Sathya Sai Baba’s claims of financial poverty, non-ownership and self-sacrifice

Posted by robertpriddy on November 12, 2010

“Some people are so mean-minded that they do not want to understand and appreciate the sanctity associated with the activities. Have any of them been able to accomplish even one-thousandth part of what Sai baba is doing? No, no, no! It is only Sathya Sai Baba who has undertaken such noble tasks without a trace of selfishness.” (From  Sathya Sai Baba’s Christmas Discourse, 2000)

Does Sai Baba himself have any money to give away unselfishly?

On 11/8/2001, Sathya Sai Baba held a discourse (published in Sanathana Sarathi, September 2001) where he detailed the running costs of the two hospitals, the colleges etc. and how much investment is needed to cover these. This sum – amounting to the interest from 600 crores of rupees (about $120 mill), is perhaps surprisingly little, considering the billions that have been donated to him. Half the interest of this 600 crores goes to the Bangalore hospital, 2/6th to the Puttaparthi hospital and 1/6th to all the educational institutions together. Sai Baba asks rhetorically, “Wherefrom does it all come?” And adds so self-deprecatingly, “However, I am giving it” (p. 264). Does Sai Baba himself have any money to give, then? He has always claimed to be a renunciant who owns nothing. For example, “At a meeting of the Central Trust yesterday, I told the members including Sri Indulal Shah, that I had no interest in property. Do not involve me in any connection with these properties. I do not wish to have any connection with money or property. My only concern is with my devotees. Telling them all this, I signed the papers. (1.01.1998, Sanathana Sarathi, Vol.  41, January1998, p. 4).

However, a person who has control over the multi-billion dollar trust in that all his chosen ‘directors’ are beholden to him and – in their faith that he is all-knowing Divinity – dare not contradict him, cannot be said to be without property. He has expressed his gratitude to anyone for the help he personally receives! As usual, Sathya Sai Baba claims “I do not accept anything from anyone” (p. 168). How can he really not receive ANYTHING, just like everyone else alive does? Impossible! He is the recipient of many goods that most Indians regard as unattainable luxuries!

Sai Baba related in this same Krishna birthday discourse that he received news that the same sum, 600 crores of rupees, was coming from a person in the US with whom he had no direct contact. If so, this means it was someone other than the US metals magnate (and big Haliburton investor) James Sinclair, who has also made several donations in the tens of millions… and further, donations of $100 million and more have even been announced in public now and again! Donors to the water project were publicly named before the ca. 300,000 visitors at Baba’s 70th birthday (as a blessing?) The list included only those who had given over a very high amount (1 crore of rupees – over $200,000.-), without mention of any others who were not so rich but had also contributed. James Sinclair was named along with dozens others, including the Indian liquor baron Bangarappa! Unlike Mahatma Gandhi, Sai Baba willingly accepts tainted money. Devotees rationalize this on the lines of ‘God is all-powerful so why can’t he do anything he wishes? Some argue more sensibly that he make bad money good by putting it to better ends… however, this is really only money-laundering and whitewashing. The money goes to increase his interests and standing!

Any near-exact estimate of the entire Sai holdings is impossible to make due to the extremely secretive Sathya Sai Central Trust and other funds over which he has control , but $10 billion would probably be a conservative guess. Calculating on the basis of membership figures and other estimates touted by the Sathya Sai Organisation, another source put the figure at $45 billion sometime after 2000. Since reliable information on everything about the Sai empire is never declared fully and their accounts are protected by the government, including the secrets of the many sources from which donations come (testimonies of deceased devotees, often their entire estates – such as the fortune of the famous film star James Mason, for one. A close relative of a friend of mine was induced to part with £1/4 million in her last will and testament to the Sathya Sai Central Trust when  Sai devotees – having already extracted tens of thousands of pounds from her for projects which never materialized – further concentrated on ‘love-bombing’ her in her aged frailty, giving her false hopes of salvation and so on.

No accounts are available to anyone – other than undocumented annual gross sum statements by the authorities, who are often under Sai Baba’s influential thumb – as is well known to insiders -) The Sathya Sai Trust is exempt from taxation, and special freedom from import duties have been granted by his governmental followers. One certainly wonders where it all goes, apart from the opulent luxuries like charter jets, extravagant buildings, apartments and frequent costly festivals and huge ‘birthday bashes’!

Self-promotion takes a high ride

Scan from: Sathya Sai Baba Discourse on Christmas Day - hypocritically entitled "Overcome Jealousy With Love" in Prashanthi Nilayam temple in which he abandons love and attacks critics to damn them as demons, as well as making untrue and wholly unsubstiantiated allegations about critics taking money to write about him

scan excerpt from the infamous Sathya Sai Baba Discourse on Christmas Day hypocritically entitled "Overcome Jealousy With Love" in Prashanthi Nilayam temple in which he abandons love and attacks critics to damn them as demons, as well as wilfully making untrue and wholly unsubstiantiated allegations about critics taking money to write about him. This was repeated in another form by him on March 7, 2007: ... "So I don't lose anything by their false propaganda. ... It would be far better if they follow Sathya Sai Baba instead and set an ideal to the rest of the world. I have no desires or ambition. Here is no trace of jealousy"

Speaking of 12,000 heart operations performed at the Puttaparthi hospital, he boasts, “I leave it to your imagination to appreciate who is responsible for saving so many lives.” (p. 262) Could Sai Baba mean the donors, the doctors, all the selfless hospital workers? He prefers you imagine that this could not happen unless he somehow does it all! If he is saying it is all due to his ‘miraculous aid’, then why does he bother with the hospitals? I am free to “imagine” that the actual health workers and other staff who work voluntarily or for a very small remuneration are those who are actually responsible for saving the lives that are presumably saved. Not to forget the US multi-millionaire Isaac Tigrett, who donated the entire first Puttaparthi ‘super-speciality hospital’ plus all its equipment.

More to the point is who chooses the accepted candidates for treatment (for, in a country with crying needs like India there must be very many who cannot be accommodated?). It is known that numerous devotees, including visitors from abroad, have been accorded operations there. I have met devotees from abroad who applied through their local branches of the Sathya Sai Organization… and were accepted. I leave it to your imagination as to why this is so in a hospital that was supposedly dedicated to the truly poor and needy. The donors have no way of knowing the patient lists, nor therefore whether their money is being used for the reasons it was collected, or rather largely for promotion of the cult and its adherents.

But it is striking how Sai Baba in discourse after discourse publicizes and praises himself in a way which one will be hard put to find elsewhere. He goes on, for the n`th time, “I have no personal desires or selfishness in Me at all. I have not asked anybody for help. Will anybody simply give hundreds of crores for the mere asking? None.” Does Sai Baba – who says he knows absolutely everything – not even know that there have been thousands of huge benefactors of mankind who have not been asked, and who have behaved with modesty – giving full credit to all those involved without whom their part would not have been possible?

Examples of vast donations to charitable works are plenty: they stretch from Robert Owen to Rockefeller, Washington Carver to Guggenheim, Warren Buffet, Getty, George Soros, Imran Khan and Bill Gates – a mere $33 billion given by him so far! Why would ‘God Incarnate – Creator of the Universe’ need to harp on about his own excellence, selfless purity, what he is giving (as if he was a big donor in the scheme of things? Why does he hardly ever mention all the others who contribute selflessly in various ways, not only though his (corrupt) Trust but all around the globe? Persons he no doubt regards as ‘ordinary unenlightened’ people (eg. Bob Geldoff, Warren Buffet, Imran Khan and countless other less famous figures in almost every country of the world) leading big charitable projects or relief work without making any such fuss about themselves.

Along with his self-praise comes repeated talk of his supposedly being unaffected by praise or blame! “All that I do has a great ideal for humanity.” Does this include his having stood by without lifting a finger while his officials persuaded the police to shoot young men armed only with knives in cold blood? But, though he would not answer any questions the press put to him about this, he says, “There is nothing hidden in My actions”. (p. 266. The fact is, that almost everything is very systematically and carefully hidden from all but a few… excepting what can be seen when he gives his daily darshan walkabouts of around 1 hour per day, and discourses on special days. His person is guarded by cordons of servitors, security people who are mostly undercover.

