

See what Sai Baba said on Christmas Days Past:-
Sathya Sai Baba: Christmas 2000 Discourse The infamous Christmas discourse of 2000 where he scourged his critics unforgivingly and lied blatantly about them.
Christmas Sandesh (Discourse) 1998 “Truly speaking, Christmas falls in the month of March…” and “”When it was decided that all the devotees of Jesus should be crucified along with Him, even His closest devotees, Peter, Matthew, and St. Paul refused to identify themselves as His followers.” (Paul was never there at all!)
Christmas Day 1996 Discourse This one contained some of the greatest historical blunders and confusion that he ever made about Christianity and Islam. Eg. “Three hundred and fifty years B.C., before Christ, Jews lived. However, among Jews, there were religions such as Islam and Christianity.”
Christmas discourse 1996: Faked materialisation of ‘tiny bible’ during discourse revealed and exposed
Sai Baba- Christmas not remotely as it was.
Sai Baba Christmas 2010 unforgiving hypocrisy, Santa Claus & blunders.

Sri Sathya Sai education neither free nor remotely liberal

Posted by robertpriddy on December 21, 2014

The official Sri Sathya Sai higher secondary school website publicly proves what we already knew privately from some former students that – already in 2005 – it was far from being the free education that Sai Baba continually boasted it was. Under the heading ‘Info for new entrants’ it is specified that Rs 25,000 was to be paid at the time of admission, since all students had to reside in the hostel. It also confirms to the hilt many very eye-wateringly disturbing facts about the Sri Sathya Sai educational system at Puttaparthi, as have been exposed by a number of former students of his educational institutions.

Not only did students have to provide everything from their own means but, once enrolled, became virtual work slaves to run the entire infrastructure of the hostels under the name of ‘Sai Baba selfless service’! The regime for students was draconian, systematically destroying their independence of thought, act and belief and allowing them no normal liberties (unless they were ‘form boys’, that is, did service as Sai Baba’s private ‘chics’, who were allowed liberties far exceeding those who were not his chosen sexual partners and were rewarded with top marks, degrees and golden medals).

Eileen Weed writes: Another eye-opener is the number of students who have 100% marks in their exams. Is this all skill or are they fed answer papers thanks to sb’s name and influence? You decide!

Selection lists are interesting, in that they clearly list the reservations according to caste (SC=Scheduled Class, ST = Scheduled Tribe, EBC = Backward Class) (caste is illegal according to Indian govt. but apparently still practiced today officially all over the place!) and reserved seats for the children of old students and staff. (Of course, even the ‘General Category’ no doubt includes many recommendations of VIPs.)

Shockingly, essentials that students are expected to bring include: their own bucket and mug (probably for shower!), plate and cup, cushion to sit on, mattress, pillows, blankets and bedsheets. The schools can’t even provide basic items like that! I heard from former students that they have to sleep on the cold cement floor crammed in like sardines with no space in-between.

The discipline is also severe, including students not allowed to read any book or magazine not connected with their academics (unless with teacher approval)! No cameras or electronic gadgets allowed! They are also responsible paying for all repairs if they break something.

Among the many restrictive rules we find: “Personal possession of Iron box, tape recorder or transistor, video games etc. is not allowed in the hostel. All students are required to maintain high standard of personal cleanliness and room cleanliness as well as the cleanliness of the surroundings.” Further, in accordance with the strict prohibitions at all Sai Baba ashrams of any ways of recording proof of untoward events, abuses, and other crimes, the information for new entrants states that boys are not permitted to have any electronic devices or cameras.

In short, the entire educational system, from primary school to ‘deemed’ university was controlled with the strictness of a concentration camp, and reports whose claimants we have checked out, told how students were sometimes beaten mercilessly for offending ‘the avatar’ by mentioning his sexuality. Never forget that in 1993 four rebellious ex-students were actually openly executed by police in accordance with Sai Baba’s order. The control extended to freedom of thought too, as no questioning of the indoctrination, or of Sai Baba’s countless false and ignorant statements, was tolerated.

The prospectus boasts: “The school offers students a unique educational experience which, in many ways, is different from schools elsewhere.” So far one can agree in a literal sense, for the school is a uniquely awful example of what a school should not be; a virtual physical and mental prison, fanatically controlling, manipulative, indoctrinating, often abusive and as out-of-touch with all modern educational standards as were most schools in Dickens’ time. Parents of students are invariably Sai Baba devotees who would not listen or believe their sons when they told of sexual and other abuses. A well-balanced review was written by former SSB university graduate Kartick Vaddadi.

