Sathya Sai Baba’s rumour mill a mainstay of the cult

Posted by robertpriddy on June 1, 2011

Rumours are a mainstay of Sai Baba’s fame Remarkably, however, his ashrams and movement are certainly far more subject to rumours and unconfirmable stories… and Sathya Sai Baba is in fact the chief rumour monger himself

Sathya_Sai_Baba Rumours, failed predictions and false promises Distant healing, rumoured predictions by Sai Baba of world catastrophe circulated and reported widely, not quashed by SB (attracts many fearful devotees to his supposedly invulnerable ashrams)

Deceptions, rumours and lies by Sathya Sai Baba He is known actively to spread rumours enhancing his ‘mystery’

Use of rumours to gain Sai Baba followers The rumour mill is a key instrument … Sai Baba and his inner coterie Rumour and delusion spread by Sai Baba

Disaster stories told by Sai Baba to impress visitors
Many of the unconfirmable and uncontrollable rumours are an important part of his attraction, not least to those who fear disasters and move to his ashrams

World catastrophe predictions from Sai Baba Up until the late ’80s, a set of predictions of a coming world catastrophy were circulated most openly among followers, allegedly told to 18 students by SB at his former college in Ootacamund

Catastrophe predictions reported – Shivarathri discourse in 1991 where Sai Baba massively berated the ‘rumour-mongers’ by almost never takes any steps to refute the rumours himself.

Sathya Sai Baba prophesies and rumors on Islam – on the Imam Mahdi Prophecy as described by an Iranian devotee ‘Irani Ma’. The “Mehdi Moud” Prophecy Revisited (BrianSteel)

Idi Amin [The Last King of Scotland] and Sathya Sai Baba – That Sai Baba influenced Idi Amin to delay expulsion of Indian residents Uganda is a cherished myth

Sai as Soothsayer predicts world peace – Sai Baba has long predicted complete world peace and a Golden Age, (and has given the final date as 2006 see here)

Sai Baba bogus story of holy ancient cave and yogis in the Himalayas – Unconfirmable stories are spread in the shape of rumours to suggest that … Patal Bhuvaneshwar cave rumours came later

Failed Prediction of earth axis shift by Sri Satya Sai Baba – Sai Baba came to realise that he had gone too far with his rumour mill and caused the withdrawal of a report in ‘Spiritual Impressions’

Typical Sai apologist – Rita Bruce Sai-VIP a rumour monger – Claimed her dreams of disaster were precognitive – but also reported years ago on their lecture trips to foreign countries that SB has told of an era of love and light to come very soon.

Dr. Naresh Bhatia and Sai Baba – Rumours were set going in Puttaparti to discredit Dr. Naresh Bhatia as a seducer, after he had accused Sathya Sai Baba of violent anal sex with an underage boy

Eternal Heritage Museum accident – three US devotees died – Typical rumours have been put about by officials on the ‘disaster in which three US devotees died

Prince Charles, Princess Diana and Sathya Sai Baba visit – Rumours were spread that Prince Charles had secretly visited Sai Baba in the late 1980s – but SB denied any visit in an interview

Sathya Sai and claim of ‘virgin’ birth – The rumour on how Sai Baba was born without physical conception: his own account is at ods with that of his mother, Easwaramma

The infamous rumour-spreading Christmas Discourse by SSB in 2000 He has long preached how negative rumours are like boomerangs, but then he sets going the absurdly false rumour that those who accused him did so for money, like Judases – but without a shred of evidence!

Email Correspondence with ARORA, VISHAL

Posted by robertpriddy on September 23, 2010

As part of his researches, Vishal Arora contacted both Sathya Sai Baba proponents and dissidents. As his article shows with all clarity, he was unable to penetrate the wall of silence and propaganda that surrounds all Sathya Sai Baba and all his officials and ashram people. Gerald Moreno went straight into an offensive to try to pressure Arora into acting as his mouthpiece, which failed dismally, of course. As is his wont, Moreno speculated over why I was not on-line for two weeks in the month or so prior to Arora’s article’s, implying that I was in India meeting him. Far from it, I was travelling in the Western hemisphere only.

In fact, Moreno is extremely frustrated by the fact that no serious journalist or researcher will take any notice of what he writes, not as soon as they read his diatribes and falsifications. He was rejected by journalists in USA and one in Norway (at Aftenposten, who contacted me after an e-mail exchange with him which gave her the right picture well enough. She thought he was childish! Moreno wrote back to her that he was “very disappointed”!). He was up in arms over Tulasi Srinivas, who mentioned –  sometimes inaccurately and with much censorship of our evidence – the researches of Brian Steel, Barry Pittard and myself… but gave Moreno’s conspiracies the cold shoulder altogether. He has also been given the cold shoulder by my friend and colleague, Erlendur Haraldsson (in psychological and para-psychological matters), who simply mailed back to the mischievous Moreno how we are old friends. Everything I wrote about Haraldsson on my web pages is true (my wife can attest to the content of many conversations about Sai Baba’s egomania etc. he and I had). Of course, I have the proof of my various claims about his opinions in Haraldsson’s own e-mails to me, of which I have at least 50.

Thus, Vishal Arora was no doubt drawn more and more into a sceptical attitude regarding Sathya Sai Baba by Moreno’s phoney friendly advances, though he did not communicate much with the sceptics. He e-mailed me on the advice of the dissident Serguei Badaev, former Sathya Sai Organization President in Moscow, quoting him as follows:-
“We are continually being persecuted by various Sai Baba supporters, not least by Murali Krishna Yachendra… related to a most prominent Sai Baba follower in India. I have, for example, received a public death threat not so long ago too.” To this I replied:-

Dear Mr. Vishal Arora,
Thank you for contacting me!
I was the national leader of the Sathya Sai Centre in Oslo and contact person for the national Organization for most of 18 years in Norway until 2000.
As to the death threat I received, it was sent as a comment to my wordpress blog and can be viewed below the blog at https://robertpriddy.wordpress.com/2008/11/24/2164/
After receiving that threat, I reported it to the Oslo Police. Due to lack of resources and the fact that the threat was made from the USA, the police decided they could not pursue the matter. WordPress provide the IP and e-mail address given. This was as follows:-

sathya88 –   mohan88hg@gmail.com –  137.131.206.70   –  2008/11/26 at 1:08 am
Robert Priddy,
You are son of a Bastard for sure I can tell you that. Sai Baba is god and his devotees love to see him on the golden chariot. If even swamy doesnot want golden things we want him to see majestically. If you come in front of me I will kill you man mohan

I tracked down the geo location to the USA. It is in San Diego, California. I replied to the e-mail with the warning that it was reported to the police. If you search Google for the e0-mail in question you now find several entries, including the phone number of mohan (he runs San Diego boats and his phone no. is 858 587 4829 !! I have not contacted him. (Since I did not know this, perhaps I should report him to his local police… I have not considered that before.)
See http://www.google.com/search?q=%22mohan88hg%40gmail.com%22&hl=en&lr=&filter=0
He also has a profile at the following web address: http://www.spoke.com/profiles/mohan88hg@gmail.com
If you consider it o.k. to contact him, please inform me what result you may get.
In case you do not know of my long involvement etc. with Sathya Sai Baba and why I eventually joined the the exposure of him, please visit my main website at http://www.saibaba-x.org.uk/ There I have documented a massive amount of material concerning him, which I guarantee is completely truthful and true as far as my knowledge reaches.

