Tsunami Calamity anniversary and Sai Baba

Posted by robertpriddy on December 26, 2014

TODAY marks a decade since the massive earthquake struck 100 miles off the coast of the Indonesian island of Sumatra, triggering the biggest tsunami ever recorded. A final death estimate of this vast tragedy around the world – mainly in 13 countries on two continents – was 230,273, with 45,752 missing presumed dead.

Sathya Sai Baba blamed the 2004 tsunami disaster and all such disasters on “moral lapses”, while he held God (which he constantly claimed himself to be) was exempt from ALL responsibility!

These are some of Sai Baba’s totally unscientific moralizing statements about natural disasters and how they are caused by human actions! This is part of the huge millenia-old religious delusion that attributes all good things that happen to a loving Godhead Creator, and all bad things as having other causes, especially human! The Asian tsunami disaster of 2004 was most certainly caused by major undersea volcanic action resulting from the tensions built up by the collision of tectonic plates, an exclusively physical event.  These collisions have been happening as long as the landmasses and oceans of earth have existed and long before humanity evolved on earth. So how could human being be in any way responsible for them? Amazing that otherwise reasonably educated people still worship Sai Baba after knowing he spouts such sheer superstitious nonsense! His self-claimed Omniscience, Omnipotence, Omnipresence and Omnibenevolence and being the Incarnation of God on Earth, Saviour of Mankind and Avatar of the Era). The same goes for all other preachers of  a Creator God’s compassion for mankind.

The claims of Sai Baba to enhance himself were endless and beyond all limits. See this small example, just to show that I am not exaggerating:-

Prayer overpowers nuclear ‘melt-down’?
There is an interesting story in an interview on Radio Sai with Dr Deepak Anand (Fleeting Moments Lasting Memories, May 2012) where he reports an amazing incident of Swami hearing and responding to the intense prayers of many people. FM_LM_120_DR_DEEPAK_ANAND_PART_02.mp3 (about 33 minutes from start)

Basically….Swami was sitting in total silence for a long time (I think, in the interview room but don’t know the year) and then asked the students present about the significance of that day, what happened on that day? He then revealed it was an anniversary of the day the atomic bomb was dropped on Hiroshima. He went on to say that, at that very moment in Osaka in Japan, thousands of people had gathered with candles lit, and “they are all praying to Me that such a catastrophe, should never befall any other nation… I listened to their prayers and I came!”

Hearing this, I felt more strongly that Swami’s illness in 2011 was indeed connected with the earthquake in Japan. Long before the 2011 disaster, He had responded to the fervent prayers of people calling out on the anniversary of Hiroshima and, I believe, He had then made a promise to them, which was fulfilled in 2011.