A former Sai Baba student mailed me, asking for anonymity, and wrote:-
…the 1983-4 batch defections at the Brindavan campus….this was always a hush-hush affair and many senior teacher know about it though they were uncomfortable talking about it. What angers me most is the mental stubborness of those professionals at parthi who know these things and still continue to work for the sake of money or whatever. How can they call themselves educated ….this reflects the very flawed status of the Indian upbringing…men are not what they can be but brainwashed to believe whatever they are told. It’s a very unfortunate thing.

Indian guru devotees with mass delusions

Posted by robertpriddy on December 16, 2014

another_deluded_mass ‘Godman’ Ashutosh Maharaj of Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan, Jalandhar.
Thousands of devotees pay homage to clinically dead guru Ashutosh Maharaj as court battle over his remains rages on

Jalandhar: Crowds Gather to Fight for Guru’s Body Kept in a Deep Freezer  Declared clinically dead on January 29th 2014, a high court recently demanded that his body be cremated within 15 days.

‘Maharajji will emerge from samadhi. Thousands of devotees pay homage to clinically dead guru Ashutosh Maharaj as court battle over his remains rages on.  While the Divya Jyoti Jagriti Sansthan (DJJS) claimed the number of followers to be around 60,000-75,000, the Jalandhar district administration put the numbers at a comparatively modest 25,000.’ (Read more(Note: Though most guru cults exaggerate the number of followers they have, some on a massive scale such as Sai Baba & his cult did in claiming hundreds of millions of followers, no proper survey was ever able to discover more than a few millions world-wide, the number of religiously indoctrinated Indians who rigidly cling to such false beliefs is still quite massive).

However, since petitions to the High Court claim that Ashutosh is only in deep meditation etc., the court has since extended the process until a decision on February 9 2015. It is intriguing to consider how the followers imagine things will go… will the guru have to be unfrozen when his meditation ends, or should he remain in a deep freezer for ever? Or maybe he will have to be buried at some time in the future, or even cremated? Unlike Elvis and many other Western idols, he does no have the benefit of being cryogenically frozen down, so melting him would be too messy for a future regenerative wonder surgery.  Interesting to compare which of these idol mythologies East and West and the craziest and most hysterical. Surely, it is the fear of death – of oneself being extinguished forever – that must be the biggest factor behind beliefs in spiritual reincarnation or medical reincarnation.

Likewise, many of the dwindling following of Sathya Sai Baba religiously have believed since his death that he would resurrect himself any time soon, or – failing that – he will reincarnate himself as Prema Sai in South India at one of two different places he prophesied at different times!  Wishful and vain hoping was encouraged greatly by the constant outpourings of such speculative and scientifically totally unfounded ‘ancient wisdom’ by Sathya Sai Baba. Most of the symptoms of cultist religious sectarianism were promoted by Sai Baba on a major scale with considerable success, but especially since Sai Baba’s totally unexpected demise a decade before all his varying predictions of his death, the numbers of adherents have declined drastically, not least due to manner of his death, suspicions of foul play and the aftermath in which his hidden hoards of treasure were discovered under his huge bed and packed in all places. Sathya Sai Drinking Water project re-inaugurated yet again

Posted by robertpriddy on December 14, 2014

More propaganda on Sai Baba water projects, though the existing ones don’t seem to be doing much! This is the third time in two decades that the Rayalaseema Village Water Project has had to be re-generated. Meanwhile, Puttaparthi is still virtually without its own clean and drinkable water supply.

The water project failed almost immediately after it first became semi-operative, due to kickbacks, entrepreneur and leadership corruption, sub-standard materials due to theft and flawed workmanship. Above all, an unforeseen and drastic drop in the water table causing bore wells to cost most of their capacity if not all. The self-declared omniscient and omnipotent Sai Baba did not have a clue about such problems, as his top engineer Colonel Joga Rao told friends of mine who were working with him to improve sewerage conditions at Prashanthi Nilayam. No maintenance was provided for, so the AP government had to be asked to take over the entire project. Since then other announcements of a complete radical upgrade have been made, but Puttaparthi (which was intended as the No. 1 beneficiary of the project) has dire water shortages to this day.