Sathya Sai Baba regards himself as a major donor to Indian society… yet he has never earned a penny of the billions donated, which he claims are not even his! He always wants to eat his cake and still have it. In a speech in Oct 1999, he explained:- “To date I have never desired anything. I have not touched even a single paisa of anyone. Things come to Me on their own unasked whenever the necessity arises. I have never stretched My hand before anybody from My childhood till now and this will be the norm in the future also. I feel happy in giving and not in receiving.” His every single need is met by others, and I – and many others – know from personal experiences that he does “stretch out his hand for donations”. He pretends to materialize diamonds and other objects which he gives away. They are not genuine, and he even pretended to materialize watches donated to him by a UK Sathya Sai Organization group visiting his ashram. The recipients are almost always deluded into believing him, and they in turn donate real money, huge amounts of time and energy… this is indeed a scam of massive proportions.

Persons Sai Baba no doubt regards as ‘ordinary unenlightened’ people ( and countless other less famous figures in almost every country of the world) are major philanthropists leading  charitable projects or relief work without making any such fuss about themselves. Yet in his Christmas Discourse 2000 he also said: “There are many millionaires in this world who are so mean and narrow-minded that they set their dogs on the persons, who beg for alms at their doorstep. It is shameful to consider them as human beings. These persons are unable to do even a thousandth of what Sathya Sai Baba is doing for society, but shamelessly indulge in false allegations.” This reckless and general accusation shows how disturbed he is when his boasts of purity and selfless poverty are shown to be empty:-

George Lucas, the director of the Star Wars films, and
Michael Bloomberg, the Mayor of New York and data tycoon, had already promised to donate “a majority” of their wealth.

  • Mark Zuckerberg, 26, founder of Facebook.com, thought to be worth almost $7 billion (£4.4 billion), has signed the Giving Pledge, a campaign led by Bill Gates, the founder of Microsoft, and Warren Buffett, the financier.
  • Dustin Moskovitz, the Facebook co-founder and former room-mate, who is also 26 and has a fortune of about $1.4 billion (£888 million), are among 17 new billionaires to have joined the initiative.
  • Prince Karim Aga Khan IV ~ founder[1] and chairman[2] of Aga Khan Development Network which focuses on health, education, culture, rural development, institution-building and promotion of economic development[2].
  • Jane Addams ~ co-founder of the Hull House settlement house in Chicago[3]

Murders in ‘The Abode of Supreme Peace’ [Prashanthi Nilayam] -2

The aftermath of executions: Sai Baba's sofa, knives of the murdered followers, potassium cyanide bottle etc.

The aftermath of executions: Sai Baba's sofa, knives of the murdered followers, potassium cyanide bottle etc.

Should the utterly despicable cold-blooded executions of the four devotees in Sathya Sai Baba’s apartment be forgotten because of the despicable cover-up by the Government of India, the graphic description needs is being circulated once again.- After having intruded into the Prashanthi Nilayam temple and survived a knife battle in which two of the Baba´s servitors were killed – four devotees were trapped in the apartment and, hours later, were mowed down in a rain of bullets by police. If there is any justice or concern for what is right in this world, this unsolved major murder case will continue increasingly to haunt Indian authorities and the probity of its rulers in the last two decades for many long years to come.

No form of justice or redress of any kind was allowed for any of the bereaved or those affected by Sathya Sai Baba’s staff purges of ashramites whose lives had been dedicated to service under the figurehead of Sathya Sai Baba. Due to Sathya Sai Baba’s power over his top Indian government followers, it is unsafe for anyone within India to speak out or make a public record of what they know about this. Therefore, some foreign ex-followers are filling that gap assiduously! Here is the continuing account of what the damning photo evidence indicates, as made by former world-famous India Sceptic, Basava Premanand:-

The top left picture is the interview room of Sai Baba next to his bed room where Sai Baba meets the members of his trust and other functionaries [[Note: as of 1993]]: There are two wooden poles, one stained with blood, a pillow with blood stain, a wall clock, a table lamp and other articles on the sofa. But no blood on the sofa. The very fact that these materials are on the sofa set proves some one had placed them on the sofa. This proves that there were others in Sai Baba residence. On the left side of the sofa near the teapoy there is rope and a stick. In front of the sofa on the left side is a hose and a T-shaped metal instrument. On the right side in front of the sofa, part of a red and blue box or book is seen. The teapoy on the left side of the sofa is full with materials – flask, idol of Ramakrishna. etc.,

Pic.6 shows seven knives one as long as 4 feet. lt is not known how these could be hidden in their body by the four alleged assailants when blood stains are seen especially on the 4 foot  sword and the metal instrument. They were not found near the bodies of the four assailants.
As per the interview given by Retired Jus. Balakrishna Erady, Supreme Court, the 4 alleged assailants being the watchmen of the residence for the night had carried their bedding and the knives etc. might have been hidden in the bedding. But their bedding is not found inside the residence as per the observations of the mandal executive magistrate:

Pic.8 is of the 2 bottles containing potassium cyanide and ether and the rest are the defused bomb parts with wire etc. The police have not explained how alter a thorough search of the premises on 7th, they discovered the bombs on 8.6.1993. Also because of the visit of president’s family and home minister the whole complex would have been searched by the intelligence department as per the protocol. When the bombs were not found then, it proves beyond doubt that the bombs were planted after the murders to make the murder case strong.

Beatings, torture and killings by Police in India

Posted by robertpriddy on September 25, 2010

Some graphic proofs of the bestiality of Indian police - a widespread state of affairsPolice bestiality, legal and official corruption in India today

India’s government has spent billions of dollars (some – incl. the BBC – report  it may eventually amount to 50 billion) on the Commonwealth Games – wealth that should instead have been for the common people instead in this land of the greatest human calamities. The Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh and his minions (himself a devout follower – no less – of the self-proclaimed omnipotent God Incarnate Sathya Sai Baba), have constantly ignored calls to clean up the filth prevailing in the competitors’ quarters, and now are trying to save the games. Britain has decided to send its sportspeople there – despite the lawlessness, unsafe infrastructure, prevalent contagions and the constant mindless beating up in public by police of innocents (not excluding foreigners), not least because they do not want to lost valuable business contracts and alienate the Indian ‘brown sahibs’ further. Commonwealth countries should rather tell India to clean up their disastrously brutal police force, their corrupt and elitist judiciary and the sheer deceit practised by some Indian gurus they actually protect to the full (i.e. Sai Baba). (Funnily, however, gullible devotees of Sai Baba have actually enthused over him having privately prophesied the Olympics in 2020 will be held in India and also around his ashram in Andhra Pradesh!)

Police in India are guilty of widespread human rights violations, including beatings, torture and killings, a new report alleges Human Rights Watch spent a year investigating claims of human rights violations to compile the 118-page report, entitled “Broken System: Dysfunction, Abuse and Impunity in the Indian Police”.

Rathore – a police chief who brutally raped a 14-year old girl and escaped justice, whereupon she killed herself – was nearly buried by the media and government. However, the gradually awakening wider Indian public rose in anger and have made this a landmark case in bringing some accountability to police chiefs in India. This cover-up is but one of hundreds of similar reported cases of unpunished police killings and massive brutality in the past decade. The most serious police executions and cover-up, which Indian governments continue to cover-up. was the police executions in cold blood of four devotees in Sathya Sai Baba’s bedroom apartment. The cover-up for this constantly self-proclaimed God Incarnate and world saviour is to protect the reputation of India’s five Prime Ministers, four Presidents, the judiciary and many top people in India others who had already worshipped this widely accused pedophile, sex abuser and proven ignoramus plus murder accomplice for decades before he was exposed.

India bashing?