Murali Krishna Yachendra (former teacher at Sathya Sai College and an insider at Prashanthi Nilayam) is the grandson of the Raja of Venkatagiri and his case is an interesting one. The entire matter is documented in a book published by Skeptic Book Club (Basava Premanand) entitled “Sabotage by Murali Krishna Yachendra” in which the countless e-mail exchanges between him and expose activists is printed. An extremely revealing attempt to confound activists…but it was foiled. Premanand lodged a complaint to the police (see attached scan) and the District Collector – without result!! See a resume of the matter and document scans etc. at
http://www.saibabaexpose.com/Yachendra/Murali_Krishna_Yachendra.htm

Scan of mail sent by Basava Premanand to Nellore Police reporting death threat from Mohan88

As to the question of persecution by Sai Baba activists, there is a catalogue of such things. Firstly the victims of sex abuse and their families have been persecuted through their social networks, employment etc.(according to many highly confidential e-mails I have received – I cannot release this information since numerous murders in India have been recorded – many by B. Premanand, but – of course – the execution in cold blood of four devotees in June 1993. The subsequent CBI investigation was hindered then finally quashed from top governmental level just before the result was pending! This can be verified on-line from numerous reports – not least in the BBC Interview with V.P.B. Nair – Former Home Secretary of Andhra Pradesh State at http://www.exbaba.com/comments_on/_the_secret_swami/nair.htm

Then there is a massive internet campaign, much of it by Sai admirer Gerald Joe Moreno of Las Cruces, New Mexico, but also by numerous others… including hundreds of bulletin board libels, lies and personal attacks etc. on over a hundred persons who have spoken out about the sex abuses and similar instances of criminal events connected to Sathya Sai Baba and/or his institutions.

Please feel free to pose any questions you may have… and you are free to print anything which I have stated here, also anything on my main website or my main blog at robertpriddy.wordpress.com.

Thanking you for your interest,
Sincerely
Robert Priddy

Arora’s replied to me only briefly. He did not use any of my materials as such, though his opinions are very much in line with my own, it turned out. He asked how he might contact the Rahms, Lisa Tice and Hari Sampath, on which I informed him.
The result I later saw was as follows:-

Vishal Arora reports on the Rahm family, Hari Sampath etc.

As to alleged “Screen-cap fraud”: Gerald Moreno accuses others who are innocent of fraud – who have never changed a single word of what has been recorded from the internet, of that which he is guilty himself! He has nothing whatever substantive to charge me with, so he descends to hair-splitting matters about difference in colour and contrast, arrangement of information etc. as being ‘fraudulent’. His one aim is to have as many accusations on-line as possible, which seem at first glance to surfers to be something. On closer inspection he is seen to be a fanatical obsessive hate promoter. Further, he has frequently left out very significant words in his ‘quotations’ of Basava Premanand and in some of his otherwise also heavily-biased and selective presentations of what I have written.

Gerald Moreno’s distortion of facts in his ego-driven war

Posted by robertpriddy on September 15, 2010

Scan of top parts of a Google search result showing more of frenetic Gerald Moreno's attack pages on Robert Priddy

Google search result

Gerald Moreno, the fraudulent ‘researcher’ who invents things and attributes them to others shows once again that his vituperative hatefulness dominates his psyche again when he concocts a story that Swami Ambikananda ‘lambasted’ Robert Priddy. He never did any such thing!  Swami Ambikananda was mostly a kindly if very difficult person, even though he dominated his followers who became like mice before a lion.  When I realised the absurdity of it all, I wrote him a letter in which I asked him a number of questions. He was unable to answer them and, because I questioned some of the statements he had made [and which events confirmed were evidently untruths] I broke off relations with him. He replied with a literally drivelling letter to me, and I never visited him again (I only met him about 5 times across about 8 years, though I was regularly in touch with many of his circle for many years). The fact is, he could simply not take it that anyone dared even question him as the ‘guru’. Much the same happened in the case of the one he named as president of his ashram, who left him after many years. Ambikananda was a very intuitive person with all the mental trappings of an Indian guru, but he was very authoritarian    He evidently felt hurt that I drove across his wild and unlikely claims and advice like a tank. I heard later from a friend that he had said of me that I am a ‘skeptic tank’.  He should have known better – as a Ramakrishna devotee – to speak unkindly of people behind their backs! Yes, Moreno!

Gerald Moreno takes two words, changes them into “septic skeptic tank”, and blows his invention up into a full story about a “lambasting” by Swami Ambikananda. That is merely Moreno’s own septic interpretation of me. In his pernicious attempts to undermine my reputation and character, Moreno’s ever-malicious and ‘septic’ wording alone shows the vindictiveness and from Google image searchobsession.

All but a very few who read Moreno’s views on Priddy will recognise how pathetic are his constant contrived allegations and false productions. The more he continues, the more trivial he becomes, and – due to his many web pages and blogs – the more prominent the controversy about Sathya Sai Baba becomes. He has no public support, not even from organization members (and they are well-advised in this if not in much else).

Moreno began his extensive libeling, and his many deceptions, contrivances and provable direct lies for some years before I – and some of the many others he has attacked likewise – began to respond with more than an occasional brief  comment. I have since found it necessary instead to make specific rebuttals of his hate pages against me, so see The full story of Moreno here

Apropos the reliability of Ambikananda as a soothsayer, one who knew him has written of a book about him: “And it faithfully records his extraordinary blend of Mauritian patois, inspired revelations, obscure ramblings and determinedly syncretic vision where Jesus appears at the front door and the Divine Mother Kali manifests through his body. Miracles and wonders abound, and a sense of bemusement that he was as little known as he was, given that other teachers with far bigger Egos strode the stage at the time.” (One thinks of Sathya Sai Baba, who Swewami Ambikananda visited one and sat at darshan in Brindavan).

That gives some idea of the kind of person Moreno evidently believes in and respects as percipient and wise… a fanatically religious ‘swami’ whose “obscure ramblings” were indeed sheer gabbledegook and whose often extremely incredulous beliefs were punctured by others. For example, he told of one person for saying the name ‘Yama’ because he thereby destroyed an entire world each time. The response was an endless stream of ‘Yama, Yama, Yama’! Ambikananda reportedly ran off in a frenzy and was found sleeping out next morning.

As to his being a swami of the Ramakrishna order, he was not above marrying (a French lady) having a daughter, and abandoning them soon afterward. Not exactly sanathana dharma!

Sathya Sai Baba Drinking Water Project

Posted by robertpriddy on September 3, 2010

Basava Premanand exposed the controlling influence of Sathya Sai Baba and his minions in many State affairs – also putting Sai Baba beyond the law of the land:-

“Let us discuss about the Sri Sathya Sai Drinking Water Project which was inaugurated by Ex-Prime Minister P.V. Narasimha Rao and Indian President S.D. Sharma, Newspapers vied with each other to tom-tom the benevolence and greatness of Satya Sai Baba.” (see short video clip of the inauguration)

“TIMES OF INDIA Dated 3.12.95 came with the following news under the heading “Basu Waves Tax for Sai Trust.” The left government has granted sales tax exemption to the tune of Rs.60 lakhs to an organisation run by Satya Sai Baba. The government decision was communicated to the Sales Tax Commissioner on November 11 by a joint secretary in the department of finance for issuing the official notification.” ‘ Informed sources revealed that Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust’s unsigned petition for exemption of central sales tax leviable on purchases made in West Bengal for a drinking water supply project in Andhra Pradesh was placed before Chief Minister Jyoti Basu in October by Padma Khastigir, leader of the Congress opposition in Calcutta Municipal Corporation and a Former Judge of Calcutta High Court. The official added that the Trust has been granted sales tax exemption by 3 other state governments. The Trust’s petition to Mn Basu stated that it was unable to bear the financial burden of paying sales tax and pleaded for exemption on humanitarian grounds. An official in the CM’s secretariat said that the concession “although unprecedented in the states has been made in the peopIe’s interest…”

