The Deccan Chronicle reports: ‘Karnataka ashram rivals Puttaparthi‘ stating: “A parallel trust and ashram in Karnataka is befuddling Satya Sai devotees. Former members of the Satya Sai Central Trust of Puttaparthi and a group of staunch devotees of the late Satya Sai Baba are reportedly supporting the new ashram at Muddenahalli in Karnataka.
A 23-year-old MBA graduate from the Satya Sai Baba campus has claimed to be a manifestation of the godman. He is reportedly receiving letters like the late Satya Sai Baba did, from devotees who are thronging the new ashram for special pujas on Thursdays and Sundays. He gives interviews to important devotees.
With the MBA graduate claiming to be a manifestation of the Satya Sai Baba, several traditions have been copied from Prasanthi Nilayam.
Sources said, many devotees going to the ashram from Puttaparthi on Sundays and Thursdays. “At least 300 taxis are running to Muddenahalli after darshan of the Mahasamadhi.
The new ashram resembles Prasanthi Nilayam and was built at Rs 30 crore. Work on a Rs 12-crore bhajan mandir is under progress.
A most hilarious declaration of faith is posted on the Internet under the oxymoronic title “I believe with absolute certainty’ By Narender Thangavelu, He attrubutes this faith to a highly speculative book ‘Sai Thy Kingdom Come’ of which he says ” (it) has not restored my faith. Instead, it produced a faith where there was void and triggered a new perspective. Dreams are notoriously unreliable and nothing we experiece is further from providing certainty about anything. They are created by the subconscious mind, a brain-generated confusion drawn from the vast personal resources of subliminal and conscious memory, stimulated by the waking person’s most central desires and hopes, anxieties and fears. How do I know this? Well, I had over 300 unusual dreams about Sai Baba when I was concentrated on his life and teaching.I even entitled my original pro-Sai book, which he also blessed’ as ‘Source of the Dream – my way to Sathya Sai Baba’. I wrote down every dream immediately on awakening, as I had done for 30 years previous to my first dream of him. When studying psychology in th 1960s, I had been a a Freudian, then a Jungian and later held numerous other major interests, and in each case my dreams produced scenarios which were full of the symbolisms of each ‘theory’. Since my total disillusionment with him, I realised finally how the brain plays with itself to create dreams which reflect one’s deepest concerns at any time. So dreams are the on-going result of what is central to a person’s aims and struggles and wish fulfilments.
On such an unreliable foundation, the entire phenomenon of Muddenahalli is conjectures, as also was most of what Sathya Sai Baba himself also ‘taught’.