As Barry Pittard has written: “
“When critics point out the mass of contradictions and the vast corruptions in India, conscienceless attackers such as the Sathya Sai Baba man, Gerald Moreno of New Mexico, USA, allied with some of Sai Baba’s notable followers, who stay in the background, they are said to be “India bashing”. What the former devotee and other critics point out has long been stated by many courageous and truthful Indian citizens down many decades. It may be hoped that these forces of decency and efficiency in India will be aided by the glaring world spotlight which has all too suddenly swung on the many corrupt and befuddled Indian leaders because she is hosting the Commonwealth Games”.

Gerald Moreno, allied with some of his low-minded followers who all try to stay in the background, tries to portray myself and Pittard  as India bashers and haters, he does so because he wants to generate hate against us among Indians. However, we are on the side of the great mass of Indians and against corrupt leadership, uncaring politicians, extortionate moguls, law-breaking and brutal police forces who ignore the vast sufferings of so many.

Moreno’ speaks of IndiFour victims of police executions in Sathya Sai Baba's bedroom, 1993a on his original vishvarupa.com website in 2003 of India as follows:  “For the past 14 years I have travelled many times to India. I’m captivated by India. (Much to the bewilderment of friends and family)” and he has never made a single critical observation about the vast poverty, the general unconcern with the poor and suffering, the host of embezzling and self-serving politicians and mafias and the depths of depravity whereby children are sold into prostitution in the millions and tiny babies are maimed in horrendous ways to turn them into beggars. His only concern is to bash and harass in every possible way every dissident of his admired gurus, Sathya Sai Baba, convicted murderer and rapist Swami Premananda, Ammachi the heavy-duty hugging matron, the long-expired Ramana Maharshi and such others.

Email Correspondence with ARORA, VISHAL

Posted by robertpriddy on September 23, 2010

As part of his researches, Vishal Arora contacted both Sathya Sai Baba proponents and dissidents. As his article shows with all clarity, he was unable to penetrate the wall of silence and propaganda that surrounds all Sathya Sai Baba and all his officials and ashram people. Gerald Moreno went straight into an offensive to try to pressure Arora into acting as his mouthpiece, which failed dismally, of course. As is his wont, Moreno speculated over why I was not on-line for two weeks in the month or so prior to Arora’s article’s, implying that I was in India meeting him. Far from it, I was travelling in the Western hemisphere only.

In fact, Moreno is extremely frustrated by the fact that no serious journalist or researcher will take any notice of what he writes, not as soon as they read his diatribes and falsifications. He was rejected by journalists in USA and one in Norway (at Aftenposten, who contacted me after an e-mail exchange with him which gave her the right picture well enough. She thought he was childish! Moreno wrote back to her that he was “very disappointed”!). He was up in arms over Tulasi Srinivas, who mentioned –  sometimes inaccurately and with much censorship of our evidence – the researches of Brian Steel, Barry Pittard and myself… but gave Moreno’s conspiracies the cold shoulder altogether. He has also been given the cold shoulder by my friend and colleague, Erlendur Haraldsson (in psychological and para-psychological matters), who simply mailed back to the mischievous Moreno how we are old friends. Everything I wrote about Haraldsson on my web pages is true (my wife can attest to the content of many conversations about Sai Baba’s egomania etc. he and I had). Of course, I have the proof of my various claims about his opinions in Haraldsson’s own e-mails to me, of which I have at least 50.

Thus, Vishal Arora was no doubt drawn more and more into a sceptical attitude regarding Sathya Sai Baba by Moreno’s phoney friendly advances, though he did not communicate much with the sceptics. He e-mailed me on the advice of the dissident Serguei Badaev, former Sathya Sai Organization President in Moscow, quoting him as follows:-
“We are continually being persecuted by various Sai Baba supporters, not least by Murali Krishna Yachendra… related to a most prominent Sai Baba follower in India. I have, for example, received a public death threat not so long ago too.” To this I replied:-

Dear Mr. Vishal Arora,
Thank you for contacting me!
I was the national leader of the Sathya Sai Centre in Oslo and contact person for the national Organization for most of 18 years in Norway until 2000.
As to the death threat I received, it was sent as a comment to my wordpress blog and can be viewed below the blog at https://robertpriddy.wordpress.com/2008/11/24/2164/
After receiving that threat, I reported it to the Oslo Police. Due to lack of resources and the fact that the threat was made from the USA, the police decided they could not pursue the matter. WordPress provide the IP and e-mail address given. This was as follows:-

sathya88 –   mohan88hg@gmail.com –  137.131.206.70   –  2008/11/26 at 1:08 am
Robert Priddy,
You are son of a Bastard for sure I can tell you that. Sai Baba is god and his devotees love to see him on the golden chariot. If even swamy doesnot want golden things we want him to see majestically. If you come in front of me I will kill you man mohan

I tracked down the geo location to the USA. It is in San Diego, California. I replied to the e-mail with the warning that it was reported to the police. If you search Google for the e0-mail in question you now find several entries, including the phone number of mohan (he runs San Diego boats and his phone no. is 858 587 4829 !! I have not contacted him. (Since I did not know this, perhaps I should report him to his local police… I have not considered that before.)
See http://www.google.com/search?q=%22mohan88hg%40gmail.com%22&hl=en&lr=&filter=0
He also has a profile at the following web address: http://www.spoke.com/profiles/mohan88hg@gmail.com
If you consider it o.k. to contact him, please inform me what result you may get.
In case you do not know of my long involvement etc. with Sathya Sai Baba and why I eventually joined the the exposure of him, please visit my main website at http://www.saibaba-x.org.uk/ There I have documented a massive amount of material concerning him, which I guarantee is completely truthful and true as far as my knowledge reaches.

Murali Krishna Yachendra (former teacher at Sathya Sai College and an insider at Prashanthi Nilayam) is the grandson of the Raja of Venkatagiri and his case is an interesting one. The entire matter is documented in a book published by Skeptic Book Club (Basava Premanand) entitled “Sabotage by Murali Krishna Yachendra” in which the countless e-mail exchanges between him and expose activists is printed. An extremely revealing attempt to confound activists…but it was foiled. Premanand lodged a complaint to the police (see attached scan) and the District Collector – without result!! See a resume of the matter and document scans etc. at
http://www.saibabaexpose.com/Yachendra/Murali_Krishna_Yachendra.htm

Scan of mail sent by Basava Premanand to Nellore Police reporting death threat from Mohan88

As to the question of persecution by Sai Baba activists, there is a catalogue of such things. Firstly the victims of sex abuse and their families have been persecuted through their social networks, employment etc.(according to many highly confidential e-mails I have received – I cannot release this information since numerous murders in India have been recorded – many by B. Premanand, but – of course – the execution in cold blood of four devotees in June 1993. The subsequent CBI investigation was hindered then finally quashed from top governmental level just before the result was pending! This can be verified on-line from numerous reports – not least in the BBC Interview with V.P.B. Nair – Former Home Secretary of Andhra Pradesh State at http://www.exbaba.com/comments_on/_the_secret_swami/nair.htm

Then there is a massive internet campaign, much of it by Sai admirer Gerald Joe Moreno of Las Cruces, New Mexico, but also by numerous others… including hundreds of bulletin board libels, lies and personal attacks etc. on over a hundred persons who have spoken out about the sex abuses and similar instances of criminal events connected to Sathya Sai Baba and/or his institutions.

Please feel free to pose any questions you may have… and you are free to print anything which I have stated here, also anything on my main website or my main blog at robertpriddy.wordpress.com.

Thanking you for your interest,
Sincerely
Robert Priddy

Arora’s replied to me only briefly. He did not use any of my materials as such, though his opinions are very much in line with my own, it turned out. He asked how he might contact the Rahms, Lisa Tice and Hari Sampath, on which I informed him.
The result I later saw was as follows:-

Vishal Arora reports on the Rahm family, Hari Sampath etc.

