Floods Ravage Puttaparthi: Late Sathya Sai Baba Does Not Tame Them This Time

Posted by eileenweed on November 28, 2021

Puttaparthi Main Road, 18 November 2021

Puttaparthi has been in the news lately due to unprecedented flooding ravaging the area. Though huge pictures of Sai Baba still hang throughout the town, the false god who is now dead, has been no help to the suffering residents. That too, right at the time of his annual birthday celebrations on November 23rd!

In fact, this would have been his 96th birthday, the one where he was supposed to actually physically die, or ‘consciously shed his body’, like he boastfully predicted over decades. As we knew, he was not divine, didn’t really know his actual death day, and thus, caught unaware, he succumbed to multiple organ failure on April 24, 2011. There is sufficient proof to assume that he was brain dead long before that date, but the authorities probably picked that Easter day to pull the plugs on his life support. (Or, he perhaps died before that date and they waited to announce it – there is proof of the coffin being ordered weeks before.)

Sathya Sai Baba death date in serious doubt
https://robertpriddy.wordpress.com/2011/04/28/sathya-sai-baba-death-date-in-serious-doubt/

‘Taming the Flood’

Now, devotees might counterargue that whereas their late guru had power over nature he seldom chose to exercise this superhuman quality. Floods were no rare event during his lifetime either. In fact, during an especially heavy season, as far back as 1973, he purportedly ‘tamed the flood’ just before the whole ashram was to be submerged. In fact, the waters allegedly withdrew immediately after Sai Baba mumbled some words, asking the river to calm down, according to folklore that is (See: (Sathya Sai Baba) Taming the Floods). Why he chose not to help this time around remains a mystery. I would say: because he could nor did back then. The waters just happened to recede. No miracle involved. And anyhow, a dead man isn’t able to reach beyond the grave now, is he? The only saving grace being that at least villagers in peril were taken into the premises of Prashanti Nilayam, back then and this time around.

Introducing the Latest ‘Subtle Sai’ – Achintya Amma!

Posted by eileenweed on October 6, 2021

The latest devotee who claims Sathya Sai Baba is speaking through her – a pretender of a pretender! – is another former student of his college – but this time, it’s a woman! This lady, Achintya (which means “beyond comprehension”) Amma, claims to be getting messages direct from her dead pedophile guru.

She graduated from the Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning in Anantapur and lives in Bangalore with her husband Mr. Siva Prasad, a graduate of the sai college in Puttaparthi, as detailed in a Facebook post on ‘Sai Bliss’.

A somewhat blurry and jumpy video posted online shows Achintya Amma garlanded by devotees and given ‘pada puja,’ worship of her feet, which she seems very delighted indeed, to receive.

Achintya Amma joins a crowded field of already over a dozen ‘Prema Sais’ (supposedly the third and final sai incarnation-to-come) and many more imitators of sai baba, which has proven to be a very lucrative get-rich-quick scheme for the industrious people who, like the original sathya sai baba, were corrupt enough not to have a conscience.

Sai Baba Had to Study Singing Like A Regular Student

Posted by eileenweed on March 15, 2021

On the occasion of the birth centenary of the famous singing brothers BV Raman and BV Lakshmanan, there was an article with the following quote:

“Sathya Sai Baba learnt music from the brothers, which he openly acknowledged in many forums. The brothers stayed in Puttaparthi for about four years, during which period B.V. Raman composed as many as 37 songs on Sathya Sai Baba, which includes the famous aarti song, ‘Om Jai Jagadeesha Hare’.”

Do you think sai baba was omniscient? Then you are sadly mistaken! It is well known that he learnt magic tricks and slight-of-hand from his grandfather, and the family used to make a little money by performing magic and drama shows in the village. That is where he learned many stories from the scriptures too.

Now we learn that he took singing lessons from the two highly qualified brothers, probably with rich financial incentives for the brothers! They stayed four whole years in Puttaparthi and composed many songs for him – useful to use for decades as propaganda!

The twin brothers were born in a town called Bhavani in 1921. B.V. Lakshmanan passed away in 1996 and B.V. Raman passed away in 2006.

A teaching method of their own
R. Vijayalakshmi and R. Chitra
UPDATED: MARCH 11, 2021 18:39 IST

Every student who trained under the twin brothers, B.V. Raman and B.V. Lakshmanan, cannot forget their gentle voices and ever-smiling faces along with the encouraging words, “With practice you can sing” (paada paada varum), that boosted the confidence of young learners.

Our beloved gurus had many disciples and their teaching method was very unique.

We still remember the day when we first attended Raman Sir’s class. We were in our teens and were straightaway taught the pallavis of one varnam and three other kritis. Sir then said, “This is all for the day”.