Well-informed comment from former follower, Srikanth Uppuluri:

Not only in Puttaparthi, that entire region has problems of both Water as well as Severe Fluorine Content. See report:-

The Avatar said he could transmute earth into sky, but could not solve basic problems of humanity. To this his answers were various – karma, man’s sins, decline of dharma and all his other nonsense. One may wonder why the birth of a Divine being and the associated vibrations has still not helped. Certainly, had he been the Embodiment of Truth and Dharma, there should have been some effect?

Kailash Satyarthi: a world hero defender of the weak

A freed slave child in India

A freed slave child in India, saved last month from a factory in Delhi along with 24 other children

The Nobel Peace Prize for 2014 goes to India’s Kailash Satyarthi and Pakistan’s Malala Yousafzay “for their struggle against the suppression of children and young people and for the right of all children to education”.  “Showing great personal courage, Kailash Satyarthi, maintaining Gandhi’s tradition, has headed various forms of protests and demonstrations, all peaceful, focusing on the grave exploitation of children for financial gain.”

“When they get tips on working children in a dark basement somewhere in India so he takes with him a team and go in and frees the children from this slave labor.” He says that these children are often robbed their families and set to work. After several years of slave labor, there are many who have been severely affected both physically and mentally. Many people have trouble remembering where they come from.”

Excerpt from New York Times (Click image to see source)

Excerpt from New York Times (Click image to see source)

It is to be hoped that the many unscrupulous factory owners and employers who use slave labour provided by slave-drivers will begin to realise that this horrendous treatment of children will not be tolerated to such a degree that it has been until now by the Indian authorities. Knowing the mentality of these slavers, however, the strictest purges of all such employers must be carried out by the government. The positive reaction of the press throughout the world (not without unpleasant exceptions by Hindu.nationalists in India) makes known the depths of iniquity to which far too many Indian Indian human traffickers and their employers sink. Parents who sell their children to these criminal people in the belief and hope of providing them with a better existence are less to blame since they are duped and pressured by gangs.

Looking at this in the context of the long series Prime Ministers and Presidents of India who worshipped Sathya Sai Baba, including Narendra Modi today, it is pertinent to remind that none of them have done anything of real note to protect the countless Indian young children in slavery – as miners, carpet weaver, factory and above all in forced prostitution and all manner of dangerous work. Sai Baba never once so much as mentioned the problem… it as if he was completely out of touch with the sufferings of the millions of victims of the most heinous criminality. Surrounded by yea-sayers and worshippers in the luxury of his apartments and virtual palaces, he was a willing prisoner of his own fawning and sycophantic court, claiming to know absolutely everything about everybody into the bargain! Despite his repeated and enormous boasts about how he would solve India’s problems (then, when completed, those of the entire world) he left India in just about as parlous, corrupt and calamitous a state as ever with mounting unsolved life-threatening problems it faces today.

Minor Sai center trumpets minor concession to attract volunteers

Posted by robertpriddy on December 8, 2014

Every small allowance won by any Sai Baba related institutions is brandished now like a proof of his omnipotent interference in worldly affairs. One might well be taken in by this Sai Baba propaganda attempt to encourage the diminishing number of volunteer devotees to go to Prashanthi ashram to serve. The mailer is C.E.O. at the minor clinic Srinivasa Hospital and Diagnostic Center, Nalgonda

katta_jayapradesh_reddyFrom: katta jayaprakash Reddy

Subject: Railway concession to Sri Sathya Sai seva dal.

With the blessings of our beloved Lord Bhagwan Sri Sathya Baba, Railways have announced 50% concession on tickets for the seva dal participating in service in Prashanthi Nilam. It is for the volunteers whose income is not more than Rs.5000/- per month.
I humbly appeal to all the seva dal not to claim concession tickets if their income is more than five thousand per month. If any body claims against the rules through backdoors or any other illegal means by  bogus income certificates, it is  against the blessings of Swami. If any one violates this,  other seva dal must be vigilant and bring to the notice of Samithi president or other leaders.