As to alleged “Screen-cap fraud”: Gerald Moreno accuses others who are innocent of fraud – who have never changed a single word of what has been recorded from the internet, of that which he is guilty himself! He has nothing whatever substantive to charge me with, so he descends to hair-splitting matters about difference in colour and contrast, arrangement of information etc. as being ‘fraudulent’. His one aim is to have as many accusations on-line as possible, which seem at first glance to surfers to be something. On closer inspection he is seen to be a fanatical obsessive hate promoter. Further, he has frequently left out very significant words in his ‘quotations’ of Basava Premanand and in some of his otherwise also heavily-biased and selective presentations of what I have written.

Vishal Arora Indian journalist exposes Sathya Sai Baba

Posted by robertpriddy on September 20, 2010

‘The Caravan’ Magazine on Sathya Sai Baba by independent investigative journalist Vishal Arora states:-

Sathya Sai Baba bedroom murders summarized by Vishal Arora, independent Indian journalist

As Arora found out, there is a most powerful and widely extended cadre of Sathya Sai Baba worshippers in power in India, most of whom having been outspoken as worshipping devotees for many years. Prestige, favours, money and, above all, the fear or ridicule for having been so thoroughly taken in by a widely accused pedophile and accomplice to murder of his own devotees is a powerful factor in their continued fear (and blocking) of investigations of any kind into Sathya Sai Baba. Vishal Arora writes:-
There is no lack of powerful, high-profile people cutting across political parties and spheres, professing their faith in Sai Baba.
Justice PN Bhagwati, the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of India in 1985 and 1986, calls him “divinity incarnate” in Baba is God in Human Form: Experiences of Divinity of Bhagwan Sri Sathya Sai Baba. In the same book, Shivraj Vishwanath Patil, currently Governor of Punjab and former Union Home Minister, says, “He is the knowledge; He is the wisdom personified.” Shankarrao Bhavrao Chavan, former Chief Minister of Maharashtra for two terms and former Union Home and Finance Minister, says he has “no hesitation in saying, whatever position and status I have is purely because of Bhagwan’s blessings.”
And further:-
Famous Indian laywer Kamini Jaiswal spoke to Vishal Arora about the blank refusal of the Supreme Court Petition against Sathya Sai Baba.

Gross fraudulence: Gerald Moreno tries to ridicule Robert Priddy

Posted by robertpriddy on September 16, 2010

On Gerald Moreno’s countless hundreds of anti-Priddy websites, blogs and comments, few show such patently manipulated (i.e. falsified) screen captures than the one shown below. [Yet he took care to accuse me – also falsely – of fraudulent screen-caps, which were actually made from Google caches, which differ from the original site in details, and which I have reduced in size to save space, and in which not a single word of his was altered]

Exposing The Anti-Sai Activist: Robert Priddy

Laurens Van Der Post – The Night Of The New Moon:

Just how gullible was Robert Priddy when he was a Sai Devotee for 17-26 years?
Comment: firstly, Moreno tries to make an issue of how long I was a Sai follower (he has written page up and page down to develop this petty theme of my supposed ‘deception’. Such niggling is how Moreno tries to ‘prove’ a lack of integrity of my entire character. The fact is, there are many degrees of commitment involved. I first heard of Sathya Sai Baba in 1954. I learned more about him in 1971. Around 1978 I became interested in Shirdi Sai Baba (though with considerable reservations as to the claims about him). Only in 1983 did Sathya Sai Baba enter my awareness strongly enough to say I became a would-be follower (not all are equally definitive, not all accept everything uncritically.. as in my case). I was the de facto leader (i.e. organizer and leader of all events in the Oslo group) and in Norway from 1983, the pro forma centre leader from 1985 until about 1996-7 and the national leader throughout until 2000. All that explain the variations in dates, which Moreno pettily tries to make into a big issue. Moreno continues (black bold text):-

The answer is very gullible. For example, Robert Priddy published (in his book “Source Of The Dream”) the following scans to Laurens Van Der Post’s “The Night Of The New Moon” book-cover and claimed that one could easily discern the form of Sathya Sai Baba in them.

Gerald Moreno's falsified scan of page based on an illustration in Robert Priddy's book 'Source of the Dream'

The manipulated (falsified) scan on Gerald Moreno’s website made as yet another reprehensible but vain attempt to ridicule Priddy

Notice how Robert Priddy enhanced the color on the edited scan and had to carefully shape Baba’s hair from the clouds?

Comment: This is really gross of Moreno! I never enhanced anything, the photos were processed by professional publishers before being put in my book. I reproduce – below the falsified image Moreno posted -, the exact replica of the photos which appear identically in three editions of my book “Source of the Dream” (Sun-Sky Publications, Samuel Weiser Inc. and a Portuguese edition), without a jot of enhancement. The cut-out version was to help readers discern what attracted our attention (in the unusual situation where it came to our notice). Instead, Moreno darkened the images and made one dise different in contrast to the other so as to be able to claim he could not see Sai Baba (in either image!). Where he got the image from with the Penguin logo on I can only guess, I never published such an image myself. Moreno continues:-

I looked long and hard at the images and cannot see Sathya Sai Baba in them. I suppose if one were desperate enough, one could see Sathya Sai Baba in the clouds (no matter how vague the perception). However, these scans show how gullible, naive and “backward intellectually” Robert Priddy was when he was a Sai Devotee.

About the alleged form of Sathya Sai Baba on the book-cover, Robert Priddy said:
“A second leela, which we felt was a form of recognition by Baba for our carrying out regular study of his teachings, occurred similarly one evening when we plodded on with our reading, even though we were very tired. My eye was suddenly drawn to the form of Sathya Sai in the clouds of an evening sky on the front cover of a book that I had recently read. The book is a deeply spiritual account of the life and death in a Japanese prisoner-of-war camp by Laurens van der Post, titled Night of the Moon. It is curious, too, that the night of the new moon is known in India as the night of Shiva. The figure of Sai, leaning forward as if to dispense vibuthi, can be figured out from the background.” (Source Of The Dream, ‘The Universal World Teacher’, pg 212) Robert Priddy was one of those gullible, naive, “ignorami”, “backward intellectually” and “ignorant peasants” when he was a Sai Devotee for 17 years…

COMMENT: Now ever inconsistent Moreno himself decides that I was a devotee for 17 years… which is basically correct, as I only reckoned myself such from 1983 until 2000. “Ignorant peasant” and an “ignorami” hardly describes me, considering that I was the top philosophy graduate at the University of Oslo and lectured in social science and philosophy (tenured) for most of my professional life before I went to India. If that qualifies me as an ‘ignorant peasant’ and ‘backward intellectually’ readers must decide. Note that Moreno leaves out the word ‘new’ in the title “Night of the New Moon”, which is a significant point (a lapse or intentional distortion?)

In that time when the truth about Sai Baba has hardly emerged in public and only a very few came to learn the astonishing and depressing facts, I was in the company of hundreds of Ph.Ds – mostly Indian but not all – and dozens of pro-Sai writers and a great number of other educated devotees who related very similar experiences of ‘seeing’ the form of Sai Baba in many things (which indeed he insists every devotee should always strive to visualize and see everywhere and in everything!). My friend – Sai Baba’s distinguished editor –  V.K. Narasimhan showed the form of Sai Baba’s head on a bowl of cream to many devotees who visited his apartment. There are many images showing Sai Baba’s form in many other objects, such as in ritual fires. (See a supposed ‘appearance’ of Sai Baba in a ritual homa fire at Prashanthi Nilayam) Dr. Jack Hawley enthused in his book about seeing Sai Baba before him, Sandweiss, Hislop, Murphet, Krystal… all regarded this an important phenomenon. Sai Baba himself has given the teaching (see at foot of blog for source references).

Moreno, however, claimed he saw Sai Baba in the flesh in New Mexico… and took it for a miracle straight off.

I was not so gullible or naive either, as I rejected a whole lot of the stories I heard, and was privately most amused by many of the beliefs of a large number of truly uncritical and mindless devotees. The fact is, I was systematically deceiv

ed by Sathya Sai Baba and his entire cadre and most of his following, as many people around the world were. I am no longer deceived, but far too many still are, and especially Gerald Moreno, who tries to ridicule me further:-

(Priddy) … who believed in Avatars, lilas, divine manifestations, gnomes, trolls, fairies, possessing demons, elves, UFOs, extra-terrestials, leprechauns and elementals.