“With all the fan fare in news papers, television and radio all over the world the people believed the magnanimity of Satya Sai Baba. As the Prime Minister and the President had inaugurated and the water gushed out from a silver tap to a silver vessel and the audience saw the water gushing out they all believed that the parched throats of the people of Anantapur District have been quenched by giving them pure water. -No one enquired as to what really happened. Immediately the water flowed through the pipes, the pipes burst at the starting points of the water supply, and the parched earth with the dried blood of the six watchmen of Sai Baba, got satisfied after quenching its thirst. When the president knew of the real fact after his inauguration, he fell sick, President Shankar Dayal Sharma was slightly indisposed on Wednesday night, according to member of the presidential entourage reported UNI. Dr. Sharma, who was here for the 70°‘ birthday celebrations of Sri Satya Sai Baba, has suffered from a bout of pain following ‘inflammation of his knee’ and could not attend a scheduled function here”

“Though billions of cm water was wasted and big pools were formed near the pipe lines no newspaper, or the TV or the Radio had the courage to publish about the fraud. In April only one newspaper in Telugu “Vaartha” published a series of articles for 9 days on the Sri Sathya Sai Drinking Water Supply Project where Sai Baba’s pipe did not deliver water to the parched people of Anantapur. lmmediately after getting the information l rushed to Anantapur and on 21” April and 23” April made a video him. According to Times of lndia dt.3.12.1995 the judge Padma Khastagir as a self-confessed Sai`Baba acolyte for 25 years, frequently visiting the godman’s ashram. Her four-storey house in Southend Park is named Sai Sudha after the controversial godman. Such a judge to lile an unsigned petition for sales tax exemption and the Chief Minister to exempt the trust from paying sales tax is gross negligence and proves that Sai Baba is above Indian Laws. This act of the judge is a shame to the chair she had occupied as a judge so also the Chief Minister of West Bengal ordering exemption on the basis that Sathya Sai Trust was unable to bear the financial burden of paying sales tax and pleaded exemption on “humanitarian grounds” while it was the richest trust in the world. As law is said to be same for every one, I am wondering if the state and central government would exempt the people who are below the poverty line from all taxes?”  [1995]

[from the book  ‘Failed Sabotage by SSB through Gerald Moreno’  publ. by Basava Premanand  – p. 230]

OTHER SOURCES ON THE RAYALASEEMA WATER PROJECT
Ramana Baba, also known as Muz Murray, reported to me:- Investigators however, maintain that these claims have another side to them. It was found that the authorities had previously refused permission for a water pipe solely for the private use of the ashram, unless other villages on the way were also supplied, as many in the region were without water. Permission to lay 2000 km of pipeline to the ashram was only granted after accepting this proviso. But even though some of the villages of the Rayalaseema region through which the pipeline runs are now getting good water, others say that half the pipelines are blocked or badly fitted and they are still not getting a supply.

SATHYA SAI BABA AND THE WATER PROJECTS – FULLER FACTS COVERED-UP
The water projects in Rayalaseema, Andhra Pradesh, Medak and Mahabubnagar, and the canal repair for Chennai financed from donations made by followers of Sathya Sai Baba (and subsidised by government) were named after Sathya Sai Baba. They are no doubt admirable for those who suffer water shortages and now receive more than before. Much was achieved, while much went wrong, and no one connected with Sathya Sai Baba is allowed to mention anything negative about these projects, which are widely promoted as ‘Divine Miracles’. This article is therefore simply to help correct some of this totally one-sided propaganda. I repeat, this is not to denigrate the good intentions of those who donated (including myself!) nor whatever positive results have been achieved. Rather, it is simply to counterbalance the mendacious aspects of Sathya Sai baba projects and what most of the Indian media have become afraid to publish concerning anything critical of what government-protected Sathya Sai Baba says or does and so contributes to many public misconceptions.

Dictator Idi Amin – Sai Baba’s warm recollections

Posted by robertpriddy on August 26, 2010

In a discourse he held on Christmas Day (25/12/2006) Sathya Sai Baba recounted his visit to East Africa – including Uganda – in 1968. During this he spoke most affirmatively about the brutal despot and Dictator Idi Amin (and this on Christmas Day of all days of the year!). Idi Amin was a self-admitted murderer who had at least five wives and 23 children (plus hundreds of ‘lady friends’), who fed enemies to crocodiles, reportedly kept some of his victims in his deep freezer, and – according to persistent reports of his staff who escaped – even tasted human flesh!
Sai Baba’s praises of Amin were eagerly promoted on the worldwide broadcasts of propagandistic Radio Sai and on the Sai Baba official website by his main propagandist, Dr. G. Venkataraman (also former contributor to India’s nuclear bomb ‘himsa technology’), who thus also evidently accepts that Idi Amin was a Sai-devotee of some stature! His lack of judgement matches that of his ailing Lord God, the evidently failing Sai Baba. That was too much even from a myth-deluded and truth-challenged ‘scientist’ who avoids all important criticisms to his cover-up and has never dared tell anything he knows of Sai Baba’s well-known private doings and the many reliable allegations about them. Perhaps he admires Idi Amin for his lead in such censorship and cover-up? Here is what he wrote about Sai Baba’s fond reminiscences in his 2006 Xmas Day discourse:-

Excerpt from official Sathya Sai propaganda pages on the web
COMMENT: Note how the besotted writer (no doubt Dr. G. Venkataraman, who decides on all publicity matters anyhow) of the above claims that not only people but the animals (wild) of Africa are “devoted to Swami”. Sathya Sai Baba has encouraged this codswallop in line with his original claim to be the creator of the Universe. “They raised their trunks in veneration and paid obeisance to Swami” we are told. But how did the writer know what the elephants were thinking? Well, the animals would have to worship their creator, wouldn’t they? It is laughable in the extreme.

The enthusiasm about the “moment of moments” when Sai Baba “related how Mr. Idi Amin was very fond of him” – and how Sai Baba gave him double daily doses of darsan!” Amin’s devotion “melted the heart of Swami” (I ask you – or was it mutual flattery?) – yes, this most horrific of ghastly rapists, torturers, killers, the sweet-hearted Idi Amin had to be given the blessing of another day’s stay from Swami! Sai gave apples to the crocodiles which were too”captivated by the divine darsan” even to eat the apples. Probably crocs to not like or eat apples – but now, Amin knew their tastes better than that. He gave them human flesh!
Sai Baba propounded that there is no feeling of hatred in these animal (which is reasonable as they are predators naturally) but – and this is another ‘moment of moments’ in Sathya Sai Baba’s down-putting of his fellow-men and -women, therefore “The noble qualities in these animals are not even to be found in human being”! All this is sheer comedy, but it has a very sinister message if you stop to think about it

