Sathya Sai Organization President of 10 states resignation

Posted by robertpriddy on October 30, 2010

Among the many professional who were leaders in the Sathya Sai Organization who learned from victims and their families of sexual abuses by Sathya Sai Baba was the child psychologist Shirley Pike – who is hence also a mandatory reporter of abuses. She took the full consequences of her discoveries, unlike many of those leaders in the organization who failed to heed their consciences despite all the pompous talk about truth, goodness and human values. These self-serving leaders of Sai Baba’s organization and other institutions have further tried their utmost to hide not only the facts but all reports by those who have confirmed those facts through professional and personal investigations. This applies as much to all who are promoting Sathya Sai Baba today as it did in the past. Actually, they are pitiful examples of persons suffering under cognitive delusions upheld by personal emotional and social needs for a guru figure and the imagined ‘meaning to life’ that his doctrine propagates – even though he is thoroughly compromised in many ways and by his own words. Such weakness of character is not at all uncommon, of course, but it is no less indefensible for that.

Letter Of Resignation

EDITORIAL, Jan 22 (VNN) — Comment

Dear Editor,

I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your compassionate and thoughtful editorial entitled “An Open Letter To The Followers Of Sathya Sai Baba” by Frank Morales. I resigned my position as president of a ten state region in the United States in late May (see attached resignation letter) after learning about the allegations and verifying them to my satisfaction. I have been working with an international group of ex-devotees, many of them the actual victims of Sathya Sai Baba’s sexual molestation, for the last six months to expose this “horrific scandal”, as you so aptly term it.

The saddest and most difficult aspect of all of this is the damage done to Sathya Sai Baba’s devotees and to their faith. Many families, my own included, are torn assunder as some members retain their faith in Sathya Sai Baba in the face of all evidence to the contrary. Those who take a stand against him are shunned, losing a community they held dear for decades in many cases.

Not only is the focus of your spiritual life gone, but your friends and family and community are gone as well. Thank you so much for reaching out and offering support to us in this very dark hour. That is true dharma.

Sincerely and God Bless,
Shirley Pike
former president of the North Central Region of the Sathya Sai Baba
Organization of the United States of America

Letter of Resignation

May 28, 2000 Dear brothers, sisters, and officers of the North Central Region and the Central Council, It is with great pain and sadness that I am writing to you today. One week ago, I resigned as president of the North Central Region, giving verbal notification to the National Coordinator, William Harvey, Ph.D. Serving the North Central Region’s centers, study groups, and individual devotees has been one of the most joyful and fulfilling experiences of my life. Never have I had the privilege of knowing so many wonderful, loving, giving, and spiritually dedicated people. I thank all of you for your gracious and kind support of me as we worked together for our spiritual growth and development. The reason for my resignation will probably dismay and shock many of you. A few weeks ago I received information from a fellow long-time devotee of an e-mail she had received concerning acts of pedophilia by Sathya Sai Baba. I had the e-mail forwarded to me and I personally investigated the information contained in that e-mail. I spoke personally to various individuals who had first hand experience with inappropriate behavior by Sai Baba. These individuals are respectable, credible, intelligent and have no axes to grind of any sort. I came away from these conversations believing these individuals and have therefore resigned and am sending you this letter. I am in the midst of a personal grieving process, involving all the typical stages of grief, including shock, denial, bargaining, profound sadness, despair, and acceptance. I am grieving because I believe that Sathya Sai Baba is a charlatan, who has used the power gained by the love and reverence of his followers and the truth of ancient Vedic Doctrines and Scriptures to sexually molest boys and young men from about the ages of eight to thirty. It is these allegations of unspeakable, abhorrent sexual molestation that force me to write this letter to you. I have personally investigated these allegations and spoken with several people who have either had direct personal sexual experiences or who know someone very well, i.e. an immediate family member, who has been abused.

Two of these individuals are former regional officers, who have resigned their posts and whom I have known for many years. I trust them, know them to have exemplary character and believe they would not lie. Further, they have nothing to gain and everything to lose by coming forward with their experiences. These experiences include numerous accounts of Sai Baba rubbing male genitals with oil, mutual masturbation, mutual oral sexual gratification, and even anal intercourse by Sai Baba. As a child psychologist who is familiar with the emotional devastation that sexual abuse causes its victims and the classic patterns of abuse, I found these accounts and the individuals’ reactions, to my horror, highly credible.

As a school psychologist, I am a mandatory reporter. This means that under Iowa law I am required to report any allegation or well founded suspicion to the authorities. If Sai Baba were a mere trickster fleecing people for their money, I would prefer to go quietly into the night, preserve my friendships with devotees, and not disrupt the faith of others. But, as an officer who has promoted Sathya Sai Baba as an avatar, I have both a moral and a legal obligation to warn all of the members and officers in this region and the national leaders that any male between approximately the ages of eight and thirty is potentially at risk for sexual molestation should they go to India to see Sathya Sai Baba and have a private interview.

I do not expect anyone to take what I am saying at face value. If you wish to investigate on your own as I have done, then feel free to contact me and I will provide you with the information to reach those who have had direct experiences and
you can make your own determination. Please begin by looking at “The Findings” by David Bailey on this website: You can telephone me at (319) 373-2434 or email me at, but only if you are sincerely interested in additional information. I do not wish to engage in arguments or debate. My heart goes out to one and all and my love for you remains steadfast. I will miss your good company more than you can know. May God bless you and keep you, and give you peace.