Comment: I believed for some years that Sai Baba most likely was an avatars – as he so rigidly claim and which millions still believe (unfortunately). That belief is a requirement of all members of the Sathya Sai Organization. As to earth spirits, I wrote: “There is a great wealth of testimonial evidence from the whole of the world and history that belief or faith – involving intense emotional or mental preoccupation of some kind – can open the experience of visions, apparitions and apparently miraculous phenomena.” I did not positively affirm their existence, but the likelihood that they may exists as science has not been able (or even tried) to explain them. But Moreno wants it to be quite otherwise. See my article on ‘elementals’ and why modern science has begun to provide experimentally-based explanations of these phenomena. Note that Moreno believes in miracles… and many other doubtful phenomena (which I do not and never have – such as crystals, kundalini, healing mandalas etc.)  He is very cagey about everything else he believes as he knows that to make this public would be very embarrassing. Moreno continues to undercut the beliefs of virtually all Sai devotees (most of which he promotes wildly on his blog ‘Love, Light and Spirituality.. and under the name ‘sathyasaibaba’ too). But he has at least prompted me to explain my former experiences in greater detail, as I otherwise would have neglected to do.

Robert Priddy is bitter and vindictive because he fully documented his own gullible, naive, brainwashed and non-intelligent devotee behavior in his Pro-Sai book for the world to see! What’s even more funny is how Robert Priddy bashes Sai Devotees for acting and believing in the very same manner he did when he was a Sai Devotee. Laughable!

How Moreno overplays his eternally weak hand. I am exposing the gullibility of Sai devotees only now, who should know better after the many revelations of the facts they will not or cannot face. Moreno promotes the VIP devotee and author Howard Murphet (see here), who goes far further that I ever did in the matter of extra-normal spirit influences – including discarnate spirits of ‘ascended masters’ and what have you. But Moreno attacks only dissidents, not Sai Baba favourites.  I did not act as most devotees do at darshan, constantly pressing forward, wanting sweets, blessings and material trinkets… I believed mainly only in the power of doing what good service one can, advancing human understanding and that spirituality is only a private experience between oneself and ‘the divine’, but not something to be paraded and off-handedly boasted about as so many I met did. I always tried to inform the public in as reflected a way as I could in the circumstances (i.e. while being the victim of what is mostly a massive fraud) and my book was one of the very most restrained in praise – compared to the hundreds of besotted panegyrics still on sale about Sai Baba.  Rather than “bashing” Sai devotees for being gullible, naive and brainwashed (and most were far more so than I ever was), I have shown from a very wide range of documentation that – in addition to the huge mass of evidence of his sexual abuses and involvements in dark matters – most of Sai Baba’s belief system – once penetrated (which is far from easy to achieve in that environment) is either direct and cynical deception by SSB and his diverse minions, or wild inventions so as to try to extract some holy interpretation, blessing or personal advantages from this typical Indian guru-hysteria phenomenon.

An e-mail friend wrote this to me about Moreno’s above-quoted page:-
“Didn’t  JM defend the 2007 Moon claims against your and BP’s criticisms? He seems to want to have his cake and eat it – again! A riposte on the gullibility angle might hit his Achilles heel Number 317 (- i.e. he has so

many) Does he condone gullibility in all other devotees except you?” (identity not given so Moreno can’t attack him too, as he surely would!) Gerald Moreno went into peculiar mental contortions to try to deflect criticism from – and defend – the moon miracle Sathya Sai Baba predicted, but which never happened (due to cloud coverage!). Sai Baba proclaimed he would appear on the moon later one evening… thousands flocked to the Sai airport and were totally disappointed. Laughable?

scan of Sai Baba from a book

Sai Baba bending in this way is what inspired me to see his form on the Laurens van der Post cover.

Not strange therefore that so many who still believe in God – and especially in Sathya Sai Baba – see his ‘divine form’ in objects. Perhaps Moreno has too little real devotion to his would-be God? However, it is a function of the brain to see human features in all and any kinds of materials and things, only when one believes they have spiritual significance does it become dodgy.. but one has to be liberated from all notions of supernatural miraculous phenomena to appreciate that.

Gerald Moreno’s distortion of facts in his ego-driven war

Posted by robertpriddy on September 15, 2010

Scan of top parts of a Google search result showing more of frenetic Gerald Moreno's attack pages on Robert Priddy

Google search result

Gerald Moreno, the fraudulent ‘researcher’ who invents things and attributes them to others shows once again that his vituperative hatefulness dominates his psyche again when he concocts a story that Swami Ambikananda ‘lambasted’ Robert Priddy. He never did any such thing!  Swami Ambikananda was mostly a kindly if very difficult person, even though he dominated his followers who became like mice before a lion.  When I realised the absurdity of it all, I wrote him a letter in which I asked him a number of questions. He was unable to answer them and, because I questioned some of the statements he had made [and which events confirmed were evidently untruths] I broke off relations with him. He replied with a literally drivelling letter to me, and I never visited him again (I only met him about 5 times across about 8 years, though I was regularly in touch with many of his circle for many years). The fact is, he could simply not take it that anyone dared even question him as the ‘guru’. Much the same happened in the case of the one he named as president of his ashram, who left him after many years. Ambikananda was a very intuitive person with all the mental trappings of an Indian guru, but he was very authoritarian    He evidently felt hurt that I drove across his wild and unlikely claims and advice like a tank. I heard later from a friend that he had said of me that I am a ‘skeptic tank’.  He should have known better – as a Ramakrishna devotee – to speak unkindly of people behind their backs! Yes, Moreno!

Gerald Moreno takes two words, changes them into “septic skeptic tank”, and blows his invention up into a full story about a “lambasting” by Swami Ambikananda. That is merely Moreno’s own septic interpretation of me. In his pernicious attempts to undermine my reputation and character, Moreno’s ever-malicious and ‘septic’ wording alone shows the vindictiveness and from Google image searchobsession.

All but a very few who read Moreno’s views on Priddy will recognise how pathetic are his constant contrived allegations and false productions. The more he continues, the more trivial he becomes, and – due to his many web pages and blogs – the more prominent the controversy about Sathya Sai Baba becomes. He has no public support, not even from organization members (and they are well-advised in this if not in much else).

Moreno began his extensive libeling, and his many deceptions, contrivances and provable direct lies for some years before I – and some of the many others he has attacked likewise – began to respond with more than an occasional brief  comment. I have since found it necessary instead to make specific rebuttals of his hate pages against me, so see The full story of Moreno here

Apropos the reliability of Ambikananda as a soothsayer, one who knew him has written of a book about him: “And it faithfully records his extraordinary blend of Mauritian patois, inspired revelations, obscure ramblings and determinedly syncretic vision where Jesus appears at the front door and the Divine Mother Kali manifests through his body. Miracles and wonders abound, and a sense of bemusement that he was as little known as he was, given that other teachers with far bigger Egos strode the stage at the time.” (One thinks of Sathya Sai Baba, who Swewami Ambikananda visited one and sat at darshan in Brindavan).

That gives some idea of the kind of person Moreno evidently believes in and respects as percipient and wise… a fanatically religious ‘swami’ whose “obscure ramblings” were indeed sheer gabbledegook and whose often extremely incredulous beliefs were punctured by others. For example, he told of one person for saying the name ‘Yama’ because he thereby destroyed an entire world each time. The response was an endless stream of ‘Yama, Yama, Yama’! Ambikananda reportedly ran off in a frenzy and was found sleeping out next morning.

As to his being a swami of the Ramakrishna order, he was not above marrying (a French lady) having a daughter, and abandoning them soon afterward. Not exactly sanathana dharma!