Swami’s Christmas Discourse 2006

“Some years ago, when I went on a tour to East Africa, several Africans came to Me for darshan. Each one of them prayed, “Swami! Please spend some time with us”. There were a few hundred children among them. All of them had their vision glued to My form. You know the then President of Uganda, Mr. Idi Amin. He was a military officer. He was young and very energetic then. He was tall and hefty. He had a number of wives. He was very fond of Swami. He used to have the darshan of Swami both in the morning and evening. I was very short before that giant. The sight of Me beside him was like the view of a deer by the side of a camel. People were surprised at his love and devotion towards Swami. He was well educated and was the President of his country, Uganda. He was known for his stern nature. Such a person shed tears when I started on My return journey. He told Me, “Swami! I have never shed tears since my birth. Today, I am very sad and have a feeling of separation because Swami is leaving us.” He covered his face with a handkerchief so that others may not notice his feelings. His hands were very strong. He held My hands firmly, expressing thanks for My visit. He also prostrated before Me. He held My feet so tightly that it became difficult for Me later to climb the ladder for boarding the aeroplane. At the time of My departure, he pleaded with Me “Swami, I will surely come to have Your darshan shortly. Otherwise, You please visit our country again. I cannot bear the separation from You.”
The situation in Uganda then was such that he could not leave the country. During My stay in Uganda, he planned to host a dinner for Me in his house. He therefore came to the house of Dr. Patel to personally enquire about the arrangements to be made in this regard. He collected all information as to how to organise the dinner, what should be the menu, who are to be invited as guests, etc. He arranged for brand new utensils for cooking various dishes. He also arranged for new tumblers for the guests. Finally, when I visited his palace for the dinner, all his wives stood in rows on either side and greeted Me with veneration. He introduced them to Me, one by one. I stayed in Kampala, the capital of Uganda. The last day was Guru Purnima, an important occasion for Sai devotees. I had earlier promised to return to Bombay by that date. But, the Africans did not allow Me. They fell at My feet and prayed: “Bhagawan! Please spend this holy day with us”, with tears in their eyes. In answer to their prayers I stayed back to spend Guru Purnima with them.”

“On that day, they wished to take photos with Me. I told them that they might silently pray in their hearts so that their request would be fulfilled. To their joy, each one of them found a photo with Swami standing beside them. The devotion of Africans is indescribable. Even now, I feel very happy when I think of their devotion. My next visit was to the country of Tanzania. There also, everyone who came to have My darshan felt very happy. Ladies and gents came in large numbers to welcome Me, wearing their traditional dresses. They danced in ecstasy on seeing Me. On the day of departure, just before the plane took off, all of them stood in front of the aircraft and pleaded with Me, “Swami! You should not go from here. You must be here only.” How can I accede to their request? I had to leave. The pilots and other officers in the airport counselled them saying, “You should not obstruct Swami’s aircraft like this. This is not good.” They then moved away. I was observing all this from the window of the aircraft. Finally, when the plane started to take off, many of them nearly fainted in grief. That scene was fresh in My memory till I reached Bombay.”

“During that trip, I visited three countries – Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania. They are all neighbouring countries. I was very happy and felt deeply touched at the devotion of African people. During My return journey, the aircraft was filled to the brim with the articles gifted by the African devotees. What are those gifts any way? They brought all sorts of articles like dinner sets and tea sets in gold colour. They are still with Me. We are making use of them while hosting high dignitaries like Prime Ministers and Governors.”

Rumours about Sai Baba’s intervention to delay expulsion of Asians from Uganda rebutted.
Idi Amin acting on God\s orders… his guru Sai Baba?

Sathya Sai Baba, Dr. V. Venkataraman and Idi Amin apparently make good bedfellows, according to the arm appreciation of Amin by Sai Baba in a Christmas Day discourse, as reported eagerly by Venkataraman. This was indicated by a photographic image made of the happy threesome, which was not a fake, but a construction to bring home the relationship, as was made clear when it was posted. See this image and the controversy it cause at The last King of Scotland – God’s orders and Sai Baba The Spirit of Christmas

The ‘Abode of Peace’ ashram- the murder victims

Posted by robertpriddy on August 12, 2010

V.J. Ram (aka Janakiram) was a senior Indian CID officer who received the President’s Police Medal for having solved many difficult cases. His book on ‘The Godmen of India’ is extremely revealing, especially as regards the long history of criminal incidents connected to Sathya Sai Baba and his coterie. His sensational book is about several ‘godmen’ in India into whom he has investigated and found to be bogus and surrounded by criminal allegations with much circumstantial evidence to uphold them.

The ‘Divine mystery’ of Sathya Sai Baba

Posted by robertpriddy on July 22, 2010

Sai Baba maintainef his ‘mystery’ by avoiding giving straightforward answers

Sai Baba was a practiced master at seeming to answer a question or tell something while expressing it so ambiguously or obliquely that it amounted to saying as good as nothing. Every now and again he suddenly broke off mid-sentence and turned his attention to something else or another person. The disappointed person soon contrived an explanation, for this omniscient God had to be telling something deep and subtle through this behaviour. There is much talk about how to understand in a positive light things that it would be glaringly evident to independent persons are avoidance or manipulations by Sai Baba. I have to admit that I was taken in for a long time by some of his clever comments and half-spoken sentences…

I too spent much time searching to explain his words and acts. It was like searching for a needle in a haystack, and the results were seldom too convincing when I did find any. I even wrote articles in his journal Sanathana Sarathi at the behest of its editor (V.K. Narasimhan), all precisely to try to clear up some of his vague or contradictory statements. I now conclude that he mostly avoided really telling anything when he might have been trapped into an easily unproven answer, meanwhile leaving the devotee at least an illusion of having the attention of God Himself and a response the meaning of which would make itself known in good time. Those he talked to (very seldom more than one or two sentences) were told by yet blinder followers that they should be pleased, even grateful, for this divine blessing! Many were overwhelmed with gratitude for this audience which it was said by all devotees to be something one had striven towards through many previous lives packed with good actions! Many people want to believe such things and the more difficult their lives are, the more they apparently do. In the ashrams one believed in ‘thinking with the heart, not the head’. No one seems to realise that the heart (i.e. the emotions and irrational impulses) can deceive as much or even more than the head. The so-called ‘heart’ can be filled with feelings of inferiority, intense unfulfilled longing for love and further, bitterness and hate. Not exactly an infallible inner guru to rely on blindly in the face of common sense and informed reason, as most gurus like Sai Baba insist it is!

There is no doubt that the subjective experiences of interviews were felt as very good by most people (though not all, for some were told off strictly too). One can read hundreds of accounts that use superlatives beyond all reason. I can now see myself as misled and so ‘naively guilty’ of a much too one-sided and gold-tinted account of interviews in my book (‘Source of the Dream’). Therefore I choose to describe my summary of Sathya Sai Baba interviewees from the cool clarity of my eventual disillusion with them.

After attending several interviews they tended to become an anticlimax to persons who  still had a mind of their own, because so little could really be learned about anything from Sathya Sai Baba. He just reeled off his usual imprecise spiritual directions and followed – with few variations – a set of routines he had practised and perfected through thousands of interviews. Sometimes it was like a routine he entered, regardless of who was present. But this is certainly not how one’s first interviews seemed! Interviewees were often so worked up after months or years of his ‘Wait! Wait!’ instruction – and who can count what sacrifices and efforts many have made – and were mega-relieved to have ‘won’ an interview (as if they were pools’ winners). In interviews, many behaved as if in a daze, there was often a sense of staring, hypnotic happiness. Especially ladies, mostly having been constantly starved for the slightest attention at darshan, often gave themselves over to an orgy of gushing words about it afterwards, like ‘blissed out’, ‘spaced out by divine love’ and ‘eternal moments of realisation’. All of this reminds of some psycho-social orgasmic release of pent-up doubts and worries in surrendering to the delightful conviction, ‘So I am really one of God’s chosen children after all’. This conviction was always insecure, however, and Sathya Sai Baba would shake it time and again with his famous hypothetical ‘tests of faith’, i.e. his indifference, his neglect and much more besides until death… of that one could invariably be convinced and confident, at least!

