January 2, 2014Surat: Self-styled godman Asaram Bapu’s son Narayan Sai’s judicial custody in the Surat rape case has been extended till January 10. His father, Asaram Bapu, is currently lodged in a Jodhpur jail after he was arrested in September for alleged sexual assault of a minor girl at his ashram.
On December 13th, aides of Narayan Sai were detained for trying to bribe police; Rs 5 crore (i.e. over US$ 800,000.-) was seized.
A sub-inspector and five aides of self-styled godman Asaram’s son Narayan Sai allegedly tried to bribe the police and other officials in a bid to weaken the sexual assault case against him. Investigations continue as both self-proclaimed ‘godmen’ remain behind bars.