Vishal Arora Indian journalist exposes Sathya Sai Baba

Posted by robertpriddy on September 20, 2010

‘The Caravan’ Magazine on Sathya Sai Baba by independent investigative journalist Vishal Arora states:-

Sathya Sai Baba bedroom murders summarized by Vishal Arora, independent Indian journalist

As Arora found out, there is a most powerful and widely extended cadre of Sathya Sai Baba worshippers in power in India, most of whom having been outspoken as worshipping devotees for many years. Prestige, favours, money and, above all, the fear or ridicule for having been so thoroughly taken in by a widely accused pedophile and accomplice to murder of his own devotees is a powerful factor in their continued fear (and blocking) of investigations of any kind into Sathya Sai Baba. Vishal Arora writes:-
There is no lack of powerful, high-profile people cutting across political parties and spheres, professing their faith in Sai Baba.
Justice PN Bhagwati, the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of India in 1985 and 1986, calls him “divinity incarnate” in Baba is God in Human Form: Experiences of Divinity of Bhagwan Sri Sathya Sai Baba. In the same book, Shivraj Vishwanath Patil, currently Governor of Punjab and former Union Home Minister, says, “He is the knowledge; He is the wisdom personified.” Shankarrao Bhavrao Chavan, former Chief Minister of Maharashtra for two terms and former Union Home and Finance Minister, says he has “no hesitation in saying, whatever position and status I have is purely because of Bhagwan’s blessings.”
And further:-
Famous Indian laywer Kamini Jaiswal spoke to Vishal Arora about the blank refusal of the Supreme Court Petition against Sathya Sai Baba.

Sai Baba amrita (nectar) at Srirangapatna orphanage

Posted by robertpriddy on September 4, 2010

When first I met Halagappa he told me his life story in 1985, I was the only visitor and he spent hours talking. At the time I was willing to trust devotees’ honesty, but I soon learned much greater circumspection. Halagappa’s uncle took him to Shirdi Sai Baba, who hit him on the head, he claimed. He said he complained to his uncle who told him he was a fool, that it was a blessing which would cure him. He said his uncle asked Shirdi Sai to look after his nephew in future, and Shirdi Sai agreed. This was also claimed in the Shirdi Sai literature about quite another person. Much later I worked out the dates. Shirdi Sai died in 1918, but when Halagappa told me this in 1985, he was about my age (then 50) and could not possibly have been 70 or more years old as he would have had to be had he ever med Shirdi Sai Baba. So he exposed himself to me as a liar. He did tell me how Sathya Sai Baba exposed him as the baggage thief he was and made him go to Mysore to start doing service looking after homeless children. He began to solicit donations for the temple based on reputed ‘materializations’ from a locked Sai Baba had once given him. He even added sugar to vibuti (dried cow dung called ‘holy ash’ in India) to make it more acceptable. He threw out his first wife and took a young women instead, and so Sathya Sai Baba never visited him or spoke to him again.

Before I went to the Srirangapatna place (still known appropriately as ‘The Thief’s Temple’) I had tasted amrit (so-called ‘nectar’ associated with the gods or Devas) The Danish youth who gave it to me and directed me to Halagappa said its unusual taste was ‘tea rose’, something I forgot until after I was disaffected and suddenly kept smelling amrit, until I realised it was from tea rose soap I had washed my hands with. Tea rose essence is extremely strong – has long been made in India – and a few drops will give a liter of sugar water a very heady perfume. A drop or jasmine or sandalwood essence might sometimes be used as well.

Halagappa was already receiving large donations, later including mine too, but the young orphans there were in rags and had no books or other visible goods. His young wife, however, wore diamonds and gold. Local neighbours informed a Western journalist I know well that Halagappa was prostituting the boys and girls there. He had agreements with taxi chauffeurs in Bangalore who brought many Sai Baba visitors and those of unlimited blind faith who are always seeking excitement and miracles to his ‘temple’.

However, few take seriously Sai Baba’s well-known warning:  “in Mysore state there are some who distribute amrith, vibhuuthi and other articles announcing that they are showering from their pictures at their places… Devotees should keep far away from such places and persons” (Sathya Sai Speaks vol. 10, p. 186). His journal has twice warned about the Mysore orphanage and money collection. Halagappa is still a thief, only on a far grander scale.

Sathya Sai Baba said further: “In Mysore State there are some who distribute amrith, vibuthi (holy ash) … they do this free for some weeks, and later, they start begging for money, like any common mendicant! This is a sin…” [Sathya Sai Speaks Vol 11. p. 146]. The office at Prashanthi told me Halagappa has never been authorised by them or Sai Baba to collect funds!

Sathya Sai Speaks Vol 10 – p 186f refers to the orphanage near Mysore:: “Some happenings in Mysore and Madras are to be drastically condemned… I never allot in this manner, nor do I hand over my powers to anyone…” and “They could carry a begging bowl and go from door to door; that at least will save them from a life of deceit and sacrilege.” This describes Halagappa well.