From about 10 hours altogether in the various interview rooms with Sai Baba and from hearing and reading at least 100 accounts of interviews from other devotees (often noted in papers they circulate or in articles and books) and after countless hours of private discussion with Sai Baba’s translator at many interviews, V.K. Narasimhan, it is fair to say that Sai Baba seldom responded openly and frankly to what the questioner really wanted to know, but turned the question back at the questioner or spun the matter around somehow. If he didn’t reply (rather than, as often, turn to another person instead) what he said was frequently elliptical and off the point. He treated all questions or comments which he did not like in what my elderly contact, Prof. Erlendur Haraldsson, characterised to me very fittingly as follows:
“I recall when Karlis Osis and I had our first encounter with Sai Baba we both felt that he, apart from his great charisma, was a great prima donna, with a tremendous ego, and also kind of a Napoleon, with a ruler’s mind and tactics. Boasting, and illusions about one’s true characteristics is a part of such a psychological makeup, and in Sai Baba this is to a psychopathological degree unless one assumes the split-personality model to explain him, which I find tempting.”

What we would not accept as a valid or relevant answer from other people, many devotees would immediately accept as profound since it came from the one they believed to be omniscient. For example, when asked by a friend of mine from Copenhagen why it was that Jehova (i.e. God, i.e. Sai Baba) had not told the Jews about reincarnation, but asserted the contrary via the Bible. Sathya Sai Baba simply did not understand the question and asked to have it explained. (A divine joke that he can’t understand? I think not!). My Jewish friend said that the question was about reincarnation and intended to specify, but – without waiting to hear the actual question again – Baba replied brusquely, and in so many words, “Oh! Reincarnation! You cannot understand it. Do not try to think about it. It is like the seed and the fruit.” I saw that this answer was just a brush off, but afterward my friend claimed that it was a perfect answer! His view was that, because the question was one that his Jewish wife considered very important, Baba was telling that they should rather concentrate on other more important things. This is not untypical of Baba’s way of answering questions.

Sai Baba frequently replied so obliquely that no intelligible sense could be made of his words, or he changed the subject unexpectedly, or brushed it aside. The person concerned often took whatever came as a significant teaching or even a spiritual directive. This is also typical of evasive deceivers hoping to maintain others’ false perceptions, or to avoid being unmasked or incriminating themselves. In short, whatever Sai Baba replied, or however he avoided replying, was taken by devotees as a profoundly meaningful matter! If what he said seemed plainly mistaken, based on a misunderstanding or factually wrong, the devotee wouldl twist and turn the words in every possible way and relate them to all manner of events past present, dreams, imagined things and so on until some kind of sense could be derived from the words… however unsatisfactorily. This was also the case when he did not reply or was gruff, or gave the brush off. It became a subject of constant meditation or worry, self-examination and self-doubt. I  witnessed this on many occasions. What hardly ever seemed to occur to the poor person who was struggling with these challenges was that Sathya Sai Baba might be wrong, might not know what he was talking about, bluffing or may simply have been inadequately equipped to deal with the question. Only after realising that Sai Baba was not at all what he claimed to be does all this gradually become as apparent as the sun in daylight!

Sathya Sai Baba seen on the moon?

Posted by robertpriddy on July 9, 2010

Some deluded devotees who do not understand the first thing about the difference between and causes of objective and subjective experiences keep on sending out unsolicited e-mails about this non-event, which has discredited Sathya Sai Baba among all people with a modicum of real intelligence and properly established knowledge, as follows:-

the unsolicited e-mail – and the image accompanying it. Anyone can see that the image was superimposed using  a graphic programme,

The above message appears when one tries to access the source. This kind of absurdity was supported by several major Sathya Sai Baba sites like saibabaofindia.com and Puttaparthilive.com, which posted the following:-

October 26th 7:00 pm – Swami’s divine darshan in Moon

Many devotees from all over the world have written to us about Swami’s Divine darshan in Moon. We have received emails from devotees in many parts of India, United States and United Kingdom etc. We ourselves saw the Divine darshan of Swami in the moon for the last few nights. We were waiting for some pictures from devotees because our camera’s are not that powerful.

That the image was a construction and the report a fake report made by zealous promoters of Sai baba is supported by the fact that the original of this post was removed both from the Puttaparthi news site and the blog of which a capture is shown above (made before removal). Nor is the material available on the web wayback archive machine. In short, a big embarrassment to the Sai people which had to be eradicated as soon as possible. The basis for all this frenzied fantasy is the fact that the moon’s darker part bears some resemblance of Sai Baba’s afro frizz, but nothing more.

Interestingly, Sathya Sai Baba’s pet physicist and promoter – Dr. G. Venkataram – and would-be astronomical writer (a plagiarist) has remained completely silent on the most embarrassing issue! But then he has stated outright that he believes that Sathya Sai Baba is the Creator of the Universe, nothing less! What kind of a ‘scientist’ can be so deluded?

Several other devotees have made bogus images of SaI Baba appearing on the moon. Among these is that of Darpan Rane, who superimposed Sai Baba’s face on an image of the moon, which was posted by the blind believers who run saibabaofindia.com. Later Darpan Rane admitted that he had created the image… meaning it to represent what he (thought) he saw in fact earlier.

Concocted image which easily deceived countless followers of Sai Baba. Darpan Pane wrote: ..... THE APPEARANCE OF BHAGAWAN'S BUST IMAGE ON MOON LAST NIGHT'S SKY: SAI RAM EVERYBODY!"WHILE I AM HAPPY SHARE WITH YOU OF THE APPEARANCE OF BHAGWAN'S BUST IMAGE ON MOON LAST NIGHT'S SKY (VISAKHAPATNAM, INDIA),

‘Robert Priddy Not Exposed’ blog

Posted by robertpriddy on July 5, 2010

A blogsite defending  me against the massive harassment of Gerald Joe Moreno has been posted on the Internet – click here. It contains details information about Gerald Moreno’s malicious campaign against me on boards, groups, web pages and blogs, all because I am a critics of the guru he so admires and defends, Sathya Sai Baba. I hardly responded at all to four years of his almost daily attacks on me – all contrived and full of distortions and many proven lies about me and my internet activities. He has never met me but has since 2004 studied in the greatest detail everything he can find out about me, has twisted every bit he can somehow distort to ridiculous lengths and reported it in a way that is not only full of inaccuracies and misquotations. Above all he is enraged that I eventually pointed out the obvious fat from his own on-line account of his private interview with Sathya Sai Baba that he was ‘groomed’ for sex and physically interfered with.. a fact about which he is in massive and – to all appearances pathological – denial.

Here one can see how the front-line defense of the Sathya Sai Organization on the Internet is conducted – i.e. in a way that totally contradicts the entire attitude of any spiritual person or organization and disregarding with contumely all of the valid advice of Sathya Sai Baba about how to behave towards others. It shows the cultist nature of these attackers and the set-up they defend.  Gerald Moreno is a shrinking violet in that he makes hug efforts to remove a single image of him from the Internet. In short, he dare not show his face in good company in case he is recognised (See here and at https://robertpriddy.wordpress.com/2009/04/04/sathyasaibaba-in-the-shadows/)!

Moreno’s re-use of extreme libel by ‘Dr.’ Leo Rebello of Mumbai

Moreno claims that I was threatened with a million dollar lawsuit (by a half-crazed Indian called Rebello) despite Moreno knowing that this is NOT true! As I have informed on several occasions previously, I was never threatened, not even by mail – let alone from any lawyer. Moreno cannot prove his statement with any genuine documentation, and he knows his statement to be false! Proving I am right, Moreno even admitted to Kazlev (see below) that it was angeltowns.com who were threatened. Further, Rebello claims he wrote to a server and threatened them (i.e.not me, which he surely realised was impossible for him to succeed in). Rebello never even forwarded that threat to me, nor did the server at angeltowns.com contact me then. Thereafter, I contacted angeltowns but they would not confirm that they found me to have defamed anyone. Since it was a free (unpaid) website for which I had not paid anything, they chose to remove the material as they had no (financial) reason to defend me fro the threat of a lawsuit against them (even though Rebello could never have achieved anything in any court considering the materials he spammed many people with). I was then naive about those services and should have posted my materials on a dedicated, paid-for website. Moreno knew about these things and took advantage of the fact to try to libel me. However, I decided to let sleeping dogs lie so did not repost the materials then, which I easily can do in full – up-dated and extended exposing him (Rebello) fully, not least with his own words and many bogus claims. and with impunity any time if Rebello causes me the least trouble on-line again.

