Nithyananda claims he is Ramakrishna reborn!

Posted by robertpriddy on December 17, 2010

The Swami who is indicted for rape and ‘unnatural sex’ is now claiming to be the reincarnation of the famous supposed ‘avatar’, Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa. It does not bother him, evidently, that it emerged in later years that Ramakrishna was most likely involved in homo-erotic acts.

BANGALORE: The tainted Swamiji Nithyananda calls himself an incarnation of Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa and wears saree to dress up like a ‘devi’ (godess), says the chargesheet filed by the CID against the swami in court.

Nithyananda who has been accused in a sex scandal reportedly also had sex with selected female disciples.

According to a source in the CID, he performs the Nithyananda Jayanti (his birthday celebrations) at his Bidadi Ashram every year in December.

On December 31, he dresses up like ‘devi’ and gives ‘devi darshan’ to a restricted audience, said the source.

Nithyananda also claims to be Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa who wore saree to perform pooja.

Nithyananda reportedly asked his disciples to come to his quarters for “special blessings” in private and asked them to perform oral sex on him, the source said.

The swami reportedly claimed that he was an incarnation of god and that he wanted to do many great things for humanity. Sources said he claimed that being in samadhi let him detach his soul from his body and by being physically intimate with a female, he got back his soul in the body.

He also assured the disciple that she was helping him restore his soul back into his body and doing great service to mankind, a CID officer said.

He also said in his birthday celebrations that he was going to live a long life, 125 years in his physical body, sources said.

from the guruphiliac weblog

“He named many great past masters and claimed that all had relationship with women for the same reason,” said the CID officer. “Nithyananda, who was using disciples for his lust in the name of Shiva, devi, etc. cannot be compared to Ramarishna Paramhansa. That great Guru Paramhansa had guided women to become enlightened in the right way, seeing and making them their Gods and Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa actually elevated his wife to the status of God.”

The CID officer said this tainted swami “was a fraud who exploited his disciples in the name of spiritual enlightenment”.

The swami, who called his female disciples as daasi, Paravathi or other names and called himself the aaster, Shiva, Dakshina Murthy, etc. was exploiting them, he said. During interrogation, he had admitted that he had sex with more than a dozen devotees, including men. He also told the officers that there were many devotees who stood in queue (women in the left and men in the right) and I used to hug them, said sources.

Paramahamsa Ramakrishna’s closest disciple and major promoter, Swami Vivekananda, was allegedly reborn in Sri Lanka (according to Sathya Sai Baba – see here). All these claims of rebirth must be taken with a far more effective antidote than a pinch of salt. Sathya Sai Baba, however, exceeds everyone else in his claims of having been Vishnu, Rama, Krishna and diverse other supposedly spiritual figures in Indian history. He lays claim to being God Incarnate in this age, the Deity of Deities at whose feet every prayer to any god eventually arrives!  For good measure he has announced that he is the Father who sent Jesus! That he has so stated is no longer so eagerly propagated by his followers, rather they are covered-up in that key documents have been removed from the Internet by officials in his Organization.

Vishnu come to save the world, as Sai Baba?

For the student boys who sleep in his bedroom, it must be most awesome to be subjected to what many claim he does - the very Lord and Creator of the Universe taking his pleasure with them?

The claims made by Sathya Sai Baba as seen in the scan (above right)  amounts to the claim that there is no distinction between himself and the greatest divine incarnations of Hindu mythical scripture. Their tasks are all the same, saving humanity – though the means used and physical incarnations differ.

His constantly repeated belief in the literal truth of myths with which the Ramayana and the Mahabharata are packed – and his usurpation of the identity of all the great figures in those myths – Vishnu, Rama, Krishna, [as well as claiming to have been Jesus’ Father, Kabir and Shirdi Sai Baba] will simply never wash with enlightened humanity. Nor will the religionists of the mainstream religions ever come to consider this remotely likely – for Islam totally denies the possibility of God being incarnate, radical Christians see only Jesus as a Divinity and so forth.

Sai Baba and inanimate cloth objects come to life?

The “literally incredible case of the weeping saris”: Sathya Sai Baba has proclaimed – and is hailed as such – that he is the only (and fullest possible) reincarnation of Vishnu, Rama and  Krishna here today. Among the supposed evidence for this a somewhat bottomless pit of mythological and fantastic stories are presented about him. Among the most fanciful and incredible (except to the credulous Sai follower, which I never was to any such degree) is found in the interviews of January 1968 taped by Dr. John Hislop. That naively trusting lifelong seeker of gurus, who had gone from one to another his whole adult life, asked Sai Baba:

“Swami, something has happened here. Water is around this box. These saris will get wet. (Swami removed the cover of the box and those of us who were standing there could see that the edges of the saris were wet. The cardboard box with four saris in it was lying on a table at the Dharmakshetra in Bombay. Swami had selected 96 saris for distribution to some lady volunteers, and of the 100 brought for His inspection, four were replaced in the box to be returned later to the merchant. The table was not close to any source of water, and Hislop, several other men, and Swami had been standing there from the time the saris were examined one by one, by Swami.)

Sai: “The saris are weeping because Swami has rejected them. Now, I will take them.”