Sathya Sai Baba's warning against Halagappa, Srirangapatnam orphanageIn Sai Baba’s official journal, Sanathana Sarathi, Feb. 1988, p. 51 we read:-

“THE WARNING , AGAIN  We have received enquiries from overseas devotees as to whether they can make donations to organisations in India carrying Sri Sathya Sai Baba’s name and claiming to run an orphanage at Srirangapatman (in Karnataka)… etc. Recognised Sathya Sai Organizations are not permitted to solicit donations from any source. (etc.) THE EDITOR

Gullible devotees pretend to know that the amrit and vibuthi there are miraculous. They have no proof because Halagappa could easily get an objective evaluation by scientists, but it is NOT in his interests! It is based on belief, auto-suggestion and strong longing to see miracles, their having completely lost any investigative spirit and become incapable of truly critical questioning where Sai Baba and all related phenomena are concerned.

Senior Ex-CID officer J.V. Ram on Sai sex scandals – part 1

Posted by robertpriddy on August 6, 2010

V.J. Ram (aka Janakiram) was a senior Indian CID officer who was awarded the President’s Police Medal, having solved many difficult criminal cases. His book ‘The Godmen of India’ is extremely revealing of certain Indian gurus, especially as regards the long history of formally unsolved criminal incidents connected to Sathya Sai Baba and his coterie.

Here is the fifth of a series of excerpts from his book:-Sex scandals

Avoidance of vital issues, like sex, AIDS by ‘Universal teacher’

Posted by robertpriddy on July 19, 2010

The taboo subject of ‘sex’
While promoting himself as the ‘Universal teacher; Sathya Sai Baba avoids the issue of human sexuality almost totally.  This is very revealing as no sensible advice is given by him on one of mankind’s most basic needs and drives – other than in a few words to preach chastity, also praising this as best within marriage. He has never discoursed on human sexuality. Nor does he answer any central questions which bear on sexuality. There is nothing whatever ‘spiritual’ about avoiding the issues connected with sexuality. The sexual impulse is the source of so many personal, social and other problems in the world, and is one which a liberated person should be able to address in an enlightening way, especially if that person were actually ‘omniscient’, which Sathya Sai Baba has repeatedly claimed he is in discourses and in countless statements in interviews.  Instead he occasional nearly broaches the issue by preaching monastic and sex-repressive ideals of a fundamentalist religious kind. This is more Catholic than any recent
Pope (misguided and obscurantist indoctrinators as they are), reminding more of an extreme hypocritical Victorianism.  All this is a parody  of spiritual guidance to mankind by this ‘Divine Know-all!

Satya Sai Baba’s secrecy and his attitude that strongly suggests guilt and shame feelings about sexuality means that questions about sex and important matters like birth control, condoms, AIDS, homosexuality and lesbianism and other sex-related issues are evidently far too sensitive for this widely accused homosexual abuser of young men and boys! By contrast, a far more enlightened educative approach towards unavoidable and irrepressible human sexuality has changed the world and is increasingly adopted is by a growing majority in most modern countries. The Sufi mystic and famous poet Rumi, to whom Sai Baba has referred as a spiritual saint, regarded sexual desires in youth as ‘letting one’s feathers grow out’, without which dangerous problems can be caused later. (The Essential Rumi, p. 64).

That Sai Baba cannot touch on sex discussion strongly suggests that his real views would awaken astonishment and would cause many to fall away from his movement and might also draw more attention to his own very widely testified sexual proclivities and preferences. He lists lust as one of the seven or cardinal sins, without explaining what kind of lust even, though he always claims to have no bodily desires.

Sathya Sai Baba talks about sexual desires to young men in secrecy the privacy of his inner ‘private’ interview room, admonishing them for contact with girls and masturbation . This is reportedly the introduction to oiling of their lower stomachs and genitals, and subsequently – according to numerous testimonies – to outright sexual advances and practices. Many factual and convincing accounts by a wide variety of young men indicate clearly that Sathya Sai Baba has tried to change them into homosexuals for his own gratification! It has also emerged that Sai Baba jokes with very close confidantes like Col. Joga Rao about sex, who was given to telling constant barrack room dirty stories, which I learned from V.K. Narasimhan who complained how he had to put up with them when forced to share a room with Joga Rao!

In India 2.3 million persons are known currently to be living with HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) which causes AIDS by damaging the immune system cells until the immune system can no longer fight off other infections that it would usually be able to prevent. It takes an average of 10 years to develop AIDS from HIV infection.  The shame attacked to this (and all sexual illnesses and to sexual deviance in Indian culture) means that the  hidden figure of AIDS and HIV sufferers may be considerably higher. The authorities in power, many of whom worship Sai Baba, long argued that it would be offensive to speak to people about sex and AIDS, condoms etc., but experience by independent organisations show this to be wrong. Many leaders still hold puritan and repressive views on sex, sex information and education and as a class the also remain out of touch with the population – their sufferings and needs – from whom the live as far as possible in physical and social isolation.

Sathya Sai Baba exposed by German person

Posted by robertpriddy on July 1, 2010

The dispute over the divinity of Sathya Sai Baba

No master of the Indian kind has aroused so much hope and expectation in such large crowds of people as has Sai Baba. With his “miracles” – materializations staged before thousands of supporters,- he binds in the psyche of the believing masses. The religious experiences can be impressive when so much captured spiritual energy and healing force from around him may be going on. Sai Baba is an authority for tens of thousands.

