More modern Indians on the march

An admirable ‘anonymous and faceless’ movement by an Indian collective with the motto – ‘Only Work No Talk’ inspires by example to get ordinary people to take on the task of cleaning up the filth that is found in most public spaces in India. It is an anonymous collective that does not talk to media and wants no such publicity. The linked video, however, was made independently. See the inspiring video at Sathya Sai Baba Badly Failed. E.g., See Inspiring Tedx Talk On ‘The Ugly Indian’ Movement
Observers of Indian media over the last 15 years can see that, particularly after the death of Sathya Sai Baba and the fight over his legacy and hoarded treasures, there is a sea change underway across the country. Now at last the Biggest earning Bollywood film exposes blind belief in ‘godmen’! All this has no doubt been aided by the arrest of the now infamous Asaram Bapu and his son Narayan Sai and the continuing furore, as well as by increasing arrests of various other fraudulent ‘godmen’ like Swami Nityananda and an increasingly widespread criticism of rich and suspicious gurus in Indian press and TV.
Also most notably, a foundation for this increasing awareness has been laid by the exhaustive work of the Indian Rationalists (CSICOP) under the current very active leadership of Professor Narendra Nayak (see Indian Skeptic) and of the Federation of Indian Rationalists Associations (FIRA), whose leader Sanal Edamaruku who has had to flee India to Finland for exposing a wholly indubitable religious scam due to an obscurantist Indian law against blasphemy of which the whole of India should be deeply ashamed.
Welcome progress is being made against the excesses of Hinduism in the form of self-proclaimed avatars, godmen, holy mothers, maharishis and all manner of other Indian charlatan and religious profiteer, often sexual abusers and criminals. However, there is the usual backlash from fanatical Hindu religious reactionaries, who now have a champion in Prime Minister Narendra Modi (even though he is now apparently having to being more careful in promoting his former strong anti-Muslim actions and agenda). For example, an Indian parliament member from ruling party BJP – Sakshi Maharaj – vows death sentences for Hindus converting to Islam or Christianity! Maharaj is an outspoken member of Modi’s Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), whose leadership has not so far condemned his statement or distanced itself from this reckless fanaticism. (See inset photo)