Hislop: Swami! “How could that be? Does Swami say that inanimate onjects have injured feelings and can weep?”

Sai: “Inanimate objects are also capable of feeling joy and grief. When the bridge towards Lanka was built by the monkeys so that Rama could march to Ravana’s kingdom where Sita was held captive, one last mountain peak was carried to the bridge site. But it was too late. There was no need for it. At this circumstance the mountain shed tears of anguish, and news of this was quickly taken to Rama. His compassion was great, and he sent word that the mountain should no longer sorrow, that he would surely use it on a future occasion. In the Avathara of Krishna, it was this very mountain peak, the Govadhana Peak, which the youth, Krishna, lifted on his finger to shelter the cowherds of Gokul from Indra’s deluge of rain.”

Sa Baba endorses this as literal truth! But this image is perhaps the only 'documentary evidence' available

Sai Baba views this as literal truth! Click on the above image

Hislop: “Swami! This great drama of Rama and Krishna and the mountain peak has been recapitulated here in Bombay on this day before our very eyes… (etc..)

Sai: “Yes. And it is also the self-same Rama and the self-same Krishna who is here this day.”

Does this ‘animated sari’ story require comment? It certainly seems it does, if only because I have met Western devotees who actually believe it, apart from many misguided Hindu Sai-devotees. This claim is in stark conflict with other Sai Baba ‘teachings’ on the inherent differences between the various realms of beings. One often sees how Sathya Sai Baba ‘tests’ his followers by seeing just how far into blind faith he can push the credulity of followers. It seems that only those he can are given top positions, such as Dr. John Hislop, who even had some kind of Western Ph.D!   Hislop is no serious thinker, witnessed by the way he retells any fantastic claims of Sai Baba with zealous relish and senseless faith throughout his writings. He must have been a very suitably suggestible subject for hypnosis by Sai Baba, such as when he thought he saw Sai Baba’s face turn a deep blue colour when travelling in a car with him.  One would he had at least qualified for the acme of Sai Baba’s promises – the (vague, undefined promise of ‘liberation’ from the perpetual wheel of death and rebirth?  But no, despite Sai Baba’s earlier promise to him of that, we read in Hislop’s last book that he was told by Baba that he must be reborn again, even though he had seen the so-called lingam emergence many times (which Sai Baba promises qualifies all who see it to moksha/nirvana)  and even though he had worked ceaselessly to promote Sathya Sai Baba for decades! As thanks… no grace for him, but only dis-grace!

Sai Baba on two boys reborn as his dogs

Posted by robertpriddy on September 5, 2007

from ‘Conversations…’ J. Hislop
page 114 of Hislop’s book (old. Ed.) and 125 (new ed.)

In the early 1970s, Dr. John Hislop interviewed Sai Baba at length.  These interviews were recorded and published in his book ‘Conversations with Bhagavan Sri Sathya Sai Baba’ (Sai Publications Trust), which became the authoritative popular source book for many about Sai Baba and his various teachings. It is packed with ‘incredible’ stories and bizarre statements by Sai Baba.

Reborn boys?

According to Indian scriptural beliefs in reincarnation, ‘merging’ (with the Infinite) is a process which never leads to rebirth. Also, rebirth of former human beings as animals is either rejected as impossible or considered a punishment for horrendous deeds in life. Two so blessed as to be close friends of an avatar could not have such a fate.  Hislop makes clear: “Those childhood companions, they must have been quite special. Was their further destiny unusual also?”, to which Sai Baba replies “they merged in me”. these boys had been reborn as dogs and had died under car wheels in the mid 1950s, why did Sai Baba so signally fail to mention it to Hislop? In his Dasara discourse of October 2000, Sai Baba retells the story and contradicts what he had told Hislop. Typical of his forgetfulness and outright fabrications!

Sai Baba said on October 1st 2000:- “I had two dogs, Lilly and Billy in the Old Mandir. Jack and Jill were born to Lilly. The two were none other than Ramesh and Suresh come again to stay near Me. One would sleep at my head and the other at My feet. They used to get up at My slightest movement.””The next morning when the driver started the car, he ran over Jack’s spine. From there, Jack dragged itself through the river towards the Mandir. The washerman, Subbanna, who used to look after the Mandir, told me that for some reason Jack was coming whining. I replied that I knew and walked up to the Mandir gate. Crying aloud, Jack fell at My feet and gave up its life. Jack was buried behind the Mandir. Jill too passed away after a few days. I built a Samadhi for them and planted a Tulasi plant over it. It remained for a long time. When I was at Bangalore recently, in order to extend the Kalyana Mandapam, the engineers razed it. Thus after spending their next lives as dogs, they finally merged in Me.” “Without Raju, Ramesh and Suresh refused to sit on the bench or stay in the classroom. Ramesh ran and jumped into a well giving up his life. Suresh kept crying, “Raju, have you left us! Raju, have you left us!” He became mad and was admitted to the mental hospital in Bangalore. His parents prayed to Me to go and see him once. Swami told them, “The present Suresh is different from the earlier one. There is no point in My coming to see him.” After a few days, he too died.”