Probably, but no other master has disappointed so abysmally those who came to him, as seen in the report compiled by Faye and David Bailey – “The Findings”. The Bailey couple glorified Sai Baba in their earlier books. They later suffered traumatic experiences, and after many conversations with people who did so too, they collected reports and observations of the disillusioned. Their reports document harrowing experiences of the many victims who had thought they had “found God” – after a life of unquestioning devotion to that they were cheated.

The love of Sai Baba was rejected by most dissidents due to observation that Sai Baba’s “miracles” are pretty unprofessional tricks. From a distance, the trick difficult or impossible be to see  – as I experienced too.  The throng of the faithful wonder at every so-called materialization and acknowledge all the ashes created from nothing with applause. Many who get close to him  that he seem to see him to create ash from nothing (from his right hand). However, he clearly carries the ash in pill form in his left hand from which the. The ashes “materialise”.

What weighs heavier for devout disciples than these tricks are reports of the meeting with Sai Baba by some young male followers, who have told their own personal experiences. A tragic attack by former pupils of Sathya Sai Baba’s college in 1993 led to criticism by political observers who discussed Sai Baba’s ritual of ‘anointing’  of young men, relating it to homosexual inclinations. More recently, reports of sexual abuse by Western and Indian students of Sai Baba provided a broad documentation of the degradation and disappointment.  Western observers’ critical question is, why was Sathya Sai Baba not convicted by Indian courts.

While the management at Sai Baba so far managed to go a long way towards silencing some of the disaffected, the abused have  since begun to organize. Despite their heavy accusations tens of thousands still believe in the divinity of their Master, of his super-human and divine qualities and his miracles which they compare with the miracles of Jesus. Christians reject this comparison. The miracles of Jesus do not remind of the kind of circus where Sai Baba performs miracles almost to entertain the masses while Jesus would have done so for the relief of distressing hardships. All these objections contest the claim of Sai Baba to be the authoritative divine incarnation of our time. But they do not diminish the feeling of success  in Puttaparthi:  Sai Baba is still rallying an army of idealistic-minded and self-sacrificing people who really want only one thing: an encounter with God. But, given the present evidence, how long – we ask ourselves –  will it take to break down their hopes and expectations under the weight of the accusations?

Sathya Sai Baba dared not sue ‘Sunday People’ newspaper

Posted by robertpriddy on June 17, 2010

Since the exposure of Sathya Sai Baba took off in 2000, all British newspapers – as well as the BBC – have taken a united stand against Sathya Sai Baba, not least because of the common knowledge that he and his minions tried hard to ensnare Prince Charles, despite the god-guru having denounced them in a private interview (see here).

Had Sathya Sai Baba been innocent of the many allegations against him, it would have been easy for him or his organization to sue the forthright report in the UK newspaper, Sunday People, on grounds of libel, which is a simpler process in UK than in most other Western democracies. Of course, no litigation of any kind has ever been initiated against any of the world-wide reports of his activities, though threats have been made now and again (which proved empty). Seeing the enormous funds he rules over, the public can only draw the conclusion that he and his followers know well that he would lose any such court case. There are numerous sworn testimonies on sexual abuse in safe keeping in the event of any such attempt to attack his critics, who have kept the revelations about him and his countless deceptions alive on the Internet for the past decade. Sathya Sai Baba is protected by the Indian Government and judiciary against any lawsuit in India, since – an amazing fact in itself – the past several Presidents and Prime Ministers of India have been his feet-worshipping devotees!
Here is the Sunday People article:-

UK newspaper Sunday People on Sathya Sai Baba
Paedophile Guru in bid to snare Charles Sunday People U.K. – March 12, 2001

MI6 are probing bizarre sect’s link with the Royals

A PERVERT guru who believes he can sexually abuse young boys because he is GOD has tried to lure Prince Charles into his sinister religious sect. He has enlisted some of the Prince’s closest associates in his move – and the future King has admitted he has considered meeting the swami. Yet we can reveal the FBI and police forces round the world and even a senior UN organisation are already investigating millionaire mystic Sai Baba over scores of alleged sex and other crimes. Now MI6 are probing his bizarre movement’s links with Buckingham Palace.

For, the Sunday People can reveal, he planned to increase his worldwide influence by converting Charles into one of his millions of followers. The tiny pot-bellied holy man – who wears orange frocks and sports a 70s-style Afro hairdo – enlisted the help of one of the prince’s most-trusted advisors. He hoped that architect Professor Keith Critchlow would be able to persuade Charles to visit his temple, or “ashram”, in southern India.

Amazingly, we have obtained a copy of a letter which Charles wrote to another of Baba’s high-powered disciples within royal circles. In it, he says: “Keith (Critchlow) has often told me about Sai Baba and the effect he has had on many people and it is wonderful to know of the difference he has made to your life. “Perhaps I will be able to meet him one day when the time is right.”

The letter is signed: “Yours most sincerely, Charles.”

