Prince Charles stopped from following/visiting Sathya Sai Baba

An early Indian immigrant to UK, Manubhai C. Patel, who I visited a few times in Wembley (London), where he lived with his wife, was the earliest promoter in UK of books by and about Sathya Sai Baba. He sent a copy of each new Sai Baba related book in English to Prince Charles, who personally acknowledged them and his interest.

Manubhai Patel was a fully signed-up ‘true believer’ in Sathya Sai Baba’s claim that he was the creator and sustainer of the entire universe:-

It was primarily due to the efforts of the Sai Baba exposé from 2000 onwards that the Prince of Wales, Charles, was finally stopped from visiting and seeking further contact with Sathya Sai Baba, to whom he had written letters expressing his appreciation of the guru and his desire to visit him in India. When the UK authorities, including the Foreign Office and MI6 plus the Metropolitan Police, found that Sai Baba was under many clouds of suspicion for sexual abuses and cover-ups of many untoward incidents, including cold-blooded execution in his own apartment of four of his former Indian devotees, that an internal investigation was begun. One only has to know a little about the Royal Family to realise that, had the heir to the throne been publicly involved with this largely unexposed cult, what a huge furore would follow about it, with dire likely effects on the British constitution, the Royal Family and much besides. Therefore the investigations by the British authorities their subsequent pressures on the Palace to stop such developments had to be conducted in complete secrecy.

One may ask how therefore I can state such things, and I learnt of them. Firstly, the British security services investigated David Bailey, who had been a very close and privileged devotee of SB, whereupon he publicised many facts about their concerns and what measures were taken to isolate him from the Royal Family, who he knew and whose princes (William and Harry) he was teaching music. Secondly, we in the exposé had a secret source who had contact within royal circles, the Foreign Office, Parliament and other top institutions in London. His identity has been kept secret, due to his position and professional constraints. In this way we learned of some of the secret deals made between some UK and Indian authorities (including Tony Blair) and other matters concerning Sai Baba investigations.

Though Prince Charles’ fascination with Sai Baba and plans to visit him were eventually stymied, it did not stop the then-alienated and Royal divorced from Prince Andrew, Sarah Ferguson, from visiting Sai Baba, where she was ‘taken in’ as so many others were.

Who is ‘swami’ – the hard questions first?

Just for your continued amusement (if not bemusement):- It doesn’t look like the worshippers of the ‘subtle body’ of Sathya Sai Baba can even figure out what or who they are talking about, with their pleas to ‘help swami’. If they believe he is the all-powerful god, what does that even mean? Don’t leave him to deal with the world all on his poor, lonesome, solitary self? Seems like they are desperate to gather names to show how popular he is, when indeed he is NOT. The added problem (like a vaudeville act) is who this ‘swami’ is…  Sathya Sai Baba seems far too easily confused with his ex-student Madhu Sudan (i.e. the impostor or ‘oracle boy’).

Sai Surya mind-washed believer in the Muddenahalli scam

Sai Surya circulated his report on the Muddenahalli Maha Shivarathri lingam production scam by Madhu Sudan (aka ‘Sukshma Baba’ claimed to be the host to the disembodied Sathya Sai Baba’s ghost).  He claimed “We witnessed the impossible.” and writes reams of Sai Baba nonsense, seeming to wish to be a guru himself. (eg. “Swami is beyond all experiences. He has no limitation and can do anything, anytime, anywhere. We should become instruments of Swami. We should also note that beings from all over the universe including the gods were there to witness the birth of the lingam and to be part of the excitement that followed. More invisibles came later to be in this special vibration of the One beyond all and all in action. There was excitement all over the universe. We are able to be here now as the results of many lifetimes.“)
Sai Surya is like the children of whom he wrote: “Children understand his being because they connect
to Swami with hearts of pure love.” But at a tender age, children can be induced to believe anything they are told.
Among some of the other utter naive ideas he also forwarded. such as “Because you cannot see God does not mean that He is not there. Like clouds covering the sun” – “There were many invisibles entities here absorbing the Love which will be spread where it is needed. The effect of the bhajans singing will go far beyond these walls throughout the universe to all levels.”
… which is no better than “Because you can’t see Superman or Elvis, it does not mean he is not there”. As to this love, it is the kind gurus and devotees talk about endlessly but somehow cannot be observed or met in most Indian ashrams, only imagined, while in its place the money rolls in from well-heeled credulous people and exotically mind-boggled foreigners.

In response to this report of the fake lingodbhava by an imposter, the Sathya Sai devotee Shubha Ramesh Kumar posted an excerpt of a discourse by his God and guru from ‘Sathya Sai Speaks in 1973, which included:-

This overlooks the fact that Sathya Sai Baba himself was an imposter who pretended to be the reincarnation of Shirdi Sai Baba and many another famous figure from Indian history and mythology, including Rama, Krishna, Vishnu and other avatars! Sathya Sai Baba was just a better actor than Madhu Sudan, but his lingam productions were undoubtedly no more genuine and followed the method of Houdini. When he no longer could manage to swallow the golden lingam before the time he should bring it forth, he reverted to sheer sleight-of-hand, using a handkerchief to cover his mouth before he opened it and let it fall out. The BBC filmed this event when making their film ‘The Secret Swami’ (where his failure was revealed) and he pretended the effort had made him ill, collapsed and went of stage without the lingam appearing. Later he returned holding the lingam, which the crowd was told he had brought forth in the usual manner. Thus hopelessly lost in religious fevered imaginings is the Indian guru follower.