Since this kind of approach to teaching music was unheard of, we were worried and tense. Looking at the expressions on our faces, he understood what was going through our minds. He assured us that we will soon get accustomed to this method. He took away our notebooks saying that he would write the lyrics himself (both the brothers had beautiful handwriting) and give it to us in the next class.

While leaving the class, we tried to recollect the songs he had taught, at least a few lines. We felt nervous without the notebook in our hands and wondered how we would practise at home.

The next class, sir had written down the songs sans notation, but did not give the notebook to us to take a look at the lyrics.

With his encouragement and support, we learnt for 15 years without any notes, notations and recordings. Even today, every disciple of the brothers will be able to recall whatever they were taught without referring to any notebook.

In 1938, the brothers at the age of 17, began their formal music training under S. Srinivasa Rao. They also learnt from Veena Krishnamachariar and Kulitalai Krishnaswami Rao. Their lessons in Kathakali padas were under Venkatakrishna Bhagavatar, the elder brother of Palghat Rama Bhagavatar.

It so happened that once Tiger Varadachari had a chance to listen to the brothers sing, and suggested that they join the Sangeeta Bhooshanam course in the Music College at Annamalai University in Chidambaram, of which he was the principal. With support from Tiger Varadachari, who allowed the brothers to stay with him apart from offering them scholarship, the brothers completed the course in 1943. It was also the same year when Varadachari relinquished his post to join Kalakshetra in Chennai.

While in college, the brothers had the privilege to learn from Tiger Varadachari. They came to Chennai after completing their Sangeeta Bhooshanam course to work with Varadachari at Kalakshetra.

From 1943 to 1945, the brothers played an important role in assisting Rukmini Devi in many of her productions.

Unique approach
The brothers were unique in whatever they did. For instance, they began learning music only at the age of 17 and performing at the age of 35. They would make every performance stand out — a full fledged concert of Muthuswami Dikshitar’s rare compositions, a concert of just Thiruppugazh songs, a concert featuring post-Trinity compositions, or a Vinayaka Chaturthi concert with all songs, including the mangalam, in praise of Vinayaka.

Even their All India Radio concerts were theme based, like the one with all Gowla ragas or the one that featured rare compositions of Yogi Suddhananda Bharathi.

They set to tune all the 4,000 verses of the Divya Prabandham, around 27 kritis of Anayampatti Adi Seshaiyyar, and some Tarangams of Narayana Tirtha. They have composed varnams and thillanas.

Sathya Sai Baba learnt music from the brothers, which he openly acknowledged in many forums. The brothers stayed in Puttaparthi for about four years, during which period B.V. Raman composed as many as 37 songs on Sathya Sai Baba, which includes the famous aarti song, ‘Om Jai Jagadeesha Hare’.

For 40 years they conducted the aradhana of Sadashiva Brahmendral at Manamadurai with sincerity and commitment.

They believed in simple living while their music was a reflection of their devotion to the art and their spirituality. As much as their music, it was the personal qualities of the brothers that endeared them to the public as well as to their peers. They were generous in their appreciation of their accompanists, contemporaries and younger artistes.

At a special event organised for his centenary at Chennai’s Ragasudha Hall, the vidwans Anayampatti Ganesan and N. V. Subramanian, who were closely associated with the brothers, performed a tribute concert.

“His Acts were Based on Sleight of Hand”

Posted by eileenweed on December 19, 2020

A recent article regarding the maybe-soon-to-be-released move on the life of “Sathya Sai Baba” clarifies that his so-called miracles were “based on slight of hand”.

In a country that is often supportive of dubious ‘gurus’ and even has legally punished those who question certain spiritual and religious activities, it is heartening to see that mainstream media realises that Sathya Sai Baba faked his miracles!

Here is the article online:

Anup Jalota unveils new poster of his upcoming film ‘Satya Sai Baba’ featuring Jackie Shroff and Sudhir Dalvi

Ashwin Sheshware | December, 18 2020

Actor-singer Anup Jalota unveiled new poster of his upcoming film ‘Satya Sai Baba’ on social media on Thursday. Anup Jalota is playing role of Satya Sai Baba while Jackie Shroff is playing role of a police officer and Sudhir Dalvi is portraying role of Sai Baba of Shirdi in the film.

Sharing the poster of the film on his Instagram handle, Jalota wrote, “#SriSathyaSaiBaba #TheMovie #AnupJalota #BhajanSamrat #singercumactor #JackieShroff #music #singer”.

Sathya Sai Baba was an Indian guru and philanthropist, born into a Telugu – speaking Bhatraju family. At the age of fourteen he claimed that he was the reincarnation of Shirdi Sai Baba and left his home in order to serve the society and be an example to his followers.

Satya Sai Baba purported materialisations of vibhuti (holy ash) and other small objects such as rings, necklaces, and watches, along with reports of miraculous healings, resurrections, clairvoyance, bilocation, and alleged omnipotence and omniscience, were a source of both fame and controversy. His acts were based on sleight of hand though his devotees considered them signs of his divinity. He died in November 2011 at the age of 84.