This speaks volumes about the existing Seva Dal – corruption was always there, as it always is in India. Rs 5,000 is basically NOTHING nowadays, so the concession would only help the elderly and unemployed housewives. Even field laborers make more than that a month. Runaway inflation has changed and continues to change the entire level of prices in India. The small concession is to be seen on the background of the fact that everything costs 3 or 4 times the amount it did 10 years ago. Once one could buy tomatoes for Rs 2 a kilo when they were in season, now they are between Rs 50-60 a kilo year round. There were rooms in the Parthi village for Rs 1,500 a month but nowadays, even with the lack of demand, it is reportedly hard to find anything under Rs 6,000 rent a month for a one bedroom room.
Eileen Weed, who has relatives and friends in the area wrote:

“In 2005 when I left India, my salary as the Administrator of Karuna Society was Rs 5,500 a month, and I was making as much as the veterinary surgeon at the clinic (an uneducated villager who was trained by Clementien to do treatments on the animals). Both of us had the highest paid wages, most other workers were getting Rs 2,000 – Rs 3,000 a month.”

That is what people get with his blessings. A life full of crap.
My sister’s salary when she worked at the hospital was Rs 13000/-. This is the amount that security guards at hospitals draw today.
If not for my support to her and her son financially and physically, this was not even enough to make ends meet.
His staff had to pray to even get basic accomodation to have a roof on their heads!
The school claimed to be free, but there was at least 20-40K of expenditure each year, which is true in any other schools in India.
However one must NEVER consider these amounts given by beloved Swami as paltry. What about the love of Swami that comes with it? It is like the love of a thousand mothers. Is it not enough. Also the sexual abuses are a bonus. And there is Sai Baba’s philosophy to apply – such as his message to the poor – don’t feel sad that you do not have a Caru (Car), feel happy that you have a Kaalu (leg)
Who else but the great proponent of Atma Vidya can teach such stuff. BTW, let us not be mistaken.
These rules and philosophy do not apply to him. He is the King of Kings beyond laws. All rules are for the followers.
That is the reason he took great care of himself from time to time, getting served, using imported cars, driven by a (although frustrated) chauffeur, meals served, clothes supplied….the poor thought he really built the institutions for them – little did they know his ambitions of making it big in the international arena….Sai Baba of India… his glory is sung everywhere….his birthdays celebrated even after his death !! And whereas his philosophy for those people whose family members he killed in accidents, was that the “dying weep for the dead” – a quotation from the Narada Bhakti Sutras…Happy Birthday Dude…may you live forever…!! But may others leave you forever …

Sai Baba gave the OK to kill intruders

Posted by robertpriddy on December 7, 2014

Testimony of a reliable American eye-witness with long-term insider connections

An eyewitness, Eileen Weed (aka ‘Divya’) who was living in the apartment Sai Baba’s sister Venkamma, both with an overview of the events of that night, the truth-challenged mentality of residents which allowed the murders to be covered up:-

On 2. sep. 2012, at 15.10, Divya wrote:

“We all heard the next morning that SB gave the OK to kill the intruders after being strongly advised to do so, and that Janikiram was with SB then also and agreed (and someone else too, was it Joga Rao? I forgot who). We did not have much shock about it – after all, we were brainwashed with stories of Rama and Krisha, it was natural for us to accept Avatars wanted to murder the bad guys; plus, we thought, much better to avoid controversy and possible unpleasant truths (or what we thought might be lies) getting out.

I had heard the name Vishnubat a lot, because he was the kitchen help and Amma was cooking for SB. I believe it was Vishnubat who was often the one handing the carriers back to the family members after SB ate and went upstairs after his meal. Also, two people were injured in the encounter and survived, SB even went to visit them in the hospital next morning – I will have to read the account online to see what it says about that.

Also, I remember that we asked what the assailants were saying about SB as they were bound up, and Amma’s grandsons assured us that none of the four said anything against SB. I still remember clearly to this day, the darting eyes of the grandson as he said that to us, and wondering if it was the darting eyes of a lie to his elderly grandmother, and wondering if they could really not be saying anything against SB, when they had broken in (what we believed at that time) to kill him? Of course, dead men tell no tales!”

Blind persons sought cure from Sathya Sai Baba – “no luck”

Posted by robertpriddy on December 5, 2014

Ulf told us the other night that the blind middle-aged Danish devotee Henning was told by Baba in an interview that he could cure his blindness, but then Henning would have to be blind in the next life! AS DEFERRED KARMA” (from my Indian visit diary notebook, Sunday 1st November, 1998)

Ulf was Ulf Sviberg, then a very active office-bearer in the Swedish Organization who wore a large white stone set in a gold ring – called a diamond by Sai Baba and everyone else there. But there can be no doubt that it is another of the typical cheap synthetic ‘gemstonea’ Sathya Sai Baba gave away which nearly all close devotees insist are diamonds!