At the time, the prince was unaware that Sai Baba was being investigated for sex crimes. Nor did he know that there were also allegations of fraud and widespread financial corruption. UNESCO has also withdrawn support for a conference they were going to co-organise with Sai Baba. And the Foreign Office is now warning British travellers to India to be wary of the group. A senior legal figure linked to Sai Baba’s victims discovered the guru’s plan to target the prince and alerted M16. Sai Baba, the son of a humble peasant farmer, has a massive worldwide following, including at least 40,000 supporters in the UK.

Millions of families with children flock to his luxurious temple, near Bangalore in southern India, to pay homage. But to gain respectability for his movement, Sai Baba has deliberately set out to target showbiz stars, leading politicians, and royals as VIP supporters. Among them is 70-year-old Animal Hospital presenter and children’s favourite Rolf Harris. He claimed the guru’s teachings had transformed his life and played his famous didgeridoo on a fund-raising CD of mystic chants. Another disciple is British blues singer Dana Gillespie. But Sai Baba’s biggest dream was to ensnare a member of the British Royal Family.

Concert pianist David Bailey, who got involved with the movement during the early 90s, told how he and Prof Critchlow held several meetings in India with the guru. And one time Critchlow asked him: “Isn’t it time for me to bring Prince Charles out to see you?”

Bailey said: “The organisation loved to get celebrities in the fold. They were invited to Baba’s birthday parties.   “At the time I was completely besotted and like other devotees thought I’d win brownie points by recruiting influential people.”

Bailey even tried to “hook” Prince Andrew and Fergie before their marriage broke up. He said: “I had been asked to organise an evening of music at their home and, to put it bluntly, planned to start brainwashing them. “But the evening was cancelled at the last minute.” Fergie did later pay Sai Baba a private visit in 1997 on the recommendation of a stress counsellor following her marriage break-up. The guru likes to amaze followers by passing off cheap conjuring tricks as “miracles” and producing watches and jewellery out of thin air. And he astonished Fergie by making the bangle appear apparently from nowhere.

Bailey finally turned his back on the sect after learning the disgusting truth about Sai Baba’s sexual perversions. He has spent the last two years exposing the bogus holy man, who likes to rub oil into boys’ genitals claiming it helps release their sexual tension. Bailey, who once worked as a music teacher at the Indian temple, explained: “To my horror, I found out he was a homosexual paedophile.” Now every attempt is being made to ensure Sai Baba is kept away from Charles and other royals.

Sathya Sai Baba Sex Abuse and Cover-up – the facts

Posted by robertpriddy on April 2, 2010

Hundreds of former followers of Sathya Sai Baba – from India and abroad – have related their negative experiences with him  and have protested at his immunity from prosecution. There is much official and documented evidence on the www. Sai Baba is protected from prosecution by India’s politicians and judges who had for years invested their prestige in supporting him before the sex and murder facts became widely known. (They have many other interests in him – like votes, money). For example, it is illegal by Indian law to proclaim one is God Incarnate, but Sai Baba does this constantly without prosecution.

He makes many provably false claims and ‘prophesies’ and countless errors in his published words. He preaches the literal truth of fantastic events in scriptures like Bhagavatha, Ramayana etc. His claims of total purity and non-violence, total adherence to truth, are belied by his close involvement in the suppression of all investigation of the murders of his devotees in his own bedroom apartment. Some of his fraudulent materializations and other miracles claimed for him have been thoroughly exposed, both by witnesses and in revealing video clips. The Sathya Sai Organization is an authoritarian cult using every means they dare to cover up his actions and their members’ involvement in denying them. He and they preach only about all the good he has supposedly done, ignoring those who tell how he has ruined their families and even their lives. Many young men have testified to being sexually abused by him, sometimes in particularly vile ways.

Barry Pittard on sex abuses – Scouts, Nithyananda, Sathya Sai Baba, Pope

Posted by robertpriddy on April 1, 2010

In the current very promising awakening of the public and the media to more and more religious sexual abuse, Barry Pittard draws parallels and comparisons between some of the major cases in the public eye at present. That this phenomenon is not merely found in religious institutions is obvious, but the overwhelming attempt at cover-up seem to be endemic to all religions, sects and cults.

Investigations of sex cover-ups not ‘smear campaigns’

Posted by robertpriddy on March 27, 2010

Pope Benedict & Sathya Sai Baba

Cover-up artists - not me, not me!

The popular accusation against almost all who investigate sex abuses by religionists and their cover-up is that this is just a “smear campaign”. The international press is accused by the Vatican of running a smear campaign against the Pope… even though one horrific story after another and another of lives ruined for many decades are now emerging all over the media.

For years and across the Internet in a massive attack on all who have been calling the investigations by a large number of dissidents who claimed and/or recognised that Sathya Sai Baba has been involved in lifelong sexual abuse of boys and young men, Gerald Joe Moreno and others have claimed it is a “smear campaign”.

In all cases, the evidence is there and the cover-up is easily seen through by those who are not already fully indoctrinated and have committed their prestige and lives to the deceivers in each case.

Swami Nityananda is seen on a video caressing an Indian actres on a bed etc.s accused of sexual

Swami Nityananda, trying to cover up the sex video evidence, contradicting himself time and again

Though a minor case compared to the Pope and Sathya Sai Baba, Swami Nityananda was caught on a video showing him caressing ladies on a bed and being massaged by them (while no sex abuse involved). His followers immediately called the video a “smear campaign”, and Nityananda used the same term! Amusingly he first claimed it was a ‘morphed’ video, then, when the actress admitted she was with him, he tried to worm his way out by saying it was an ‘experiment’! His ‘sin’ is that he claims to be a celibate and pure Paramahamsa!