‘Satya Sai Baba’ also stars Sadhika Randhawa, Govind Namdev, Arun Bakshi and Mushtaq Khan in key roles. It will be released in English, Hindi, Telugu and Marathi languages.

It is directed by Vicky Ranawat and produced by Balkrishan Srivastav, Ankita Srivastab, Nikita Srivastav and Subhash Sehgal. The film is scheduled to release on January 22, 2021.

Anup Jalota will also feature in Kesar Matharu directorial ‘Woh Meri Student Hai’ along with ‘Big Boss 12’ contestant Jasleen Matharu.

Will the ‘Sathya Sai Baba’ Movie Starring Anup Jalota Finally be Released??

Posted by eileenweed on December 14, 2020

Since 2011 we have been reporting on two planned mainstream movies about Sathya Sai Baba.

  1. ‘Baba Sathya Sai’
Starring Dileep (later replaced by Sreejith Vijay with shooting in October 2016)
    Directed by Kodi Ramakrishna
    Produced by Karatam Rambabu
(Movie Launch was held in October 2011; Movie was reportedly dropped July 2018.)
  2. ‘Sathya Sai Baba’
    Starring Anup Jalota
    Directed by Vicky Ranavath
    Produced by Balakrishnan Srivatsav
(Announced in Feb 2012, filming in Puttaparthi in Feb 2013, Launch party in Sep 2014.)

The saga drags on as a new article appeared on 13 December 2020, stating that the film ‘Sathya Sai Baba’, which was filmed in 2013, will FINALLY be released in January 2021!

With films in India often being finished within months, we can only guess that the producers of these films of the discredited baba are wary of spending money to release such sure-to-be flop films. They will no doubt lose their investments, as the vast population of India makes fun of these shamed con-men ‘gurus’ and would certainly not waste their time and money to see movies glorifying them.

The trailer (see below) shows corny amateur ‘miracles’, stiff performances, scenes of real devotees lifted from decades ago, a fake looking wig on Jalota, and bad photography and lighting. It also tries to cash into Shirdi Sai Baba’s popularity by showing his form merge into Sathya Sai Baba.

Anup Jalota as Sathya Sai Baba
TNNCreated: Dec 13, 2020, 15:46 IST

Bhajan maestro and Padma Shri awardee Anup Jalota, who is a renowned name in the world of devotional music is all set to be part of producer Balkrishn Shrivastav and director Vicky Ranawat’s biopic Sathya Sai Baba. He will play the lead role of Satya Sai Baba in it. The film’s poster was recently released by the Governor of Maharashtra Shri Bhagat Singh Koshyari.

Jalota has signed a few films in the past, too. He says the decision to take up movies dates back to when he was offered the role of Satya Sai Baba in Vicky Ranawat’s film, which also releases this year.

A source close to the production house said, “Anupji bears an uncannily, striking resemblance to Sai Baba. He also happens to be Sai Baba’s follower and has been closely associated with him for many years. It gives us an edge because Anupji is well-versed in Baba’s mannerisms and nuances. It helps us greatly because we can be as realistic as possible. He’s thrilled to be a part of the film and taking a keen interest in every aspect.”

Jalota, who has acted in many films before, is for the first time going to be part of a biopic. He said, “I am glad that I got an opportunity to play Sathya Sai Baba, because I have believed in his ideals and principles. I have also observed him closely and read a lot about him. It required great research and playing this character will be a challenge.”

From former President of the country Late Abdul Kalam Azad to superstar Rajnikanth,Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and God of Indian cricket Sachin Tendulkar many people believed in him. The small village Putapurti, which did not have roads and infrastructure today has world-renowned hospitals, music and education centres and many other facilities for the common man.

The film will also feature Sadhika Randhawa, Jackie Shroff, Govind Namdev , Arun Bakshi, Mushtaq Khan in important roles. Sudhakar Sharma has written the lyrics, music composed by Bappi Lahiri. The film will release on Jan 22, 2021.

Drug Supplies Available in Puttaparthi

Posted by eileenweed on September 7, 2020

According to a recent article, Puttaparthi is where ganja is grown and peddled, and from Puttaparthi, it is distributed to other areas.

It is no mystery that Puttaparthi is filled with anti-social elements! Sathya Sai Baba was unable to fulfill all his promises of “cleaning up India and then the world,” he was unable even to make the town of Puttaparthi spiritual and with sufficient water supply. He himself was involved in hoarding wealth and paying off politicians, authorities and even family members, to keep quiet about his illegal activities.

Shocking Revelations from Former Devote ‘MS’

Posted by robertpriddy on July 18, 2020

This email excerpt is from a former devotee, who heard firsthand from a number of people about their experiences of sexual abuse at the hands of sathya sai baba. Details of one experience is below.