I sometimes sat near to a male Danish follower called Henning on the chairs at darshan. He was desperate to be cured of his very long-term blindness and who visited many healers and diverse other avatar claimants in the hope of success. He remained blind, however. So the presumptuous Full Avatar could not actually cure his blindness (though devotees will say he ‘would not for karmic reasons’ so as to protect their blind faith in this frequent maker of false promises of healing and protection).

Uncured blindness at Puttaparthi

V.K. Narasimhan with one eye blind

V.K. Narasimhan with one eye blind

There are many cases of blindness Sathya Sai Baba never cured, and V.K. Narasimhan told me he had never come across a single genuine case of cure in 20 years following every event at the ashram. I also knew a blind Frenchman who I often assisted who was also sorely disappointed after long stays at the ashrams. When I sat beside him he wanted a running commentary on whether Sai Baba looked at him or not. I did not clearly see Sai Baba do so.

Further, I knew a totally blind Indian man in his 40s or so who lived permanently in Puttaparthi who sat on the chairs for invalids every day. I had conversations with him and visited him where he had rooms in Puttaparthi village. He told me that he believed his own brother was planning to murder him, because Sathya Sai Baba had told him that and said it was best for him to leave home and everything behind him permanently, which he had done – poor soul. He had been there for years and had to ask anyone he could manage to get into conversation with for help of one kind or another (a shirt, a pair of pants), while his blindness was still the same despite endless prayers to Sathya Sai Baba.

no-disease-whateverSathya Sai Baba could not even cure the blindness in one eye of his own indispensable editor of his journal Sanathana Sarathi, V.K. Narasimhan, despite personally applying vibuti to it when it became infected (See here) and/or See my notes at the time here

Finally, Sai Baba lost weight tremendously and was on stimulants and sleeping pills before hospitalisation in 2011 where he also suffered a whole series of organ failures: heart, lungs, kidneys, liver, brain… none of which he could cure. So much for his lifetime of boasting of his perfect health and omnipotence.

“V.K. Narasimhan told me he had never come across a single genuine case of cure in 20 years following every event at the ashram.” This is a VERY telling account, and one that most if not all of us long-time residents of the ashram can attest to. The ‘cures’ giddily discussed by us devotees more often than not involved fanciful thinking or coincidences. For instance, if we got a fever, it was swami’s will and helping us to overcome karma. If the fever went away after a week (as fevers usually do), then swami cured us, glory be!

Vir Sanghvi on truth about Sai Baba

Posted by robertpriddy on December 4, 2014

Shortly after Sathya Sai Baba’s birthday celebrations in November 2006, the courageous Indian journalist, Mr. Vir Sanghvi, published an article in the Hindustan Times which vindicated the work the many accusers of the guru for extended sexual molestations and abuses of boys and young men in his ashram behind closed doors.

Indian guru Sant Rampal’s followers on rampage

Posted by robertpriddy on December 3, 2014

Tainted ‘godman’ Sant Rampal’s is like that of many a self-proclaimed ‘saint’ in India. He owns a cult worth Rs 100 crores, he known as Satguru Rampal Ji Mahara (aged 63). Rampal supporters fought pitched battles with security forces throwing stones and bricks, also opening fire when police tried to raid his ashram in the northern state of Haryana. After causing mayhem, the charlatan guru is in prison at last. He was but a junior engineer with the Haryana irrigation department in 2000, but got fired. Ia about 14 years, he accumulated a huge fan following, 12 acre ashram a fleet of top-priced cars. With money-making charlatans a law unto themselves, this is what India’s ‘spirituality in action’ and pseudo-Hinduism has descended to. Rampal considers himself an incarnation of the 15th-century mystic poet Kabir (to whose identity Sathya Sai Baba also added to his list of previous births!).

His sprawling 12 acre ashram in Barwala, Haryana has air-conditioned rooms for important followers and even lecture halls equipped with LED screens. He is said to have his own property in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and also in Delhi, apart from ashrams in Rohtak and another under-construction ashram in Barwala.

After the deadly ashram clashes, he has risen to international notoriety in that both Indian and world news outlets have castigated him.