A brief look at these parallel cases shows the pattern:-

1) Pope Benedict XVI
It is claimed that the Pope did not know about the sex abuses – that such cases did not reach that far. Even so, when he did learn of a case, he refused to strip the pedophile of his office and this meant he could carry on as before. Who will believe that the Pope was never informed of any of these events:-

The Netherlands: More than 200 Catholics have until now reported sex assaults.
Germany: Over 250 sex assault cases are under investigation.
Austria: A series of accusations of sex abuse have surfaced recently.
Ireland: Two reports in 2009 document sexual and physical abuse on a huge scale in Catholic institutions.
USA: An independent commission in 2004 received 10,667 accusations of abuses by Catholic priests from 1950 to 2002.
UK: A monk who ran a Catholic school was given 8 years prison for decades of child sexual abuse. Two other monks were convicted for sex assaults in 2007.
Australia: In 2008, there were 107 convictions in sex abuse cases connected to the Catholic Church.
New Zealand: There has been a series of accusations of sex abuses in Catholic schools.
Canada: In 1989 a newspaper exposed sex abuse in a Catholic children home in Newfoundland, after which 300 previous children homes have reported sex abuses!
Argentina: Brasil: Peru: the Philippines and Senegal have all reported similar cases.

Now the scandal has spread beyond the English-speaking world – and not just into Germany, Switzerland and the Netherlands, but into Mexico and Italy, traditional strongholds of Catholic devotion. The faithful are outraged, and still the Pope does not seem to see the whole picture. (Source The Times).

On CNN, ex-Catholic priest Patrick Wall, author of “Sex, Priests and Secret Codes” – who left the Church after having been assigned to smooth over troubles after a series of sex abusive monks, tells how the instruction to victims was: “For the good name of the church you must remain silent”. This caused lives full of depression and worse. Read this excellent article in the New York Times

While Pope Benedict is not accused of more than an abuse of trust himself travels the globe, Sathya Sai Baba dares not leave India any longer since he is accused of so many sexual abuses in so many countries that he is unsafe abroad – there are affidavits waiting in the wings in case he does travel.

2) Sathya Sai Baba
With the protection of the Indian Government, which has never remotely investigated the massive world-wide allegations of sex abuse of young men and boys by Sathya Sai Baba. The Sathya Sai Organization rejects all approaches from abused young men, their parents and their defenders. Just like the Catholic Church, with the exception that related suicides have been recorded (eg. by The Times and diverse other respectable sources) and murders took place in Sathya Sai Baba’s bedroom, which were covered up by himself, his followers and the CBI investigation was quashed by Government with the Home and Prime Ministers of India involved at the time, and the same has continued since then. The extent of sexual abuses at Sathya Sai Colleges by teachers and others – who it is claimed were themselves abused previously by Sai Baba – is unknown, but various private reports received indicate it is very extensive. The level of deception and cover-up on many suicides, disappearances, murders and other abuses of persons and their faith is literally vast, as can be found on the web!

One chief similarity between the Catholic Church and Sai Baba is that both have State support for their cover-ups.. the Pope is head of Vatican State and Sai baba has the Indian government at his feet and in his pocket.

BBC radio 4 interview transcript – Sai sex abuse

Posted by robertpriddy on January 31, 2010

To those who are still Sathya Sai Baba devotees in denial of the facts I put the question: why would so many young men speak out in the way exemplified below in the BBC Radio 4 interview transcript by one such testifier, Jed Geyerhahn of Massachusetts? The explanation Sathya Sai organization gives officially is that they are “disgruntled”, for because they did not get what they came for, or failed to get enough attention from God Incarnate. That is an absurdity… they are disgusted rather than disgruntled. They got what the did not want, sexual molestation, according to their detailed and credible accounts. That so many young men had the courage and public duty to stand forth fearlessly is a testimony to them. So it is high time for followers and defenders of Sai Baba to show a minimum of honesty in evaluating the testimonies and other still mounting evidence. Vir Sanghvi of the Hindustan Times had the courage to face down the powerful, Government-protected Sathya Sai Baba, pointing out that the evidence is overwhelming. Over 20 young men have spoken out in signed testimonies about being sexually abused by Sathya Sai Baba, and many more have contacted those of us they can trust privately with their information so as to let us be in no doubt whatever of the truth.

Sai Baba, holy guru whose wisdom is profound. Or a sexual predator?

Transcript from BBC Radio 4 – Sunday 19th November 2000 – 7:30am

This is Sunday on BBC Radio 4; the time is now just after 7.33 am …

“He then abused my stepson, so I then knew that these stories I’d been told by the students were true. The students turned to me, and said ‘Please sir, will you go back to England and help us?’

(Five minutes of other stories…)

We’ll return now to a story we reported on two weeks ago about serious allegations of sexual abuse made against Sai Baba, the popular leader of a religious organisation in India, who claims to have up to 50 million followers around the world. A campaign waged on the Internet by disillusioned former devotees is seeking to warn families of the dangers they face when visiting the Sai Baba Organisation. The allegations are hotly disputed.