Sai Baba amrita (nectar) at Srirangapatna orphanage

Posted by robertpriddy on September 4, 2010

When first I met Halagappa he told me his life story in 1985, I was the only visitor and he spent hours talking. At the time I was willing to trust devotees’ honesty, but I soon learned much greater circumspection. Halagappa’s uncle took him to Shirdi Sai Baba, who hit him on the head, he claimed. He said he complained to his uncle who told him he was a fool, that it was a blessing which would cure him. He said his uncle asked Shirdi Sai to look after his nephew in future, and Shirdi Sai agreed. This was also claimed in the Shirdi Sai literature about quite another person. Much later I worked out the dates. Shirdi Sai died in 1918, but when Halagappa told me this in 1985, he was about my age (then 50) and could not possibly have been 70 or more years old as he would have had to be had he ever med Shirdi Sai Baba. So he exposed himself to me as a liar. He did tell me how Sathya Sai Baba exposed him as the baggage thief he was and made him go to Mysore to start doing service looking after homeless children. He began to solicit donations for the temple based on reputed ‘materializations’ from a locked Sai Baba had once given him. He even added sugar to vibuti (dried cow dung called ‘holy ash’ in India) to make it more acceptable. He threw out his first wife and took a young women instead, and so Sathya Sai Baba never visited him or spoke to him again.

Before I went to the Srirangapatna place (still known appropriately as ‘The Thief’s Temple’) I had tasted amrit (so-called ‘nectar’ associated with the gods or Devas) The Danish youth who gave it to me and directed me to Halagappa said its unusual taste was ‘tea rose’, something I forgot until after I was disaffected and suddenly kept smelling amrit, until I realised it was from tea rose soap I had washed my hands with. Tea rose essence is extremely strong – has long been made in India – and a few drops will give a liter of sugar water a very heady perfume. A drop or jasmine or sandalwood essence might sometimes be used as well.

Halagappa was already receiving large donations, later including mine too, but the young orphans there were in rags and had no books or other visible goods. His young wife, however, wore diamonds and gold. Local neighbours informed a Western journalist I know well that Halagappa was prostituting the boys and girls there. He had agreements with taxi chauffeurs in Bangalore who brought many Sai Baba visitors and those of unlimited blind faith who are always seeking excitement and miracles to his ‘temple’.

However, few take seriously Sai Baba’s well-known warning:  “in Mysore state there are some who distribute amrith, vibhuuthi and other articles announcing that they are showering from their pictures at their places… Devotees should keep far away from such places and persons” (Sathya Sai Speaks vol. 10, p. 186). His journal has twice warned about the Mysore orphanage and money collection. Halagappa is still a thief, only on a far grander scale.

Sathya Sai Baba said further: “In Mysore State there are some who distribute amrith, vibuthi (holy ash) … they do this free for some weeks, and later, they start begging for money, like any common mendicant! This is a sin…” [Sathya Sai Speaks Vol 11. p. 146]. The office at Prashanthi told me Halagappa has never been authorised by them or Sai Baba to collect funds!

Sathya Sai Speaks Vol 10 – p 186f refers to the orphanage near Mysore:: “Some happenings in Mysore and Madras are to be drastically condemned… I never allot in this manner, nor do I hand over my powers to anyone…” and “They could carry a begging bowl and go from door to door; that at least will save them from a life of deceit and sacrilege.” This describes Halagappa well.

Sathya Sai Baba's warning against Halagappa, Srirangapatnam orphanageIn Sai Baba’s official journal, Sanathana Sarathi, Feb. 1988, p. 51 we read:-

“THE WARNING , AGAIN  We have received enquiries from overseas devotees as to whether they can make donations to organisations in India carrying Sri Sathya Sai Baba’s name and claiming to run an orphanage at Srirangapatman (in Karnataka)… etc. Recognised Sathya Sai Organizations are not permitted to solicit donations from any source. (etc.) THE EDITOR

Gullible devotees pretend to know that the amrit and vibuthi there are miraculous. They have no proof because Halagappa could easily get an objective evaluation by scientists, but it is NOT in his interests! It is based on belief, auto-suggestion and strong longing to see miracles, their having completely lost any investigative spirit and become incapable of truly critical questioning where Sai Baba and all related phenomena are concerned.

Sathya Sai Baba Drinking Water Project

Posted by robertpriddy on September 3, 2010

Basava Premanand exposed the controlling influence of Sathya Sai Baba and his minions in many State affairs – also putting Sai Baba beyond the law of the land:-

“Let us discuss about the Sri Sathya Sai Drinking Water Project which was inaugurated by Ex-Prime Minister P.V. Narasimha Rao and Indian President S.D. Sharma, Newspapers vied with each other to tom-tom the benevolence and greatness of Satya Sai Baba.” (see short video clip of the inauguration)

“TIMES OF INDIA Dated 3.12.95 came with the following news under the heading “Basu Waves Tax for Sai Trust.” The left government has granted sales tax exemption to the tune of Rs.60 lakhs to an organisation run by Satya Sai Baba. The government decision was communicated to the Sales Tax Commissioner on November 11 by a joint secretary in the department of finance for issuing the official notification.” ‘ Informed sources revealed that Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust’s unsigned petition for exemption of central sales tax leviable on purchases made in West Bengal for a drinking water supply project in Andhra Pradesh was placed before Chief Minister Jyoti Basu in October by Padma Khastigir, leader of the Congress opposition in Calcutta Municipal Corporation and a Former Judge of Calcutta High Court. The official added that the Trust has been granted sales tax exemption by 3 other state governments. The Trust’s petition to Mn Basu stated that it was unable to bear the financial burden of paying sales tax and pleaded for exemption on humanitarian grounds. An official in the CM’s secretariat said that the concession “although unprecedented in the states has been made in the peopIe’s interest…”

“With all the fan fare in news papers, television and radio all over the world the people believed the magnanimity of Satya Sai Baba. As the Prime Minister and the President had inaugurated and the water gushed out from a silver tap to a silver vessel and the audience saw the water gushing out they all believed that the parched throats of the people of Anantapur District have been quenched by giving them pure water. -No one enquired as to what really happened. Immediately the water flowed through the pipes, the pipes burst at the starting points of the water supply, and the parched earth with the dried blood of the six watchmen of Sai Baba, got satisfied after quenching its thirst. When the president knew of the real fact after his inauguration, he fell sick, President Shankar Dayal Sharma was slightly indisposed on Wednesday night, according to member of the presidential entourage reported UNI. Dr. Sharma, who was here for the 70°‘ birthday celebrations of Sri Satya Sai Baba, has suffered from a bout of pain following ‘inflammation of his knee’ and could not attend a scheduled function here”

“Though billions of cm water was wasted and big pools were formed near the pipe lines no newspaper, or the TV or the Radio had the courage to publish about the fraud. In April only one newspaper in Telugu “Vaartha” published a series of articles for 9 days on the Sri Sathya Sai Drinking Water Supply Project where Sai Baba’s pipe did not deliver water to the parched people of Anantapur. lmmediately after getting the information l rushed to Anantapur and on 21” April and 23” April made a video him. According to Times of lndia dt.3.12.1995 the judge Padma Khastagir as a self-confessed Sai`Baba acolyte for 25 years, frequently visiting the godman’s ashram. Her four-storey house in Southend Park is named Sai Sudha after the controversial godman. Such a judge to lile an unsigned petition for sales tax exemption and the Chief Minister to exempt the trust from paying sales tax is gross negligence and proves that Sai Baba is above Indian Laws. This act of the judge is a shame to the chair she had occupied as a judge so also the Chief Minister of West Bengal ordering exemption on the basis that Sathya Sai Trust was unable to bear the financial burden of paying sales tax and pleaded exemption on “humanitarian grounds” while it was the richest trust in the world. As law is said to be same for every one, I am wondering if the state and central government would exempt the people who are below the poverty line from all taxes?”  [1995]

[from the book  ‘Failed Sabotage by SSB through Gerald Moreno’  publ. by Basava Premanand  – p. 230]

OTHER SOURCES ON THE RAYALASEEMA WATER PROJECT
Ramana Baba, also known as Muz Murray, reported to me:- Investigators however, maintain that these claims have another side to them. It was found that the authorities had previously refused permission for a water pipe solely for the private use of the ashram, unless other villages on the way were also supplied, as many in the region were without water. Permission to lay 2000 km of pipeline to the ashram was only granted after accepting this proviso. But even though some of the villages of the Rayalaseema region through which the pipeline runs are now getting good water, others say that half the pipelines are blocked or badly fitted and they are still not getting a supply.