From: m——-i <m——–i@z—–o.com>

Date: Mon, 23 Sep 2019 at 20:38

Subject: Sai Baba

To: d——–a <d——a@gmail.com>

First of all thank you so much that you give me the honour and opportunity to be able to write to you. And before I put my questions let me shortly introduce myself:

I am a social worker and live near Munich Germany.

My spiritual journey started like yours at a young age. At age 18 I joined an Indian Bengali Guru located in NYC (New York City) called Sri Chinmoy. At age 24 I came to Baba after I wasn’t able to go along the path of Sri Chinmoy anymore. Baba was very much healing me after the “stressful” path of Chinmoy. I liked Baba’s saying “Start early- drive slowly – reach safely”. It meant a lot to me after racing to heaven with Chinmoy.

I was very active in the Sai Center in Vienna in the 90’s. I loved it! In 2001 Baba personally arranged my marriage with my wife who was from Iran and who has been living with me for the past 19 years.

We both had incredible experiences with Baba and I felt his path was so grounded – a blending between spiritual aspiration and worldly life. We loved it. Recently again after many years I have become again very active in the Sai center.

About 1 year ago I had to leave the center.

About 4 months back I received a mail from the Sai Center leader. He wanted to know my opinion about one guru. One Sai devotee warned the Sai community about this guru. See more here about him: https://www.bhaktimarga.org/.

I wrote him back that I know personally Swami Vishwananda and I had no bad experiences. He wrote me back that he lived in Vishwananda’s ashram and that Vishwananda wanted him to massage his penis and more things.

I was shocked!!!

Later on my wife said that we should not forget what kind of rumours there are about Sathya Sai Baba. We watched again the movie “Secret Swami – BBC” after around 14 years, you may know about it (we know the family a bit). After watching this I realized that I had repressed some doubts about Baba. I started to investigate, and I asked a close friend of mine what he had experienced with Baba in the many interviews he had in the 90s (17 interviews) as a young guy.

He told me confidently that he had to preform several blow jobs on Baba’s “lingam”. I am very sure he did not lie to me; everything was very confident. He told me that Baba’s penis was half erected but did not lose sperm. He was not even completely negative about Baba. The only thing he really criticized was that Baba did it with people that didn’t like it.

I was so shocked and confused but also realized that many things I heard about firsthand many times, were most probably true! Before I believed that Baba was “healing” devotee by massaging and oiling their penises. And all the other allegations I thought were just fake rumours from bad people in the internet.

Baba’s “negative side”

As you most probably know: it is true that that Baba had sexual relations with innocent people against their will or in a manipulated state of mind.

Why baba had so much money, gold and silver in his room????

Did he give the order for murdering (the four boys) in 1993?

We know that many times he didn’t really materialize!!! (ok maybe to test people’s faith???)

Puttaparthi not even sure to become a district headquarter

Posted by robertpriddy on July 4, 2020

On June 23 of last year Hans News Service reported that ´the demand to carve out Hindupur as district capital gained momentum´. Reading the article, it was no done deal at all that Puttaparthi would win the prize of becoming the new central hub, as it faced stiff competition from Hindupur and Penukonda, to become the headquarters of the new Andhra Pradesh district!

In typical Indian style, one year later, the matter still seems to be undecided. Nothing new under the sun. But safe to say, it does not bode well for Puttaparthi, birth place of the late Satyha Sai Baba, alleged king of kings, and its inherent power brokers. They so much want it to become a major religious and administrative centre, the more so since their late leader always confidently predicted it would gain world renown…But then, it is widely known how many of his tall claims did not pan out even when he was still ‘ in the flesh’. Why would it all of a sudden be any different now that he is dead nearly a decade? The decision will be based on ‘scientific parameters’, a local MP emphasized. God knows what will come of it…

Demand to Carve Out Hindupur District Gains Momentum
Hans News Service
23 Jun 2019 1:31 AM IST

Anantapur: In the context of likelihood of Hindupur emerging as district head-quarter for the proposed district to be carved out of Anantapur district, there are demands from other parts that Penukonda, the second historical capital of the once powerful Vijayanagar empire of Sri Krishna Devaraya, should be considered as its new district head quarter.

Besides, there has also been a long-time demand for making Puttaparthi as the head- quarters of the proposed second district. Already new district capital sadhana samithi’s have emerged in Penukonda and Puttaparthi represented by cross section of people.

Those advocating Penukonda as the new district head-quarter argue that Penukonda has emerged as an industrial corridor. It was also the ancient second capital of Vijayanagar empire. Kia Motors and its proposed ancillaries have the potential to transform the landscape of the historical town.