Stephen Perry investigates, in this week’s special report:

Sai Baba is one of the most revered gurus in India and has a following that is estimated to be between 10 and 50 million. Most of the devotees are from India, but many travel from the United Kingdom, United States and the rest of the world, in the hope of being granted an interview with the man who claims he is the reincarnation of a revered saint, Shirdi Sai Baba who died in 1918.

He is himself now worshipped as a god, an Avatar. </span

“I know that Baba is my saviour. I know that Baba is within me. I know that Baba will direct me. I know that Baba will protect me. I love you father. I need you Father Sai Baba.”

“I believed that he was the Avatar, and I believed also specifically that he’d called me to be close to him and to be a follower of his, so I felt that there were divine forces at work in bringing me to him, and in giving me a new direction in my life.”

Jed Geyerhan from Massachusetts in the United States was close to his 16th birthday when he first met Sai Baba a few years ago. Jed had travelled with his aunt to the ashram in Puttaparthi in the southern state of Andhra Pradesh.

In 1997 Mick Brown, the Daily Telegraph journalist, joined the 10,000 or so who regularly gathered at the small town that been formed to accommodate devotees at the Sai Baba Centre. He was there to conduct research for his book ‘The Spiritual Tourist.’ He became aware of the wide embrace of the leaders’ influence.

“Sai Baba is without question, the most important and the most significant religious figure in India. He’s also a very significant political figure in India, and his followers have included previous Prime Ministers and the present Prime Minister. Among the board of trustees of his ashram are senior politicians, former politicians, members of the judiciary, senior members of the armed forces… so on and so forth. So he is a very estimable figure in Indian public life, and a very powerful figure actually in the Hindu nationalist movement in India.”

David Bailey, a concert pianist from North Wales…

(David’s music plays behind David as he speaks for a few seconds).

“When I got to India to see him, there was a fantastic moment in my life, because I believed that I was in the presence of a very great being. He was claiming to be God on earth… At that moment when I saw him… There was a huge welling up of an energy… I can only say, of love. It was a moment that made me think – am I here on earth at the same time as another figure like Jesus? “

David Bailey found favour with Sai Baba and was asked to play at music festivals in India and around the world on his behalf. He says he was granted over a hundred private interviews with the guru. Most devotees are lucky to have one such opportunity. But he claims when young students started coming up to him with tales of how they had been sexually abused, he became troubled.

“He then abused my stepson, so I then knew that the stories I’d been told were true. The students turned to me, and said “Please sir, will you go back to England and help us?”

This he did, and set up a website on the Internet, and he began to publish testimonies by those who alleged they’d been molested by Sai Baba.

What has emerged is a pattern of behaviour by the guru, leading on to sexual abuse of devotees. On his first visit to the ashram, Jed Geyerhan had several interviews with Sai Baba in the company of his aunt. At the third, he was invited into a private room, alone.

“He actually grabbed my groin direct through my clothes and in that interview he asked me to take my pants down and he materialised this grey ash called vibhuti and rubbed the vibhuti on the side of my groin.”

Two years later he went back and was granted a further interview.

“But looking for some sort of explanation as to what these sexual experiences were. He asked me what I wanted and I said “I want your love” and he took it completely wrong and sort of just peculiarly advanced his body towards me and said “you know I’m all yours, take me.” ah .. you know “take me” but not .. ah .. sort of in any sort of spiritual way but looking at me in a flirtatious way.”

With Jed it went no further than that, but another American family who wish to remain anonymous, claimed Sai Baba had oral sex with their son and attempted to rape him. The boy’s father was at the time an important official within the organisation in the United States. He himself, at the age of 18 had had similar experiences to those of Jed Geyerhan.

“What happened many years later to my son, proved to me that really what had happened to me was just the initial part of what Sai Baba does, and that it seems that that’s the way he starts out with boys.

When we began questioning our son we found out that in fact Baba had been forcing him to engage in more intimate sexual behaviour than we had ever known about and when our son would refuse, Baba would get angry, and he would say “oh, you don’t like me and so I’m never talking to you and your family again.” and her son would say “oh please Baba don’t – I .. I do love you, but not like that.”

We contacted the Sai Baba Organisation in India but a senior official there made it clear they were not willing to talk to the BBC.

Ashok Bagwani, a trustee of the UK organisation vigorously denies there is any substance to the allegations, and so has the anointing of the genitals of young men by Sai Baba was out of the question.

“It is not acceptable in any form of language and this sort of behaviour does not agree with spirituality. You know, Sai Baba is a spiritual leader and I can tell you categorically this sort of thing doesn’t happen there. These are disgruntled people. They may have been previously Sai Baba devotees, but they are disgruntled, with an axe to grind and I welcome anyone to contact me if they’ve got a serious allegation, and errr … We will talk to them.”

Steen Piculell, the Sai Baba organisation co-ordinator in the Russian speaking countries, speaking from Copenhagen in a personal capacity, says the allegations are sheer madness. But he does believe the stroking of the male genitals can be acceptable in India.