SATHYA SAI BABA AND THE WATER PROJECTS – FULLER FACTS COVERED-UP
The water projects in Rayalaseema, Andhra Pradesh, Medak and Mahabubnagar, and the canal repair for Chennai financed from donations made by followers of Sathya Sai Baba (and subsidised by government) were named after Sathya Sai Baba. They are no doubt admirable for those who suffer water shortages and now receive more than before. Much was achieved, while much went wrong, and no one connected with Sathya Sai Baba is allowed to mention anything negative about these projects, which are widely promoted as ‘Divine Miracles’. This article is therefore simply to help correct some of this totally one-sided propaganda. I repeat, this is not to denigrate the good intentions of those who donated (including myself!) nor whatever positive results have been achieved. Rather, it is simply to counterbalance the mendacious aspects of Sathya Sai baba projects and what most of the Indian media have become afraid to publish concerning anything critical of what government-protected Sathya Sai Baba says or does and so contributes to many public misconceptions.

Dictator Idi Amin – Sai Baba’s warm recollections

Posted by robertpriddy on August 26, 2010

In a discourse he held on Christmas Day (25/12/2006) Sathya Sai Baba recounted his visit to East Africa – including Uganda – in 1968. During this he spoke most affirmatively about the brutal despot and Dictator Idi Amin (and this on Christmas Day of all days of the year!). Idi Amin was a self-admitted murderer who had at least five wives and 23 children (plus hundreds of ‘lady friends’), who fed enemies to crocodiles, reportedly kept some of his victims in his deep freezer, and – according to persistent reports of his staff who escaped – even tasted human flesh!
Sai Baba’s praises of Amin were eagerly promoted on the worldwide broadcasts of propagandistic Radio Sai and on the Sai Baba official website by his main propagandist, Dr. G. Venkataraman (also former contributor to India’s nuclear bomb ‘himsa technology’), who thus also evidently accepts that Idi Amin was a Sai-devotee of some stature! His lack of judgement matches that of his ailing Lord God, the evidently failing Sai Baba. That was too much even from a myth-deluded and truth-challenged ‘scientist’ who avoids all important criticisms to his cover-up and has never dared tell anything he knows of Sai Baba’s well-known private doings and the many reliable allegations about them. Perhaps he admires Idi Amin for his lead in such censorship and cover-up? Here is what he wrote about Sai Baba’s fond reminiscences in his 2006 Xmas Day discourse:-

Excerpt from official Sathya Sai propaganda pages on the web
COMMENT: Note how the besotted writer (no doubt Dr. G. Venkataraman, who decides on all publicity matters anyhow) of the above claims that not only people but the animals (wild) of Africa are “devoted to Swami”. Sathya Sai Baba has encouraged this codswallop in line with his original claim to be the creator of the Universe. “They raised their trunks in veneration and paid obeisance to Swami” we are told. But how did the writer know what the elephants were thinking? Well, the animals would have to worship their creator, wouldn’t they? It is laughable in the extreme.

The enthusiasm about the “moment of moments” when Sai Baba “related how Mr. Idi Amin was very fond of him” – and how Sai Baba gave him double daily doses of darsan!” Amin’s devotion “melted the heart of Swami” (I ask you – or was it mutual flattery?) – yes, this most horrific of ghastly rapists, torturers, killers, the sweet-hearted Idi Amin had to be given the blessing of another day’s stay from Swami! Sai gave apples to the crocodiles which were too”captivated by the divine darsan” even to eat the apples. Probably crocs to not like or eat apples – but now, Amin knew their tastes better than that. He gave them human flesh!
Sai Baba propounded that there is no feeling of hatred in these animal (which is reasonable as they are predators naturally) but – and this is another ‘moment of moments’ in Sathya Sai Baba’s down-putting of his fellow-men and -women, therefore “The noble qualities in these animals are not even to be found in human being”! All this is sheer comedy, but it has a very sinister message if you stop to think about it

Swami’s Christmas Discourse 2006

“Some years ago, when I went on a tour to East Africa, several Africans came to Me for darshan. Each one of them prayed, “Swami! Please spend some time with us”. There were a few hundred children among them. All of them had their vision glued to My form. You know the then President of Uganda, Mr. Idi Amin. He was a military officer. He was young and very energetic then. He was tall and hefty. He had a number of wives. He was very fond of Swami. He used to have the darshan of Swami both in the morning and evening. I was very short before that giant. The sight of Me beside him was like the view of a deer by the side of a camel. People were surprised at his love and devotion towards Swami. He was well educated and was the President of his country, Uganda. He was known for his stern nature. Such a person shed tears when I started on My return journey. He told Me, “Swami! I have never shed tears since my birth. Today, I am very sad and have a feeling of separation because Swami is leaving us.” He covered his face with a handkerchief so that others may not notice his feelings. His hands were very strong. He held My hands firmly, expressing thanks for My visit. He also prostrated before Me. He held My feet so tightly that it became difficult for Me later to climb the ladder for boarding the aeroplane. At the time of My departure, he pleaded with Me “Swami, I will surely come to have Your darshan shortly. Otherwise, You please visit our country again. I cannot bear the separation from You.”
The situation in Uganda then was such that he could not leave the country. During My stay in Uganda, he planned to host a dinner for Me in his house. He therefore came to the house of Dr. Patel to personally enquire about the arrangements to be made in this regard. He collected all information as to how to organise the dinner, what should be the menu, who are to be invited as guests, etc. He arranged for brand new utensils for cooking various dishes. He also arranged for new tumblers for the guests. Finally, when I visited his palace for the dinner, all his wives stood in rows on either side and greeted Me with veneration. He introduced them to Me, one by one. I stayed in Kampala, the capital of Uganda. The last day was Guru Purnima, an important occasion for Sai devotees. I had earlier promised to return to Bombay by that date. But, the Africans did not allow Me. They fell at My feet and prayed: “Bhagawan! Please spend this holy day with us”, with tears in their eyes. In answer to their prayers I stayed back to spend Guru Purnima with them.”

“On that day, they wished to take photos with Me. I told them that they might silently pray in their hearts so that their request would be fulfilled. To their joy, each one of them found a photo with Swami standing beside them. The devotion of Africans is indescribable. Even now, I feel very happy when I think of their devotion. My next visit was to the country of Tanzania. There also, everyone who came to have My darshan felt very happy. Ladies and gents came in large numbers to welcome Me, wearing their traditional dresses. They danced in ecstasy on seeing Me. On the day of departure, just before the plane took off, all of them stood in front of the aircraft and pleaded with Me, “Swami! You should not go from here. You must be here only.” How can I accede to their request? I had to leave. The pilots and other officers in the airport counselled them saying, “You should not obstruct Swami’s aircraft like this. This is not good.” They then moved away. I was observing all this from the window of the aircraft. Finally, when the plane started to take off, many of them nearly fainted in grief. That scene was fresh in My memory till I reached Bombay.”

“During that trip, I visited three countries – Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania. They are all neighbouring countries. I was very happy and felt deeply touched at the devotion of African people. During My return journey, the aircraft was filled to the brim with the articles gifted by the African devotees. What are those gifts any way? They brought all sorts of articles like dinner sets and tea sets in gold colour. They are still with Me. We are making use of them while hosting high dignitaries like Prime Ministers and Governors.”

Rumours about Sai Baba’s intervention to delay expulsion of Asians from Uganda rebutted.
Idi Amin acting on God\s orders… his guru Sai Baba?

