V. Srinivasan remains on Sai Trust

Sathya Sai Central Trust member V. Srinivasan, an industrialist, was asked whether he might resign from the Trust in the wake of the revelations and controversy. He said he won’t run away from the responsibility entrusted to him by Sai Baba. Nor, he said, had Ex.Chief Justice P.N. Bhagwati or accountant Indulal Shah resigned their trusteeship. (That is news, since Shah reportedly “distanced himself” from the Trust, while Bhagwati reportedly did resign at least once already, but changed his mind. Apropos, Bhagwati has totally compromised himself as an independent judge by claiming his decisions were really Sai Baba’s).   The Times of India reports today that Srinivasan “tried to put up a brave front” and also:-

Asked about the charges made by some family members of Sai Baba that they faced threat to their life from the Trust, he said any person facing such a threat were free to lodge a complaint with police. He said they were not answerable to the family members since they were selected by Sai Baba as trustees. “Yet, they were given their due in matters of importance,” he said. (Times of India)

Vague on purpose, one assumes, because family members – apart from the nephew Ratnakar – have complained on many counts, from not being allowed access to Sathya Sai Baba for all the time until long after he was hospitalised up to allegations of threats to life. They are informed that can take action against this 8 billion dollar outfit, which sounds very like a patronising challenge to them. What the “due matters of importance” may be remains a mystery so far.