However, those demanding that Puttaparthi should be made as the new district head-quarter feel that Puttaparthi is well developed. The town has lot of infrastructure to host administrative buildings and quarters for officers. It has an airport and is also close to Bengaluru international airport. It has also close proximity to Anantapur which is an educational hub.
Hindupur of course has its own advantages as it is very close to Bengaluru international airport. Already the town has buildings to house government offices. Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy is planning to bifurcate every existing district into two districts taking parliamentary constituency as a yard-stick.

Even before the bifurcation of united AP, there had been demands for bifurcation of Anantapur into two districts – Anantapur and Hindupur. Similarly in Rayalaseema Tirupati in Chittoor district, Nandyala in Kurnool district, Rajampeta in Kadapa and Hindupur in Anantapur district are under consideration of the state government to make them as new districts.

Newly elected MP of Hindupuram Lok Sabha constituency Gorantla Madhav said to The Hans India that he welcomed the proposal of Hindupur emerging as another district. Anantapur, the present district head-quarters is very far away from Hindupur. By bifurcating the district, administration can be brought closer to the people and development prospects would be brighter, he said.

Already Hindupur MP constituency has emerged an industrial hub. Hindupur and Penukonda have already emerged as industrial zones. With many more industrial projects in the anvil, Hindupuram district will gain recognition as an industrial district. He said that expert committees would look into the demands for location of district head-quarter on the basis of scientific parameters, the MP added.

Insight into Working Conditions at Sri Sathya Sai General Hospital, Puttaparthi

Posted by robertpriddy on June 18, 2020

We received this report in October, 2019, from a source who for reasons of security, wishes to remain anonymous. It gives valuable insight into the inside world of working at the Puttaparthi General Hospital.

I met several times with a gynecologist at the Sathya Sai General Hospital during my recent trip to Puttaparthi (a friend of a friend who we socialized with). She has been there one year, NOT a devotee, and will soon leave. She completed her Masters a year ago and had very limited experience. She tried working in a corporate hospital in a big city but was concerned about their unethical practices such as filling quotas for unnecessary surgeries, so she left.

She gave me insights into the Puttaparthi hospital interview process.

Telephone Excerpt

Sai General Hospital (GH) Phone Interview Experience:

GH: Are you familiar with Puttaparthi and Sai Baba?

Doc: Yes, I came there as a small girl with my parents.

GH: How wonderful! Then you know about Sai Baba?

Doc: Not much, but yes, I know OF him.

GH: Excellent! When can you start working?

Doc: Uh, what is the salary?

GH: We can give you Rs 62,000 and a room. (Note: after joining, she discovered they had LIED – the salary was only Rs 50,000 and she had to pay for electricity and water bills.)

Doc: How is the room furnished?

GH: Furnished? You need it furnished? We can put a bed in there for you. (When she came, she saw they provided a rickety old hospital bed, labeled “Super Speciality Hospital”!)

Doc: What about a table and chair? A fridge? Cupboards for storage? AC? A vehicle?

GH: None of that will be provided.

IN COMPARISION

These are typical questions that other hospitals asked her during the interveriew experience:

— Where/When did you graduate?
— What were your marks?
— What experience do you have?
— What procedures are you comfortable doing on your own?
— What procedures do you need assistance with?
— We will provide you with Rs 200,000 monthly salary (2 lakhs), with regular increases.
— We will provide you with top class fully furnished accommodation, two bedroom apartment with nice beds, hot water heater, fridge, AC, company vehicle, and of course table, chairs, lots of storage space, etc.

Doctor’s Quarters Conditions

Note: She was lucky to get a room within a couple days of arriving. Other doctors who joined after her, had no room for over a month after they joined, and they had to pay for their own accommodation in Puttaparthi. They continually heard excuses of the room “getting ready”.

I visited her room, which is in the hospital compound (it was not there in the ‘old days,’ when doctors had rooms inside the ashram). There was only one small cupboard in the kitchen – no other storage place anywhere, not even in the bedroom and entry rooms. Utensils and other food items were piled up on the counters. The cover to the toilet seat was gone. It was so sweltering hot in Puttaparthi that she ended up buying her own AC for the room (money provided by her parents, as her salary was insufficient). The mattress on the bed were hard as rock, slightly lumpy, and could not be used – she had purchased her own mattress. There was water damage visible on the walls, probably mold too, and the paint was peeling off from top to bottom. She told me that she saw several accommodations provided to doctors in the Super Speciality hospital and they were WORSE than hers.

She was totally shocked that the General Hospital did not ask nor did they care about any medical experience she might have – they only cared about her knowing about Sai Baba and Puttaparthi!

She didn’t like working at Puttaparthi and did a few more phone interviews with other hospitals, and finally accepted a job offer at a small town in another state, for several times more money than she gets in Puttaparthi.