Sathya Sai Baba, Dr. V. Venkataraman and Idi Amin apparently make good bedfellows, according to the arm appreciation of Amin by Sai Baba in a Christmas Day discourse, as reported eagerly by Venkataraman. This was indicated by a photographic image made of the happy threesome, which was not a fake, but a construction to bring home the relationship, as was made clear when it was posted. See this image and the controversy it cause at The last King of Scotland – God’s orders and Sai Baba The Spirit of Christmas

Supreme Court of India cover-up: petition ad Sathya Sai Baba rejected

Posted by robertpriddy on August 13, 2010

Evidence and documentary proof of failed petition to the Supreme Court of India. The attempt to prosecute Sathya Sai Baba a decade ago was rejected in a most corrupt manner by a Sai Baba worshipping judiciary:-

Dear All,

In what has been described by all observers as a “shocking” decision, the Supreme court refused to even hear the petition yesterday.
The Judge who heard it last week in the preliminary , Justice Agarwal (who said “these things have been going on for decades” ) was scheduled to be hearing the petition. In the last minute, he was suddenly transferred to another case by the Chief justice Anand, a Sai Baba folower, who appointed his right hand man, a corrupt judge called Lahoti to hear the case.

As soon as Kamini Jaiswal and Prashant Kumar started opening the case, this judge started posing all sorts of absolutely stupid questions, with NO LEGAL BASIS.

Here is what happened as recounted to me by Prashant Kumar.

************************************************

Kamini Jaiswal : May I proceed with the case introduction ?

Judge Lahoti : Wait….there is a problem with the affidavit of the petitioner, I want it clarified.

Kamini : There is absolutely nothing wrong, the affidavit is perfectly fine.

Judge Lahoti : Why is the affidavit dated April 5th 2001 and you are coming up only now with the petition , in May ?

Kamini : The affidavit was signed by the petitioner and had to be mailed, along with his petition. The petition had to be mailed to him first so that he could sign it.

Judge Lahoti : How can that take more than a month ? This is an old affidavit , then.

Kamini : If you notice the address of the petitioner, he is in the United States, and mail takes a few days to reach there and then back here to India. We filed the petition more than 10 days back, citing reasons for urgent mention, and according to the court order, the case was posted for today. That is why we are here now.

Judge Lahoti : Well…it seems that the petitioner is in USA,it is my mistake. Anyway there are other reasons I want to clarify this petition. Why are you approaching the Supreme court ? We don’t want to hear this petition, please go to the High court in Andhra Pradesh.

Kamini : The reasons are clearly mentioned in the petition, and we are filing the petition under Article 32 of the constitution, which gives us the right to come to the Supreme court.

Judge Patnaik (second judge) : Why was the petition not filed in the Andhra High court under Article 226 ? Go to the High court.

Kamini : That is what I am coming to, Article 32 and Article 226, both grant the same rights in the Supreme court and High court respectively…..either option can be pursued. If I may proceed with my argument, I will explain why…

Judge Lahoti : No… go to the High court…

Kamini : Can I at least have a hearing ?

Judge Patnaik : ok.. go on…

(Kamini begins her arguments, and starts detailing all the media reports about Sai Baba, the statements of sexual molestation, etc….. when she reaches the point about UNESCO…. she is interrupted)

Judge Patnaik : This court doesn’t want to hear this petition, go to the Andhra High court.

Kamini : But I have not even come to the point explaining why we choose to file under Article 32 in Supreme court…

Judge Lahoti : You can do the same under Article 226 in Andhra Court…

Kamini : But that exactly is what I was going to say, about why I cannot do that there, can I please continue ?

Judge Patnaik : Why are you here, why don’t you go to Andhra ?

Kamini : It is clearly stated in the petition, and I am coming to that…

Judge Lahoti : what grounds ?

Kamini : The respondent Sai Baba has a 60,000 million rupee empire in Andhra Pradesh, with total control over the entire state government… how can we go there ? There are also lot of other political influences …

Judge Patnaik : No, we are not going to allow this petition here, go to the Andhra High court..

Kamini : But if this was the issue, we could have been informed 10 days back, we were asked to come today…

Judge Patnaik : We are going to dismiss the petition.

Kamini : On what grounds ?

Judge Lahoti : We do not have to cite any reason for dismissing it..

Kamini : Can you at least give a ruling “with liberty to go to Andhra High court” ?

Judge Patnaik : No I am not going to do that.

Kamini : But that is what you were saying all along , if you want us to go to the Andhra High court, and if that is the reason you are not hearing this petition, can you please put it in writing ? We can then take it to the Andhra High court .

Judge Patnaik : No , I just asked you why you are here, and said that you should be in the Andhra High court. I am not going to include that in the ruling.

Kamini : Can we at least withdraw the petition from this court, and approach the Andhra High court ?

Judge Lahoti : you could approach the Andhra High court if you want to, but we are going to call this petition “dismissed”, and not allow you to withdraw it.

Judge Patnaik : Petition dismissed, no reasons are given by this court. That is the ruling .

*************************************

As we can clearly see, this “hearing” was rigged and blatantly violating all legal norms.

The whole proceeding took less than 10 min… with the judges constantly interrupting Kamini Jaiswal…. and repeatedly raising irrelevant questions, without giving her a chance to explain the legal reasons why she was representing in the supreme court.

That judge Lahoti is notorious as a “Chief justice Anand’s hit man”, who had been cleverly appointed at the last minute, replacing Justice Barucha and Justice Agarwal, who heard it last week.

It is very very obvious why they were so eager to “dismiss” the petition, without a complete hearing, and also not give a ruling that we could approach Andhra High court, although they stated it orally.

They want us to go to Andhra High court, and everybody knows what will happen there. There will not even be a formality of a hearing in Andhra.

The scan that proves definitively that Sathya Sai Baba was protected by the Supreme Court of India and could not be tried, let alone convicted.

Comment:
Worse yet, shortly after their rejection of the Petition lodged by Hari Sampath, the Supreme Court of India deleted all public documentation of it having been made. The British Ambassador to India attempted to get confirmation of the rejection by the Supreme Court but there was no record of it! Nonetheless, a copy of the formal rejection paper was preserved and a scan of that attested document is here:-

At that time, the Governor of Andhra Pradesh had once been none less than the private driver for Sathya Sai Baba ! One can imagine the chances of a petition to the AP High Court. In a mail from Basava Premanand to the Danish film director Øjvind Kyrø, who produced the Danish National TV Documentary ‘Seduced’ (by Sai Baba), he stated:

“Regarding murders in 6.6.1993 I went up to the Supreme Court and though the apex court ordered the police to take action against the accused as per the investigation by CB-CID the case was closed by the Andhra Government. Now that the government is changed and the present Chief Minister and Governor of Andhra Pradesh are fans of mine. We have put in a petition to get it opened and the Governor has agreed to meet me.”

However, despite sustained efforts to re-open the case, Premanand’s petition was totally disregarded right up until his death last year. This shows the pull that Sathya Sai Baba and his minions had in the corridors of power in India, especially the top of the Indian Government (which they still have).

The ‘Abode of Peace’ ashram- the murder victims

Posted by robertpriddy on August 12, 2010

V.J. Ram (aka Janakiram) was a senior Indian CID officer who received the President’s Police Medal for having solved many difficult cases. His book on ‘The Godmen of India’ is extremely revealing, especially as regards the long history of criminal incidents connected to Sathya Sai Baba and his coterie. His sensational book is about several ‘godmen’ in India into whom he has investigated and found to be bogus and surrounded by criminal allegations with much circumstantial evidence to uphold them.

Sexual abuse complaints with impunity against Sathya Sai Baba Serious allegations put forward in signed letters to the Sathya Sai Organization by Mrs. Payne in 1980 and by Alaya Rahm on a BBC documentary still stand, as they were never legally pursued as libel by Sathya Sai Baba or any of his institutions. Were he innocent, he could with his Government and judiciary behind him, get a fair trial in India. Yet he dare not try to clear his name because  the full facts and testimonials – and affidavits held in London – plus witnesses claiming they were abused by him could then stand forth under foreign ambassadorial protection.
