‘Sathya Sai Baba’ sports invite?

Posted by robertpriddy on January 28, 2016

sportsmeetClick image to see fuller announcement

All we need: yet another hot, dusty, lengthy, amateurishly boring sports ‘meet’ in the suspicious “divine presence”! Oracle boy is relentless with trying to drum up support concentration on him! The way these unscrupulous people have annexed the entire Sathya Sai Baba brand through an outrageously transparent fraud is amazing to all who do not know the ultra-gullibility of many Indians and those who believe all the nonsense about Sathya Sai Baba and his supposed continued existence.

In this connection one may well consider the evidence for the belief in the afterlife

Sai Baba medical institute in decline

Posted by robertpriddy on January 24, 2016

The article below is interesting for two reasons: it encourages “participation” (donations) and, only 150 people showed up for the annual event, out of tens of thousands alumni at the college. This is how vastly the engagement in Sai Baba institutions has diminished, the reasons being many and especially the many unresolved court actions against Sai Baba bodies and representatives, all of which seem to have been bought off with bribes in the corrupt tradition of Sai Baba himself (see testimonial evidence).

Asaram Bapu’s sixth bail plea rejected!

See latest: Asaram Bapu and Narayan tax bomb – major setback for them
Jodhpur: The bail plea of self-styled godman Asaram, who is in jail in connection with a rape case, was on Friday rejected by a sessions court. This is the sixth bail application of 74-year-old Asaram which has been rejected by the court. He was sent to jail in August, 2013 for allegedly sexually assaulting a 16-year-old school girl. Citing the order of the court, the victim’s counsel, PC Solanki said, “The court did not consider the arguments like the age of Asaram and delayed FIR by the girl”.
Asaram was represented in court by BJP leader Subramanian Swamy. Swamy had appeared in the court on Monday to plead on the bail application. The court had completed the arguments on bail application on Monday itself and had reserved the order for today. While Asaram was not in court, a large number of his supporters were present.

Sai Baba’s letters to his sister Venkamma

Posted by robertpriddy on January 17, 2016

An e-mail circulated from SaiSurya@SukshmaBabaReport.Org announces that handwritten letters from Sathya Sai Baba to his elder sister Venkamma have been published on-line at

An insider who read them while living in with Venkamma in her Prashanthi apartment comments on these. Eileen Weed (aka ‘Divya’) lived at Prashanthi Nilayam between 1984 and 2005, and was resident in the ashram for years, and years with Venkamma until she died (Eileen was at her actual deathbed!). She knew Venkamma and the female side of Sai Baba’s family very well and had learned to be fluent in Telugu. She writes “I recognized the scans of the ‘Letters’, because Venkamma kept the letters sb wrote to her safely in a little tin box in her room. After she died, her grandson took them, along with audio cassettes with recordings I made of Venkamma singing and telling sb stories (which usually ended in her cursing family members for their cruelty, deceit and selfishness against her). In his letters Sai Baba only writes about mundane, worldly matters with hardly any god-talk philosophy, it appears! This was his true self, not the façade he erected in front of thousands of people.”

Indeed, the letters are most pedestrian fare – hardly what one would expect the self-proclaimed Avatar of the Age, Creator of the Universe, Father who sent Christ, Deity of Deities and Saviour of Mankind etc. etc. to write. In one letter, sb was telling Venkamma not to give any more money to workers because they are trying to ‘cheat’ him with not enough work. This from the iniquitous Universal Cheat Himself, Sathya Sai Baba, who claimed he knew everything about everything (not least how to cheat). Besotted devotees will claim that he was simply ‘acting out’ a role as an ordinary man so devotees could more easily relate to him for their benefit of mankind (but Sai Baba was his own NO 1 beneficiary). Venkamma knew the bottom line  and she hardly ever did more than lip service to some of his pretenses, never telling of Sai childhood miracles – the elder sister kept an eye on him and was not deceived. His elder brother, Mr. Sesham Raju, also knew the score!

It is surprising that they even published the letters online, as anyone can read them and see the worldliness and lack of empathy (which anyone living in the ashram long term knew about). Of course, the ever-cautious Trust did not publish the letters, but the new and naïve Muddy adherents. The question is, what contacts do they have that gave those letters? It has to be either a sb family member or inner circle member (I had given Mrs Ratenlal a copy of the letters, who used to cook for sb and attend his meals in the old days). I wrote to the Muddy people (incognito) and asked if they also had the audio recordings of Venkamma singing and talking, but did not receive a reply.