She said that the Parthi hospitals are understaffed and always trying to rope in people willing to work for cheap wages; however, most new non-devotee employees leave within a few months. She also told older staff who were ardent devotees, would tell her stories of Sai miracles and pressure her on a regular basis to become a devotee and to attend bhajans. Also, she pointed out the lack of sanitation there was a big issue. For example, being free, she said, why of course needles were reused multiple times on multiple patients!

Some of the pictures of the doctor’s room are attached. In India, doctors are treated like VIPs with luxury accommodation when they join a hospital to work in. The doc lady was shocked when she saw what they provided for her!

The decline of The “God Avatar’s” accommodation facilities and unsanitary conditions are telling signs of the transitory nature of pretended divinity and fame. No wonder the gynecologist left asap!

Master Plan for Puttaparthi? UPDATED!

Posted by robertpriddy on June 11, 2020

The proposition for a major development of Puttaparthi into an international tourist destination, first reported years ago and revisited many times (not least of which was in September 2019), has again been revised in a Hans India article dated 2 June 2020.

Sathya Sai Baba has been dead and buried for nine (9) years now. Puttaparthi has hardly any visitors, as the evidence of wrongdoing and the fact that the baba constantly sexually abused young boys for many decades, has spread far and wide.

Puttaparthi is now just a typical small town with normal families going about their normal lives. How will they attract tens of thousands of spiritual-minded tourists to pay for the “Yoga Wellness Centre” and the “Food Park”? Wait and watch my friends – wait and watch!

This massive project promises to be yet another “White Elephant” of waste, just like the Sathya Sai Airport, vacant year round, is now.

See the article HERE.

Master plan prepared for development of Puttaparthi: MLA D Sridhar Reddy

Hans News Service

Puttaparthi (Anantapur) : MLA D Sridhar Reddy stated that he will strive to develop Puttaparthi as an international tourist destination. Already the spiritual town has a brand image due to the visit of several people from abroad when Bhagawan Sathya Sai Baba was alive.

The town has many guest houses and private resorts built by foreign devotees of the Baba and it will be developed on the lines of Mantralaya, he said.

Sathya Sai National Park, Underground drainage and underground power cables, a ring road, R&B circuit guest house, Food Park and Yoga Wellness Centre will be part of Rs 1,000 crore development project, he added.

Sridhar Reddy said to The Hans India that a master plan had been drafted prior to covid 19 lockdown.

Soon the issue will be taken to the notice of Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.

APIIC will provide 100 acres of land for Food Park, and Roads and Buildings department will be investing Rs.350 crore on the 31.5 km ring road development covering Manillakunta Cross, Kothacheruvu, Puttaparthi and Bukkapatnam mandals. Already 60 acres had been identified for the Yoga Wellness Centre, he further said.

MLA Sridhar asked officials to take steps for planting trees on the proposed ring road connecting Puttaparthi-Bukkapatnam-Kothacheruvu. A fountain at the Chitravati dam and also a giant statue of Baba for attracting tourists are also planned by the MLA.

Master Plan for Puttaparthi?

Posted by robertpriddy on October 7, 2019

A report in late September 2019 stated that Puttaparthi will be developed into an “International Tourist Spiritual destination”, a 1,000 crore project. This will apparently include a 100 acre land for a Food Park and 60 acres for a Yoga Wellness Center.

It is quite amusing to hear of the large wasteful investments in hope of a internationally recognised spiritual destination… the dwindling attraction of a dead and gone charlatan God. I wonder what the “R & B Circuit Guest House’” will be. Part of a showbiz circuit for Rhythm and Blues artists and their fans? Ha, ha!

Then, the 100 acre ‘Food Park’ intrigued me… will they be selling sought-after culinary delicacies as Parthi-pizza, coconut and/or vegetable rolls, PN canteen food? That will bring in the ’spiritual visitors’ in their hordes, no doubt.

A full sixty acres of Yoga wellness rather suggests the estimated ill health and degeneration of devotees. What will doubtless be the destruction of the already naturally beautiful Chitravati river bed and surroundings is a mindless shame.

Why can’t people leave good alone? I can’t imagine many people making a pilgrimage to see it all!

Roads and Buildings department will be investing Rs.350 crores on the 31.5 km Ring road development covering Manillakunta Cross, Kothacheruvu, Puttaparthi and Bukkapatnam mandals.

Already 60 acres have been identified for the Yoga Wellness Centre. Chitravati river-bed beautification will also be part of the Greater Puttaparthi Development. A 33 KV sub-station is also proposed in the Puttaparthi town, he added.