Gerald Moreno has further tried to defame me by posting a very selective excerpt of Rebello’s filth in a way which he thinks makes me look bad, which suffices to show the kind of person Moreno is backing and how he has an agenda of hate and character assassination! I will post just a brief sample of Rebello’s his 50-plus mails sent to all and sundry for those who have the stomach to view them. Interested can mail me for these items. If there should be any reaction against me on-line from Rebello himself, I shall re-post my entire up-dated web pages for all to see.

Likewise, no critic of Sathya Sai Baba has ever been sued, nor even threatened in any credible legal way (except once by an incompetent Indian posing as a lawyer whose bluff was called immediately by no reply), yet Moreno claims to know better, but he has no documentation of any such thing because none exists. He ignores the facts and post whatever he believes remaining Sai devotees will believe, knowing that in their blind faith they will most likely accept almost anything against critics as being true. Moreno will take any half-truth and turn it into a full lie, and then claim that it is the critics (whether former devotees or reputable media) who are engaged in falsification!

M. Alan Kazlev has defended me against Moreno – a person he originally befriended, but found to be a major liar and libeler. Kazlev wrote:-

“You claim “Robert Priddy is relating more scurrilous fabrications and gutter untruths against me under the guise of anonymity.” But where is the proof of these assertions? You wrote “Priddy’s dirty and filthy websites”. Your uses of such language are imho just more examples of slander (and more shadow projection) on your part.

To cite another example, you posted the slander of Dr. Leo Rebello against Priddy on your website. That is an implicit endorsement of Rebello’s statements and is I understand slanderous by law.

Your allegations about Priddy on porn sites are unverified, and hence defamatory and slanderous. How do we know that someone (I wonder who?) has used his website title in signing up for those sites?” (See here)

[Moreno]
“Regarding Leo Rebello:

Rebello’s slander is his own. Priddy’s defamatory website against Rebello was removed for its defamatory content by AngelTowns.com (are you unaware of this fact?).” (See STATEMENT here)

(Alan Kazlev) “I admit i haven’t followed all these details the way you do. However I did email Robert regarding this and other points of you reply, and he informed me that this is further vicious slander against him, whatever else you claim. There is no independent proof that the Priddy website about Rebello was removed because it was defamatory. If I recall, it contained screen-shots of disgusting documented slanders against Robert by Rebello in his e-mails, with Robert’s comments and analysis of his denials of the existence of AIDS and SARS and Rebello’s claims to greatness and fame. (NOTE Priddy now informs me that the claim that the website was defamatory is wholly unsubstantiated by the web server! No such reason for closure was given Click here for more information)”

NB! I retain a major dossier of fully documented web pages on Dr.Leo Rebello’s public efforts to defame Sai Baba dissidents in most disgusting ways, and I can document his many other statements showing his bogus claims and activities. Any bona fide persons who are interested in this matter can e-mail me or contact me on the comment page (their mails or comment entries will NOT be posted there and strict confidentiality will be observed).

Nityananda sex scandal compounded by his lies and deceits

Posted by robertpriddy on March 13, 2010

New Delhi: Self-styled godman Nityananda Swami, who was caught in sleazy video footage, on Saturday said the video was morphed and manipulated to misrepresent his personal life but did not deny his images with actress Ranjita in the film.

“There is a lot of misrepresentation, manipulation, conspiracy and morphing. We are working which part is recorded in a conspired way, which part is morphed, which part is misrepresented,” Swami told Times Now news channel.

The video is clearly a true representation, it can be seen as such – even though it was put together from several sequences. He is unable to tell which is morphed and which is not, but he knows what he did and when, surely? Is this not just a ploy to buy time until some bogus explanation can be found from somewhere? But for him not to challenge the video would mean a yet more complete loss of followers and his entire guru business. Let us examine what else he said:-

I have not done anything illegal: Nityananda He said the girl in the video was his devotee and she was taking care of him when he was ill. “She was serving me for a long time. She was volunteering and serving me and taking care of me when I was sick for a long time. There is no denying that she was, she is and she will remain a devotee,” he said.
He said he became sick last December, when the actress volunteered and served him. He was physically unwell and was “consciously in a deep samadhi”.
Swami, who has been slapped with cases of cheating after the video footage came to light on March eight, said the video will be sent to experts to find out the portions morphed in it.

There he pulled out his fat porkie: “in deep samadhi” due to the visible fact, perhaps, that he was concentrated watching TV! Yet he also begs that he was ill while in deep samadhi!

I believe I do not have any lust. 100 per cent I am sure that I do not have any need for other person,” Swami, who is currently in Haridwar, said.

He “believes” he does not have any lust! It amounts to 100% certainty! If he needs no one else, why does he need two servitors to take care of him? Why does a person who needs no one have to have female pandering and caresses from two ladies – both clearly seen “serving” him.. Nonetheless he tries to draw the wool over the eyes of any remaining believers in him. Anyone who cannot see through this transparent web of self-deceits, lies and absurdities is in need of guidance, but not from any guru!

Swami Nityananda’s deceits are relatively harmless compared to the really major frauds and abusers of faith, among whom Sathya Sai Baba stands as the most deceitful and unaccountable of all, but who is protected to the highest levels of government and judiciary. Too many people have too much to lose if he is brought to justice… See the huge catalogue of his deceits, the history of his abuses of faith and worse, and his many untruths and vast self-contradictions documented from his own words.

Sathya Sai Baba claims of bribery!

Posted by robertpriddy on February 11, 2010

Sai Baba lied outright about his accusers taking bribes to betray the guru!

“Some foreigners are trying to bribe them. They are saying, “See, foolish ones! I will give this much money. I will give so many dollars. I will give this many pounds. You write and give some stories against Sathya Sai Baba.” A lying smear – and without a shred of evidence – against the many young men who accuse him of sexual abusing them!

To denounce people in public with an angry face (and most unforgivingly on Christmas Day itself!), beating the lectern before him, he said almost in the next breath: There is no trace of anger or hatred in Me and hence everyone loves Me (Sanathana Sarathi September 2002, page 257f).

“… we should disregard abuse and hold to our righteous ideals firmly.” “Love even those who abuse you. I am a standing example of this.” (p. 267)

but he had taken notice just there!

Sathya Sai Baba contradicts his main tenet!

Sai Baba later refuted the main tenet of his own lifelong teaching: “All beings are sparks of the Eternal Divinity” [page 101, Discourses in Kodaikanal 1998] “… a hard-hearted person cannot be called a spark of Divinity; he is verily a demon.” [p. 323, Sanathana Sarathi, November 2002].

He clearly tried hard to limit the damage he had himself done to his movement (through his own actions) not least to try to stop the loss of foreign donations.

“In the single family of humankind, where is the room for jealousy or hatred? These are all imaginary.” Sai Baba teaches he is never wrong, doubt only yourself!
He teaches the absurd pseudo-philosophy of ‘whatever you imagine, is true for you’. This is a trick of mental enslavement and a get-out for himself. Above all, he wants to stop his followers facing the staring facts.

See the unexpurgated literally translated full version published by the (banned) premsai group of students
See the entire infamous Christmas Discourse as published in expurgated version in Sanathana Sarathi here.