Sai Baba upheld dangerous deep Black Magic & Witchcraft superstitions

Posted by robertpriddy on January 15, 2016

Belief in black magic, witchcraft and the powers of sinister tantric priests is still widespread in India, even among some well-educated and ruling classes.  The newspaper article text on beheading of a mere boy reproduced below is but one of the latest in an endless series of reports of murders due to these sick beliefs. For example, a long series of Indian Presidents and Prime Ministers have worshipped Sathya Sai Baba, and still do, yet he was adamant that these practices are real. Not surprising, therefore, that it is proving impossible to eliminate black magic and associated killings of defenseless victims of accusers. This is a largely defunct aspect of Hinduism depending on beliefs in demonic deities, assuaging them through sacrifices.

“Of course, there is magic in the world both white and black; but, the manifestation of Divine Power must not be interpreted as magic. Can the crow’s egg and the cuckoo’s egg be identified as belonging to one class?”  Sathya Sai Baba Speaks –  Vol 10. p. 261 (click)

Asked, “Do demons really exist, Swami?” he replied “Yes! Those who committed suicide, those killed in accidents, those who met with an untimely death, all these will be roaming around like ghosts.” (p. 41  – Anyatha Saranam Nasthi  (‘Other than you refuge there is none’)  by Sai devotee Smt. Vijayumari – p. 41)

Another adulatory and overblown hagiography is ‘Lokanatha Sai’ by M.N. Leela, [signed/ authenticated in 1995 by Sathya Sai Baba] where we read of his spreading superstitions about black magic: “Swami called my mother and others separately and said that a black magician had done havoc to my father: on that Friday when my father went early morning with bailiff and removed his shed put in our land at Guindy. He also said. “Dig the spot where you find broken pots and remove the remains of goat and chicken etc and throw them off. Now he is fully recovered, but the aim of the sorcerer Is to drive him mad and ultimately kill him.” ( p. 151) See scan of the excerpt

Four-year-old boy beheaded in human sacrifice in southern India
According to Indian media, a 35-year-old man abducted the little boy as he walked home from nursery and killed him in a ritual dedicated to the Hindu Goddess Kali.  A four year-old-boy has been beheaded in a gruesome “human sacrifice” ritual in a rural village in southern India.
Indian media reports a 35-year-old man abducted the little boy as he was returning home from nursery in the remote Prakasam district of Andhra Pradesh state.
The man, named as Tirumala Rao, is reported to have beheaded the child in a ritual to honour the Hindu Goddess Kali and he was alleged to be seeking “divine powers”, according the Times of India. Mr Rao was discovered next to the little boy’s, named locally as Manu Sagar, body. Police officers believe he strangled the boy before chopping his head off as they found rope at the scene.

Sai Baba sex warnings ignored

Posted by robertpriddy on January 12, 2016

Lest one forget how far back reports of Sathya Sai Baba’s homosexuality go, I re-post some of the many communications received for the edification of those who still believe Sai Baba was ‘pure’. That he also authorised beatings of those who spoke out about his abuses is little known but reported from several reliable sources.

Date: 11-19-02  E-mail to Robert Priddy from Barry Newton, ex-devotee of Sathya Sai Baba.
The following mail was received from a former Australian devotee and office-bearer:

“Dear Robert ~ again your recollections have sparked a memory similar to yours just now posted.

In 1995, the occasion of my and my wife’s first visit to SB. I suppose we should have been very much wiser, but that is only easy to say retrospectively, as a member of the Sai Center we attended gave us this warning prior to our departure: “Don’t listen to what anyone tells you about Swami. There are a lot of rumours going about saying that SB is a homosexual and paedophile and murderer. You’ll hear plenty of rumours about SB, so take no notice.” Retrospectively we truly wish that we had listened carefully to the ‘rumours’.