Indian media increases attacks on controversial ‘godmen’

Posted by robertpriddy on August 23, 2013

Since Sathya Sai Baba’s ignominious death and aftermath scandals, the Indian media have increasingly been critical both of him, his Central Trust and also of numerous other gurus. However, the judiciary has so far been most ineffective in following up on investigations, charges and,  not least, effective convictions. This fact was emphasized by the leader of the Najma Heptulla (vice president of the main opposition Bharatiya Janata Party) in an interview on On Sky News (August 23 – see image above). She was attacking the government for laxity in responding to the latest horrific rape case in Mumbai on Monday where a woman’s throat was slit. On Tuesday, six murders took place and the throats of two women were slit and four were murdered in one house. Earlier rape cases were happening in Delhi daily, making the city a rape Capital of the country. After rape, now murders are happening especially of women and elderly. On Sky News Heptulla said:- “
“Nobody is safe, no woman is safe. I do not know what’s happening. There is no fear of law in the minds of people because they don’t get punished, they get away with it.”

Indian godmen whose ‘spiritual’ lives were questioned by alleged misconducts

Swami Nityananda, Asaram Bapu, Sathya Sai Baba & Swami Ramdev - all sexual abusers and deceivers

Swami Nityananda, Asaram Bapu, Sathya Sai Baba & Swami Ramdev – all sexual abusers and deceivers

Wednesday, Aug 21, 2013, 21:30 IST | Agency: DNA Web Team

As Asaram Bapu on Wednesday has been charged with sexual assault of a teenager. Here’s a look at some godmen who have had to face flak.

“Spiritual leader Asaram Bapu was booked on Wednesday by the Delhi Police for sexual assault following a complaint from a minor girl. Asaram Bapu, who has a large following, was earlier in the news after Gujarat Police filed a case of attempted murder against him and two others. He was also accused of illegal land-grabbing in Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh.

In 2011, money amounting to crores of Rupees were found from the late Sathya Sai Baba‘s residential quarters in Puttaparthi town of Andhra Pradesh. The money found cast doubts about the functioning of the trust, which manages the affairs of the vast  spiritual empire of Sathya Sai Baba.

Yoga guru, Baba Ramdev has been at the centre of various controversies over the years ranging from being booked by the Enforcement Directorate in a case of alleged foreign exchange violation to making politically charged statements.

Controversial self-styled godman Nithyananda in 2012 was accused by a US-based woman alleging that the swami had sexually abused her for five years.”

Asaram Bapu arrested for sexual assault, India’s worst male chauvinist guru?

Posted by robertpriddy on August 21, 2013

ssb-asaram_babuGodman Asaram Bapu is a very controversial godman with a huge following. He has been accused of sexually assaulting a minor girl and a complaint lodged in Delhi. An FIR ( first information report) has been filed and has confirmed rape. According to reports, a teenage girl filed the FIR against Asaram Bapu accusing him of sexually assaulting her in a Jodhpur hostel in Rajasthan. He was close to another infamous sexual abuser, namely Sathya Sai Baba, (see photo on right). This is yet another crime by the fraudster criminal Asaram Bapu, who was invited to Prashanti Nilayam in 2004 by Sai Baba, where they gave speeches extolling each other publicly.

The Times of India and many other national news outlets reported on Asaram Bapu’s statements that the He stated at a recent rally that the gang-raped and murdered young lady ion a Delhi bus, Nirbhaya , was equally to blame for the rape and added, “Mistake is never from one side alone.” Considering the utterly horrendous treatment she received, this put him among the very worst of ignorant and unscrupulous male chauvinist gurus alive. His statements triggered a furore and there were vociferous protests against him across India. Among many others, actress Khushbhu stated: “His comments are completely baseless. No woman can be blamed for a rape. Nirbhaya is not responsible for the fatal attack as the rape has been forced on her. There is absolutely no mistake from her side. He cannot call himself a Godman after uttering such a harsh comment. After making this statement, he had no guts to face the media. He just made this statement for sheer publicity. Nobody knew who he was before this controversy. He says that he has five crore followers. After his comment, I am sure everybody will stop following him. This is just not male chauvinism, this is something beyond that.”

Asaram Bapu /Asumal Sirumalani) was listed as a fraudster in a report by http://www.siliconindia.com:-
“Sant Shri Asharam Ji Bapu is endearingly known as Bapu among all the godmen and self proclaimed saints mentioned above Asaram Bapu is one of the most controversial. He is accused of land grabbing in Gujarat and various other cities and is busy settling the string of cases charged against him.”

Asaram Bapu’s turnover some years ago was listed as Rs 350 crore, which included the multicrore controversial ashram in Delhi’s Ridge area close to the Rabindra Rangashala.

Attempted murder: A former member of the Asaram ashram, Raju Chandak, claimed in an affidavit with the police that tantric rituals were being performed in the ashram, and that he had seen Asaram Bapu sexually exploiting women. In December 2009, Raju Chandak was attacked with guns by two unknown persons in the Ramnagar locality of Sabarmati. The Gujarat police filed an attempt to murder case against Asaram Bapu and two others.