As to bribery, Sathya Sai Baba was not in the least bit foreign to it himself. The person who made the original translations from Telugu, ‘Divya’, was present during and after the infamous 1993 murders in which Sai Baba was known to be deeply involved and was present when a massive cash bribes arrived in the apartment of his elder sister… followed by the same amount to many residents in the ashram. This is but one – but very well testified – instance of bribery on a large scale by Sai Baba. See full eyewitness account here

Why Former Devotees Feel Obliged to Expose Sai Baba

Posted by robertpriddy on February 5, 2010

Having for so long contributed to so many people becoming Sathya Sai Baba followers, I cannot escape the sense of duty I have to make known to them – and all comers – what I unavoidably learned about him – his deceptions and widely and firmly alleged crimes – despite all I had accepted and hoped to be true about him.

My promotion of Sai Baba was mainly through running a Sai centre for many years with my wife – and working hard to fulfil all its requirements [without appreciable help from the members or others for most of the 18 years]. It continued through my writings – a positive book (which he accepted) well over a score of articles in his journal or in other official Sai publications. Besides, I devoted 18 years of my life to trying to realise some of the ideals I came to believe that Sathya Sai Baba really stood for (yet no longer can). My nearly two decades in the organization was full of him and his teachings. During that time I practiced his various directions like selfless service and strictly following human values to the best of my abilities.  We visited him on nine occasions and come to know him (5 interviews – plus 5 private interviews total ca. 8-9 hours) and countless darsan contacts. I knew various persons very close to him, and not least because of that I happen to be unusually well placed to expose what I found out about him. In fact, Sathya Sai Baba is the one subject in my later life about which I am most informed, and it is natural that I should not just run away from the matter but instead expose all his countless deceits and alleged crimes. I have a  large catalogue of mails from persons who have been damaged by him, and from families that have been broken up due to his influence, sometimes from very prominent people in the West.

I might have preferred it had I not felt obliged to follow up my exposure of what I came to know about him. I am in no doubt that what I am doing is right in all senses of the word, for I know so many people whose lives have been seriously upset by him, his directives, broken promises, outright lies and taking advantage of them. I have suffered only mildly in comparison with many who write to me. As to those whose faith is challenged by my work in promoting all the testimonies against him etc., they have a choice… to seek the truth at whatever cost to their own feelings and dependency on him, or to continue in an illusion that he is what he claims to be. I am not responsible for any pain they may suffer from realisation of the facts, because I did not do the things I report on… it was Sathya Sai Baba who did wrong, not I. I have not deceived anyone, he most certainly has – and on a massive scale. Those officials who support him in the cover up of everything he does which he not wish should come to light are themselves also responsible for their part in it… As my activity up to now shows, I am fully determined not to allow Sathya Sai baba, his officials, his organization and the politicians and judges who protect him to get away with a total cover-up of all the many allegations of sexual abuse and murder involvement, or to hush up his megalomaniac claims and countless false and ignorant statements… whatever good he may have done or his followers have achieved. The truth shall out!

Footnote: Years of a major slur and libel campaign against me and other critics of SB by Gerald Joe Moreno have caused some of us at long last to respond in some detail to his endless bending of the truth, distorting facts about us and insultingly accusing us of many things which are entirely false.  Because there are so many deceived or deluded followers who know little or nothing other than the stories and propaganda, his many pages are read by some – a tiny proportion of the alleged millions of followers nonetheless. The transparency of his bogus arguments is such that the more who read them, the more seek out our responses, and we are confident that we stand for nothing but the facts and the truth, which will convince those who are not over-indoctrinated. Moreno’s smear and character assassination campaign against dissidents further ensures that the exposé continues with full force, also to expose his dirty tricks.

Barry Pittard, a former lecturer in Sathya Sai Baba’s education establishment and a devotee for 25 years, has recently written a series documenting his leave-taking of Sathya Sai Baba:

Not a ‘smear campaign’ against Sathya Sai Baba

Posted by robertpriddy on January 29, 2010

It is claimed by some current devotees or defenders of Sathya Sai Baba that I and Barry Pittard are running a huge “smear campaign” against them. This characterisation of our work is unjustified, because – were it genuinely a smear campaign – it could be contested by Sathya Sai Baba legally. That he has not done, which indicates that he knows full well – and his many advisors are also no doubt aware – that I have taken much care not to post a single statement which can be legally proved to be libel. The cover-up in India to the highest levels of all his alleged sexual abuses and murder involvement is indisputable, as I have also campaigned to make the world aware, not least here.

What I have done is primarily to reproduce available evidence – writings, testimonies, published materials from the world media – and commented on it in the light of statements made by himself and his various officials and defenders. I have promoted the writings of scores of disaffected followers who have published their experiences both on the Internet and sometimes elsewhere. Note that I am a member of the 32-strong JuST group, which includes many professionals who call for public investigation of Sai Baba and his organization. The JuST group have invited the Prashanthi Council – Sai Baba’s policy-making body – to respond to their concerns, but are met with total silence. This also shows that they are unaccountable to public opinion and have the nature of a closed and secretive cult.

I have also related my own experiences through 18 years as the top  office-bearer in his Organization in Norway and a frequent visitor to his ashrams. This I have done entirely truthfully – so they cannot be disproved by any honest means – and stated my opinions of him based on my personal knowledge of him and I have reported what has been told about him by some very close servitors. Much of this is documented in my very voluminous daily diaries from the time of my nine visits, of which I have scanned a selection, and which exist as evidence from a time when I was still a follower of Sathya Sai Baba and believed in the main what he said (if not everything, for there were his more incredible claims and incorrect statements).

There is, however a massive  smear campaign directed against me, Barry Pittard and every single critic of Sathya Sai Baba by the foremost Internet defender of Sathya Sai Baba, his organization and all persons positively connected with him. This is the work of the Las Cruces, New `Mexico resident, Gerald Moreno, of no known profession or qualifications other than a huge propensity for denial of facts, obsessive attempts to insult and assassinate the characters of all against whom he takes exception. That we have not held him legally accountable is primarily due to the waste of time, energy and money it would involve to give such attention to this nonentity, whose campaign is easily seen by anyone of independent mind or common sense to be a self-defeating exercise. For example, he defends the convicted rapist and murderer, Swami Premananda of Tiruvannamalai, and defended Sai Baba for some years while actually believing him to be a sexual abuser (he had his own sexual molestation incident with Sai Baba, about which he is in deep denial, admitting being confused and sexually inhibited afterward by his own explanation). Moreno’s efforts only serve to increase the controversy about Sathya Sai Baba and make sure we are active in exposing Sathya Sai Baba further so as not to be swamped out by positive propaganda and smears.

Sathya Sai Baba spoke against homosexuality!

Posted by robertpriddy on January 27, 2010

Dr. John Hislop reported a previously unmentioned fact in a letter to directors of the US Sathya Sai Council of January 18, 1981. He reported that, when he asked Sathya Sai Baba about the accusations from a mother of homosexual abuse of her son, Baba “told me in an interview (which you have seen) that a homosexual is denied Membership in a Center, that this person should be questioned closely and be admitted only if the person desires to change their life away from that of a homosexual, and that people were homosexuals because of weakness of mind.”

This is a restriction never before mentioned in the Charter of the Sathya Sai organization, nor in and directive received by me when I was in regular receipt of all such circulars as national leader of the organization in Norway.  That Sai Baba instructed its top leader in the West to ban homosexuals from the Organisation, and even from its centres is typical of religious hypocrites, who are under great pressure worldwide not to discriminate against those of such sexual preferences. It shows yet again that Sai Baba’s favourite slogan ‘Love all, serve all’ is very much a snare, a sham and a delusion.