However we went anyway, and our first encounter at the SB ashram was at the accommodation office where we payed for two weeks accommodation up front, requiring 500 rupees change from the large notes issued at the money exchange. The accommodation attendant took the money, put the correct amount in the till, removed the 500 rupees and, looking me squarely in the eye, closed down the window and brazenly walked out of the room. We waited for quite some time until we realised that he would not be returning with the money. As do all Sai devotees, we rationalised it off as a test of our faith by SB. And as do all ex-devotees, we see it now for what it truly was – organised crime.
Yours in truth ~ Barry Newton”

Former long-term devotee and teacher at Sai Baba’s Brindavan College for over a year, Barry Pittard of Brisbane, wrote:-

“Between 1979 and 1982 I heard four stories, described below, relating Sathya Sai Baba to homosexuality: from Joseph (U.S.A.) in 1979; Donna (U.S.A.), perhaps in the same year; Connie Raadsma, a close neighbour of mine in Australia, in 1981; and an Australian woman who spoke to me at Puttaparthi in 1982. Like me, Joseph and Donna were of the tiny handful of long-stay Westerners he permitted to live around him, mostly in Whitefield I taught for two years at his college there), about 20 km from Bangalore, India’s fifth largest city. Donna was now one of a few Sathya Sai Baba forbade from entering his ashrams but who, ever faithful, would stand outside the gate straining to glimpse him. She claimed that she had spoken to various older Puttaparthi residents who said that Sai Baba had been homosexual even as a boy. (Note: expert evidence attests that most homosexuals do not practice child molestation). Perhaps Donna was expelled from the ashram for opening her mouth a bit too widely! Let us see in a moment what happened to Joseph when he opened his. And what happened to me, too.

In July 1982, acting only out of care for her (and indeed for all who may hear such stories), the moment I passed on the Australian woman’s concerns – who in great anxiety had sought me out for advice as having lived at the Sathya Sai Baba ashrams extensively – to two of Sathya Sai Baba’s top leaders Howard Murphet (Australia) and Richard Bayer (USA) about allegations of his homosexuality, I was called up to the office day after day by the Puttaparthi ashram manager, Kutumb Rao, a retired High Court Judge, confronted with patently ridiculous accusations, and on the fourth day told “Swami has asked that you be sent out, and never return.” (One of the accusations was: You were seen in the ashram talking to a woman.” It can only have been the Australian woman who came up to me in distress).

In 1979, in the crowd awaiting Sai Baba’s public appearance (darshan), sat Joseph. Called a hippy by the village children (who may have been right), he appeared to be in his psychedelic thirties, and was one of three or so Westerners remaining after the hippies and others had departed from Sai Baba in the late sixties. Joseph began to discourse, for all of us to hear – and I sat just behind him. With rising stress levels and moral outrage, he said more than once that some college boys had told him that Sai Baba had asked a number of them (in Joseph’s words) to “line up and masturbate.” On the third or so day of Joseph’s dark rumblings, six hefty Indian male service volunteers (seva dals) came and carried him out, ordering him not to return. The immensely powerful Joseph fought them, roaring out the accusations for all to hear. A very distressed Indian man said to me, “If Sai Baba is God, why do they need to use all this violence against this man?” An hour afterwards, one of the volunteers told me that ejecting Joseph was ‘like wrestling a tiger.’ He told me that his task saddened him, as he had known Joseph for so many years.

For the next days, while people awaited darshan (Sanskrit: viewing of a holy person), Joseph climbed a tree outside the ashram wall, and cried out the allegations for us all to hear. Then, he was gone. I heard from my close friend and local resident, Siva Subramanian, a Tamil who knew some of the Tamil police constables, that the Kadugodi police had badly thrashed Joseph and sent him on his way. So much, then, for the cardinal doctrine of ahimsa or non-violence in Sathya Sai Baba’s ashrams and in the land that still daily venerates Mahatma Gandhi along with the Dalai Lama, the towering apostles of non-violence.”

Rahul Sharma from Canada was the victim of a most gruesome incident at Sathya Sai Baba’s Ootacamund school:-

“Rahul was a smart looking boy who got close to SB through the help of the teachers, like the Principal Mr. Habbu, who were looking for smart boys to speak in public and to go closer to SB. Rahul was abused in the very first interview. He used to cry a lot. Even when he disclosed it to his father, this stupid man beat his son with chappals in plain view in front of the school. Later on Rahul did a very brave thing which surprised everyone and that is why we think he was thrown out. While Speaking before Sai Baba in public in the Poornachandra Hall, he very clearly stated that swami had shown him in private in the interview room his SHIVA SWAROOP FOLLOWED BY ARDHANARISHWAR ROOP (that means, God Shiva as half man and half woman). For one moment even Sai Baba looked stunned. Later on the boy was given a terrible thrashing for this glaring mistake.