Deaths of students:  A commission was set up in 2008 to probe the mysterious death of two children, whose bodies were found on the Sabarmati riverbed on July 5, 2008 after they went missing on July 3. Dipesh Vaghela, aged 10 years, and Abhishek Vaghela, aged 11, were cousins studying at Ashram’s Gurukul (residential school) at Motera. Following public outcry, the case was handed over to the CID, which after a year of probing, filed a complaint of culpable homicide and booked seven sadhaks of the ashram. The CID, in its report, alleged that the accused had failed lie detection tests regarding tantra sadhna and black magic practises at the ashram, though the CID found no direct evidence of such activities during their searches. Praful Vaghela, the father of one of the children, believes that the children were killed as consequence of tantric ritual. (see Wikipedia, Asaram Bapu)

Sachin Tendulkar and Sathya Sai Baba’s gold cup ‘stolen’ from the poor

from Tehelka – 7th May CLICK ON IMAGE TO GO TO WEB PAGE

The Cricket Field and Golden Cup. On 30/12/1997 world cricket stars and TV stations were invited to a ‘Cricket Unity Cup’ on an expensively-prepared field in the Hillview Stadium. Some famous players came, mostly Indian, including Sachin Tendulkar, Arjuna Ranatunga, Sunil Gaveskar (a long-term devotee),
G. R. Vishwanath, Viv Richards of West Indies and almost unknown Doug Brown (the only UK player).
Sai Baba is reported as having said:

SB “It will be brought by four boys in a trolley. It is very heavy. It cannot be lifted. It weighs 20 kgs. Pure gold.”
A college teacher exclaimed; “1 Crore, Swami!” (i.e Rs.10 millions)
SB: “Yes, yes.”
Teacher: “Individual cup,
Swami?”
SB: “Yes, yes. Each player one Cup. 1 Kg. of silver. Round cup, one side ball, one side bat. We
can keep fruits on it. It can be used in daily life. Outside they give plate on which they write. After some days it becomes copper. This is pure silver, pure gold.”
Teacher: “Swami, it is written in Suka Naadi that Avatar will hoist the Sarvadharma flag; and that will be the turning point for the unity of the world.”
SB answered: “Time has come; time has come. Yes, in Suka Naadi it is there, in Sukha Naadi it is there.”

Comment: So much for Sai Baba’s confirmation of the Suka Naadi’s failed prediction – yet again!

From where did the 20 kilos of gold come for the Cricket Cup?
Since Sathya Sai Baba claimed he had no possessions whatever (except his boys!), he could not have paid for it. (Unless he already had a hidden stash of gold, perhaps). No, ALL the money used so lavishly to try to promote himself through international cricket came from donors to the Central Trust. That money was given on the understanding that it would be used most judiciously for the support of the poor, the suffering, the sick, the uneducated… not a naia paise wasted but NOT to buy cricket stars’ support through lavish gifts. The young Sachin Tendulkar was easily inducted into the beliefs about ´Sathya Sai Baba and has never questioned anything, gladly accepting his share of the cash never intended for him or other rich and famous persons by the donors who gave so unstintingly and trustfully. The other famous Indian cricketers involved then also share the responsibility for figuratively ‘taking bread from the mouths of the poor’. NOW, however, the hidden facts about the Sai Trust and Sai Baba has begun to emerge more widely even in India! Sathya Sai Baba hoarded gold, silver, currency and countless other items in secret caches! The unaccountable, clandestine Sai Trust is under questioning… though the money they have available – and their contacts with huge influence – can yet no doubt buy off any police, politicians or witnesses.

The scandalous Cricket Cup was otherwise a huge and costly failure as the experiment has never been repeated. It is another incidence of the duplicity that has marked Sathya Sai Baba’s relationship to property and money from the start of the Sai Organization. On 11/8/2001, Sathya Sai Baba held a discourse (published in Sanathana Sarathi, September 2001) where he detailed the running costs of the two hospitals, the colleges etc. and how much investment is needed to cover these. This sum – amounting to the interest from 600 crores of rupees (about $120 mill), is perhaps surprisingly little, considering the billions that have been donated to him. Half the interest of this 600 crores goes to the Bangalore hospital, 2/6th to the Puttaparthi hospital and 1/6th to all the educational institutions together. Sai Baba asks rhetorically, “Wherefrom does it all come?” And adds so self-deprecatingly, “However, I am giving it” (p. 264). Does Sai Baba himself have any money to give, then? He has always claimed to be a renunciate who owns nothing. For example, At a meeting of the Central Trust yesterday, I told the members including Sri Indulal Shah, that I had no interest in property. Do not involve me in any connection with these properties. I do not wish to have any connection with money or property. My only concern is with my devotees. Telling them all this, I signed the papers. (1.01.1998, Sanathana Sarathi, Vol. 41, January1998, p. 4).