“Gurus have always, as part of their job, put some oil on the er .. upper.. er … Part of their … Right hand and g .. … and gone down in the chakra be .. be .. behind the testicles to er .. er .. . adjust the .. chakra there. This is a normal thing. And this I suppose Baba has also done because this is part of his job. That’s all.”

and Steen Piculell dismisses those who are organising the campaign against Baba as representing no more than a divine test, sent by God.

“Of course, they’re playing the role of Judas or the ‘doubtful Thomas.’ I mean that they are picked to play this role, from a .. a .. d…divine play. The time of Jesus, with the doubt for Thomas, with the Judas, is repeating itself now, in this time. And they’re doing a perfect… job, and Baba knows only the best ones to pick out for that ..

To date, no one making the allegations against Sai Baba has attempted to prosecute him. Mick Brown thinks the guru is in some measure invulnerable in his own country.

“I think there is a degree to which Sai Baba is a law unto himself, if you like. I think it’s probably very hard for anyone to make these allegations in India, because he is a figure of… held in such high esteem.”

With legal action unlikely, Jed Geyerhan and the many others who made the allegations of indecent assault and abuse of trust, are limiting themselves to warning others against following a path.

“My motive at this point is just sort of continue down that road trying to get as many people to know about it as possible, and realise that there’s something terribly wrong here.”

Jed Geyerhahn ending that report by Stephen Perry. BBC radio 4

Jed Geyerhahn also stated on the Danish documentary film ‘Seduced’ -viewable here (also title ‘Seduced by Sai Baba’):-

(JED GEYERHAHN) In 1989 when I was 15 years old I went to India for three weeks. And on that trip I had four interviews. And in the third interview he actually asked me to untie my pants. And he forcibly pulled my pants down and with his bare hand grabbed my groin and rubbed some oil on the side of my scrotum. And I went again on the following year, and on that trip when I was 16 years old, Sai Baba called me again for a private interview. At that point I was even actually more uncomfortable because it seemed like this had already taken place, there is no reason why it needed to take place again. But he asked me to take my pants down. I did and he went on and produced an oily substance and rubbed it on the side of my scrotum.

226 00:36:34:10 00:36:38:15 According to Jed Geyerhahn, he is far from being the only one.

(JED GEYERHAHN) I have talked with students at Sai Baba’s school and they have had sexual relationships with Sai Baba. And it’s really common knowledge that several students stay with Sai Baba all night on an ongoing basis. And of course nobody talks about what takes place with these students with Sai Baba, but from the students I’ve talked to (it’s) clear that there are sexual relationships taking place. And in fact one student I talked to directly was a person that was staying with Sai Baba. And from the conversation it was clear that it was very difficult for him to come forward with this information, because he’d be rejected by his family and by his culture and by his people, unlike American students who have the support of their culture and society and family. They come forward and talk about the fact that they have been mistreated by Sai Baba.

Sathya Sai Baba spoke against homosexuality!

Posted by robertpriddy on January 27, 2010

Dr. John Hislop reported a previously unmentioned fact in a letter to directors of the US Sathya Sai Council of January 18, 1981. He reported that, when he asked Sathya Sai Baba about the accusations from a mother of homosexual abuse of her son, Baba “told me in an interview (which you have seen) that a homosexual is denied Membership in a Center, that this person should be questioned closely and be admitted only if the person desires to change their life away from that of a homosexual, and that people were homosexuals because of weakness of mind.”

This is a restriction never before mentioned in the Charter of the Sathya Sai organization, nor in and directive received by me when I was in regular receipt of all such circulars as national leader of the organization in Norway.  That Sai Baba instructed its top leader in the West to ban homosexuals from the Organisation, and even from its centres is typical of religious hypocrites, who are under great pressure worldwide not to discriminate against those of such sexual preferences. It shows yet again that Sai Baba’s favourite slogan ‘Love all, serve all’ is very much a snare, a sham and a delusion.

The former UK Sathya Sai Organization top leader, Mr. Lucas Ralli, organized what was billed an an “inter-faith” conference (actually a Sai Baba promotional meeting) in a Bayswater hall the West End of London, which I attended. Incidentally, Ralli was dismissed peremptorily from his role as Central Coordinator {for privately stating  his own opinions on organizational matters) by then International Chairman, the widely-disliked Indulal Shah. However, Mrs. Phyllis Krystal was present, already a VIP in the Sai movement. Questions from the floor were allowed at one point, and a young man asked her what Sathya Sai Baba had to say about homosexuals. Mrs. Krystal replied that she was unable to quote anything he had actually said on the matter, but she was able to receive inner directions from him, and she had just strongly sensed that he accepted homosexuals just as he would anyone else. Once again, that just shows how self-deluded these Sai Baba promoters really are. Mrs. Phylis Krystal is in serious denial and has diverse problems of ‘economizing with the truth‘.

One must wonder why this was so closely guarded for so long, why it was never prescribed in the Organisation’s directives. And which ‘secret divine teaching’ will surface next? Will Sathya Sai Baba’s genital oiling of boys and young men – already reported by scores of persons and admitted by numerous of his officials and followers – be justified by some ‘spiritual expert’, even though it reportedly often leads on to sexual acts with Sai Baba, including oral and yet less clean sex (according to Dr. Naresh Bhatia who spoke to the Daily Telegraph about his sexual relations with Sathya Sai Baba)?