The former UK Sathya Sai Organization top leader, Mr. Lucas Ralli, organized what was billed an an “inter-faith” conference (actually a Sai Baba promotional meeting) in a Bayswater hall the West End of London, which I attended. Incidentally, Ralli was dismissed peremptorily from his role as Central Coordinator {for privately stating  his own opinions on organizational matters) by then International Chairman, the widely-disliked Indulal Shah. However, Mrs. Phyllis Krystal was present, already a VIP in the Sai movement. Questions from the floor were allowed at one point, and a young man asked her what Sathya Sai Baba had to say about homosexuals. Mrs. Krystal replied that she was unable to quote anything he had actually said on the matter, but she was able to receive inner directions from him, and she had just strongly sensed that he accepted homosexuals just as he would anyone else. Once again, that just shows how self-deluded these Sai Baba promoters really are. Mrs. Phylis Krystal is in serious denial and has diverse problems of ‘economizing with the truth‘.

One must wonder why this was so closely guarded for so long, why it was never prescribed in the Organisation’s directives. And which ‘secret divine teaching’ will surface next? Will Sathya Sai Baba’s genital oiling of boys and young men – already reported by scores of persons and admitted by numerous of his officials and followers – be justified by some ‘spiritual expert’, even though it reportedly often leads on to sexual acts with Sai Baba, including oral and yet less clean sex (according to Dr. Naresh Bhatia who spoke to the Daily Telegraph about his sexual relations with Sathya Sai Baba)?

Sex scandal and Sathya Sai Baba – 3rd Hislop letter

Posted by robertpriddy on January 15, 2010

master and willing credulous servant, John Hislop, Phd

Dr John Hislop, who was for long head of Sathya Sai Baba’s organization in USA and (strangely) ‘the Americas’, wrote most revealing and embarrassing letters in 1980-81. These came into the hands of Timothy Conway Ph.D., from his immediate predecessor the former president of the San Francisco Sathya Sai Centre. This is the third in the series of letters by Hislop dealing with the allegations by Mrs. Payne (see her letter here). The first Hislop reaction is here and the second here.
TRANSCRIPT OF HISLOP’S LETTER TO MRS. PAYNE & TERRY – WITH COMMENTS BESIDE IT IN PURPLE
The letter to Mrs. Payne was in reply to a first letter of 9/11/2000, the text of which was first posted here.
Letter 3 Feb 21 1981 from Hislop to Terry Scott and Mrs. Payne:-

2-21-81 (see scan of original xerox circular from Hislop)

Dear Terry and Mrs. Payne :

I have just now received a letter from Richard telling me about his conversation with you and that you feel I should have phoned yourselves first about the receipt of Sri Baba’s letter, that I am destroying the reputation of the family as good truthful people, and that a response is expected from me.

How can I be on the telephone or discuss in person with yourself, Mrs. Payne and Terry Jr.? The boy has committed himself to his story, and throughout history mothers are lionesses who defend their sons to the bitter end. I could only repeat directly by voice that I do not believe the story, and that could serve only to further infuriate and antagonize the family. I could satisfy the mother and son only by agreeing to believe that what Terry Jr. says is factual, but I can never believe any story from anywhere which accuses `Sri Baba of vicious, low-class criminal acts.

From my first reply to your initial letter I have clearly stated that I do not believe the stories told by Jerry Jr. and, furthermore, that I do not condemn him because I do not clearly understand what would lead a teen-age boy to make accusations which I hold cannot be factual. I have told the same to the Directors and you have a copy of that letter. I do not accuse the boy of “lying”. I am not a psychologist, but I have observed over the years that the subconscious can readily invent and project unreality in an attempt to escape intolerable stress. And, with Terry Jr. expelled in disgrace from the Hostel, he is under intolerable pressure to his sense of self-esteem and to his family security. Dr. Sandweiss would be able to describe escape mechanisms and suggest how the family could help.

In respect to the Directors, how can I stand silent and let the accusations have their way unopposed? The Directors all received from Mrs. Payne her letter detailing the accusations — is it not my duty as President of the Sai organization to inform the Directors of the position I take and the reasons for it. We all can only do what we believe to be correct, refrain from doing what we believe to be wrong and leave the rest in the hands of Providence.

You have heard that Swami replied to my letters. The significant part of His reply is this: “Sai is millions of miles away from the devilish passion attributed to Him … As fire consumes all materials … these false stories and false allegations are reduced to ashes by my Divinity … Rest assured that Sai’s fame can never de diminished by those false stories … good and pious people will never care for them.”

Richard speaks of your thought that you may “go public” with the accusations in order to vindicate your son. In what possible way can this help your family? Might it not, on the contrary, create a reputation for the boy which might follow him as a serious future handicap? Do consider seriously before putting your family into the newspapers. Seek the advice of mature friends before starting such a journey-of-no-return.

May this unhappy situation halt at once before it brings further sorrow into the life of the Payne family.

With kindest regards to yourself, wife and son.

Sincerely
(signed) Hislop

COMMENT: The letter Hislop refers to as coming from Richard was most likely Richard Bayer. Mrs Payne was quite right in feeling that Hislop should have contacted her after receiving Sai Baba’s letter. He did not even respond to her with care and concern, when a phone call would have been the honest alternative. Hislop had heard similar allegations before from Conny Larsson, not least, and knew of Tal Brooke’s reports of Sai Baba sex advances. Yet he was evidently too perturbed by yet more such to have the courage to face her personally. Instead he took an underhand route of contacting Sai Baba and directors of the Sathya Sai Organization to disavow in strong terms the possibility that her claims were genuine. Hislop’s (no doubt obsequiously framed) question to the accused (Sai Baba) had a predetermined outcome – for an accused pedophile would never readily admit to the truth of accusations, especially not one who has all his life promoted himself as about the purest being ever to walk the planet!

As leader of the Sathya Sai Organization in the USA, Hislop failed dismally to exercise any duty of care. His dishonest procedure patently aimed to manipulate the situation before replying to her by raising major doubts among those who were formerly her fellow devotees (‘Brothers and Sisters of the Sai family’ as they are fatuously called in Sai parlance) as to her truthfulness and even the psychological state of her son, using words like ‘cunning’ and ‘violence’, ‘deadly weapons’ in reference to the contents of the letter received.

Hiding behind the fact that Mrs Payne had seen it necessary at length also to send her letter to directors of the organization, Hislop argues that his duty as President of the SSO was not to allow the allegations to stand unopposed. So much for duty of care.. he believed we could only do what we believe to be correct… but why could he not have done the more correct thing, to investigate the allegations seriously, including with others who he knew to have reported such abuses? No, he preferred to ‘leave the rest in the hands of Providence’ (which he also fully believed to be nothing other than the hands of Sathya Sai Baba!)

What did the providential Sai Baba reply to Hislop? He made a most exaggerated statement involving “millions of miles” of distance between his holy self and boasted about his fame never being diminished by such stories [That I can confidently say is proven entirely wrong today! Fire has not consumed the allegations, which are many and mostly entirely credible, especially to those of us who know some of the claimants personally and have contacted numerous others and questioned them closely]. Sathya Sai Baba calls homosexual molestation “devilish passion”, which says far more about him, his beliefs and strong sentiments than about his accusers!

After what he has done to destroy their reputation, one cannot but suspect the guru-deluded and moralistic Hislop of crocodile tears on behalf of the Payne family… What he South to have written was more like “May this unhappy situation halt at once before it brings further sorrow into the life of myself and Sai Baba followers everywhere”
To send his “kindest regards” after that letter was sheer hypocrisy!
However, that wish has not been fulfilled wither, for Providence has decided otherwise.