Muddenahalli Madhusudan lingam manifestation

The massive fraud being perpetrated in Muddenahalli, near Bangalore, by Madhu Sudan and his mendacious promoters is testing the limits to which one can go with deception of innocents and desperate seekers of miracles and realisation of vain spiritual hopes. Now this impostor has extended his imitation of Sathya Sai Baba’s more fraudulent ‘miracles’ to allegedly producing a golden Shiva lingam from his stomach, spitting it out without further ado on the night of Shiva (Maha Shivarathri at the new moon). 

This lingam production racket is just an old trick of Houdini origin (see here), taken up by many in India and elsewhere.

Mustafa, a street magician or fakir regurgitates a lingam (short video clip)

 In the above very brief streaming video clip in MP4 (only a few Kbs), the street illusionist shown was filmed by a German crew I watched filming in 1990 at Brindavan ashram. The German commentary stated that Mustapha, the magician, earns his money as a ‘wonderful artist’ who genuinely brings out a stone from his mouth.

Re Sai Baba Lingam: Trick a star act on British TV
British TV-watchers were very surprised recently when a man appeared on the popular show “Britain’s Got Talent” and swallowed coins, which he could regurgitate at will, even bringing out any particular numbered coin a member of the audience chose. He then proceeded to swallow a full-sized billiard ball, and then regurgitate it. He did all this without drinking water or making grimaces of suffering for quarter of an hour (as Sathya Sai Baba used to do to increase the suspense, for he had a captive audience).

Erlendur Haraldsson was completely fooled by Sai Baba:  Haraldsson visited Prashanthi Nilayam on at least two occasions after 2000 and before Sai Baba died hoping to see the so-called ‘lingodbhava‘ (alleged materialisation of the egg-shaped Shiva lingam in his stomach, ejected through the mouth). He told me he saw it once from a distance and his view was obscured the other time. As a parapsychological researcher who claims to have been instructed by stage magicians, he has not reported on the failed attempt to regurgitate a lingam in 2002 in the BBC documentary, nor in numerous other video clips. It seems he was still not interested in seeing these. He never contacted the BBC research team (under director Eamon Hardy) nor the Danish TV documentary director Øivind Kyrø (‘Seduced by Sai Baba’). Considering EH’s repeated visits to view the Shivarathri ‘lingam regurgitation’ which SB reintroduced in 2000 after a lapse of many years to counteract the effect of the allegation storm against him, EH apparently did not know that Houdini first developed the trick of swallowing and regurgitating a large egg-shaped object Haraldsson is a confused and would-be believer in Sai Baba’s greatness, without studying the massive contrary evidence.

Lingam ‘materialised’ by Sukshma Baba on Maha Sivarathri!

The continuing Muddenahalli scam engineered by Narasimha Murthy and fronted by former abused Sai student  Madhusudan (so-called Sukshma Baba, the fake ‘oracle boy’ invested with Sai Baba’s ‘subtle body) seems to have no bounds. Now he is venturing further and imitating Sathya Sai Baba by spitting out a lingam on Maha Sivarathri. The level of cynical criminality Madhusudana has reached is jaw-dropping. A video shows him quickly spitting out a (small) object, supposedly a lingam (because the occasion was Maha Shivarathri, when Sathya Sai would allegedly produce lingams). Clearly this is just a beginning with a beginner-sized object swallowed and regurgitated (if it even was swallowed). One may expect bigger lingams in future when Madhusudan has had more practice… before he quite likely dares to announce himself as being ‘Prema Sai’ (of conferring this on some groomed boy from Mandya district already heralded as Prema Sai, where Madhusudan and entourage recently visited.

Totally deluded Indians (of which there are so many plus some cognitively challenged foreigners), see it as a miraculous manifestation have no idea that the technique of swallowing and later regurgitating an object like an egg was invented and perfected by the world-famous magician Houdini. It is not divine or miraculous in any respect.

This regurgitation trick has been done by other Hindu gurus and street fakirs, notably the criminal Swami Premananda who did the same on Shivarathri (as well as producing masses of vibuthi). Con-man imitation Sai Baba guru Premananda died in prison years after the Supreme Court convicted him of multiple rape and murder on DNA evidence).

This is incredible credulous India, land of adult belief in stupendous archaic myths and rank superstitions. The majority of the population (even including Presidents, PMs and Government Ministers, judges, celebrities etc) are easy meat for gurus who have learned trickery, guru lore and tantric magic. These frauds are often very smart at presenting themselves with the most positive ‘spiritual’ ideals and service works (which absorb only a proportion of the vast sums they swindle out of the public). The well-intentioned, do-gooder person is very vulnerable to this, especially if they are foreigners, who cannot without decades of involvement find out the iniquitous kinds of deceit – level below level – that are ingrained in so much of Indian life.

The Magic Academy taught anyone, probably including swamis, to defraud and deceive with supposed ‘holy miracles’. However, this enterprise ran into great problems and the YouTube video had to be removed. Typical with the Hindu-dominated governments and judiciary.