Today, I cannot but respect the bravery of that boy. I think this shows the terrible nature of working at the Sai-schools. I still fail to understand what made” People like Principal Habbu or Munni Kaul partners in crime at Puttaparthi.” (see here)
Two revealing testimonial comments (below) made on an Express Buzz article (shown in full here) were:-

TO: Krishnakumar- I used to be a devotee of Sai Baba till my boyfriend was given a private meeting when he took him inside and asked him to do sexual things with him. My boy friend was shocked , he refused, came out. My boy friend is heterosexual. We both left Puttaparthi because, after that we were threatened by Sai Baba’s thugs. We were both 23 yrs old. We realized that we had to leave. So don’t live in your make believe world!!!! Wake up. I bet you are not sexually interesting , otherwise he would have tried you too. By Linda Burton 12/26/2009 11:45:00 PM

Dear Arun, Nice to have a bright person like you in our midst. By Srilakshmi 12/26/2009 11:38:00 PM Dear Sethuraman and Krishnakumarji, I am not basing my allegations on some hearsay. I have spoken to Tanya Dutta. Please see the way Murali Manohar Joshi responding in Youtube. Why would God want to put a boy’s penis in his mouth? Please read the interviews in Youtube. Why would anybody defame himself by saying these things he had with sai baba? And so many people? Why would God want to perform miracles and give diamonds and rings to rich people? Why is India so Poor if God lives in India? Why would God have such kitsch taste and be born so ugly? … Read his autobiography: Hisstory , this book is a clear indication of his complete lack of intelligence. If you get impressed by a man like this you are emotionally retarded. Sorry to be so straight! By Srilakshmi

Unaccountability continues at Sathya Sai Central Trust

Posted by robertpriddy on January 7, 2016

We read on the blog of a certain Ravi S. Iyer that Indulal Shah and S.V. Giri have vacated their offices of Central Trust trustees “on account of their physical and mental incapacity“. Iyer notes that “The Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust took note of the continued absence and non participation…

One must ask: Who is designated to take such grave decisions? It was thought that all Central Trust members have the same power, for there is no longer any head of the Trust, as far anybody knows. In earlier days when Sathya Sai was alive to preside, there were a number of dismissals, disciplinary actions, banning of members, etc. (never announced but impossible to hide). But for today’s faceless manipulators (surely cowardly cousin Ratnakar & gang) to axe Indulal Shah, the person instrumental in creating Sri Sathya Sai Seva organizations without any announcement by him, looks like an act of revenge, since Shah donated ill-gotten gains to the hated competing Muddenahalli gang. is just another example of high-handed authoritarian rule, such as the decision by Prashanthi VIPs to sack Michael Goldstein, the former International Chairman who was appointed by Sathya Sai himself and kept in office for decades by him. However, by his unscrupulous cover-ups, major blundering bossiness (such as towards the BBC, who paid him back in spades) and weak-minded bellowings lacking single feasible idea of his own, Goldstein richly earned his dismissal.

Remaining devotee hangers-on were most probably hoping that there could be some efforts for rapprochement and that unity might prevail. That has never ever been the case in the Sai cult, where – instead of genuine unity – the facade of conformity was enforced by rigorous means, threats, dismissals, bannings and even some merciless beatings … a climate in which many suicides and infamous outright executions took place and were accepted by all without qualms as being necessary karma!

The dossier on Indulal Shah is a fat one:-
Indulal Shah, flawed exponent of Sathya Sai Baba’s precepts

Indulal Shah, cover-up man for Sai Baba Sai Baba’s untruthful lackey, the former politician Indulal Shah, planned for world-wide “nation building” in the name of Sai Baba. Having become Sai Baba’s right-hand man, and – for decades – the leader of the Sathya Sai Organization worldwide, he presumed to aspire to instruct nations in the totalitarian style of the Prashanthi Nilayam township…

V.K. Narasimhan on the Sathya Sai Organization, Indulal Shah, embezzlements Shah could contravene Sai Baba’s own directives because he had world-wide contact with leaders in many countries, especially where he had installed Maharastrian Indians…

COMMENT: eileenweed said No one is too much of a VIP to be dumped by the Trust, if they show support for the ‘oracle boy’ at Muddenahalli. They even threw out Isaac Tigrett, despite the millions of dollars he gave!”
